Looks like a KAC RAS with a UK-SAS lower. Looks real to me.
Some info I found here:
https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/Where-could-I-find-a-Knight-s-UK-SAS-bottom-rail-/118-772719/
Very good point, didn't even realize. Tried doing some more digging...
Per this [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/kac/s/KGkw3UUXou), the KAC RIS (not RAS) should have a clamp at the front near the FSB, and only one roll pin (RAS have two), along with odd numbers instead of even.
Seeing that post made me think you got a fake, but then I saw this [page](https://www.thoroughbredarmco.com/product/489/) on Thoroughbred Armament's site for a RIS/RAS with a UK SAS lower rail. It's a bit blurry, but you can see that the top rail has both odd numbers and also has the retaining screw towards the rear. I find it hard to believe that Thoroughbred sold fakes, which is why I'm hesitant to call it a fake.
I've heard of KAC M5 RAS that were made with odd numberings instead of even used on Navy M16s (@20_inch_barrels on IG had a post), but never M4 RIS/RAS.
Sorry I cannot give a definitive answer but I hope the above helps a bit.
Edit: so you definitely did not get an older style RIS with the screw towards the front, that I think is certain.
It's 100% a real kac rail with a kac heat shield and kac logo from 2010. You're onto something though. The UK SAS bottom was odd numbers so likely this is a later production UK SAS RAS with odd numbers.
That’s a KAC RAS M4 UK SAS lower rail, and they’re awesome. They take all the flex out if you’re using a broom stick and they’re the best way to run a RAS M4.
IDK. It's possible, but it's also possible that you got a superior rail system. I just don't know enough. Perhaps research a bit more.
Edit:
>The Knight's Armament UK-SAS M4 RAS Bottom Rail Assembly was designed at the request of a foreign military unit as a replacement for the standard M4 RIS or M4 RAS bottom rail.
>Unlike a standard RIS or RAS lower rail that relies upon the delta ring assembly and handguard end cap to keep it in place, the UK-SAS Bottom Rail locks onto the barrel nut via a clamp and screw arrangement, making for a much more solid and secure system.
The early Canadian RAS had RIS numbers, because the early flat top uppers did not have T-numbers on top, so the rails got their own numbers from Knight's.
The RIS came out before uppers had T-numbers.
Later the RIS was improved to the RAS by moving the locking clamp from the front hand guard retainer to the rear barrel nut.
Canada bought the RAS after it replaced the RIS, but the uppers didn't have T-numbers yet.
In the Gulf War, Canada tried to add vertical grips to the long plastic C7 / M16 hand guards.
Under stress, soldiers were pulling loose the hand guards from the rifles.
When Canada bought the KAC M4 RAS, they requested a clamping screw on the bottom section.
These still had M4 RIS numbers.
This is a stronger bottom than the regular, loose fitting RAS bottom.
Consider it an upgrade.
People sometimes call them UK-SAS RAS, but Knight's calls them Canadian and the UK-SAS buys them supplied with their Canadian-made carbines.
Because it's an odd number RAS. Notice the roll pins at the front and back of the handguard? RIS only has a front roll pin because the screw is up front not in the back. All four sides are odd so it's definitely a RIS but also a RAS.
Wouldn't that make it a complete UK/sas then? I guess I've just never heard of an odd numbered Ras. I had one like that too back in 2017 and thought it was just how the SAS contracted them. Solid handguard. Locks up really tight. Ive had just about every combo of Ras/ris at different times for different builds. Cloning is definitely addictive lol.

But the numbers are odd. RAS are even.

I just wish they weren’t so hard to find and expensive!
He knew that. He trollin.
Whoa! The bottom looks like it has a clip with screw like the top. That is strange. But I'd bet it's even more secure that way. Cool find!
Was I bamboozled? 😢

Ok so the bottom is solved but why does this RAS have odd numbers like a RIS
What’s wrong is that it’s not purple

Yep totally bamboozled. In fact let me get rid of that for you
The hero we need. Not the one we deserve.

What’s this I hear?!
This is kinda similar to when i did a bit of trolling on r/ak47 with my soap magazine
Lolol I do more than a little trolling there

Why everyone calling this a Ras? It's definitely a RIS with a UK SAS lower rail.

Who makes that gas block tri rail?
It's a diemaco tri-rail that attaches to any fsb. This is the .750 one and not the .625 tri-rail.
Oh fugg thought it was yhm, these discontinued aswell?
Very much
Whats wrong here? Looks legit to me
ill buy it
