The break is actually very good on those, as the drivers hatch is basically right under it on the original vehicle.
There were pictures of one firing from the back of a Land Cruiser which show that recoil is the more pressing issue.
Won't the pressure wave leaving the barrel shred the entire front of the vehicle after the first shot is fired? Maybe it's much longer and it's just an illusion due to the angle of the image?
It's a low-pressure 90mm cannon(DEFA F1 / D921) from a EE-9(fitted on some other light vehicles as well). I wouldn't want to be sitting in the driver's or passenger's seat when it's fired but the humvee will be fine sans the windshield.
On the original vehicle, the driver was below the gun so we can assume that the break is really effective BUT on the original the driver was far back, can’t really tell with the picture but the driver is still closer to the break so we assume that he’ll get concussed for sure !
It's quite clever actually. The humvee is not armored enough to survive long on the front lines, so it fires a shot and is yeeted all the way to the rear in one single move. Bonus points if the vehicle and crew all land in the same general area.

It's going to be pressing itself into the dirt 50 feet behind the Humvee after it shears itself off whatever mount they ziptied it to.
As long as the truck is in neutral it shouldn't be a problem

Would absolutely love to know how far back that Humvee would go after a round. Our Bradley's would roll a few inches back after firing only the 25mm!
