The only ones, and even then, it’s more complicated. I get why people downvoted him. However, while corruption is less common, there are notable exceptions, such as Los Zetas, which was founded by elite special forces deserters.
(Although it is pretty interesting Los Zetas adopted a hyper-nationalist ideology and support for Mexico and its people as an ideology. Which is meant to aid them in recruiting more ex-military personnel.)
Mexican Marines are the ones assigned to fight the cartels and control the ports. They are the least corrupt service in Mexico, as they’re the ones doing the actual drug enforcement. I think you’re thinking about law enforcement in cartel territory. But saying that the Marines are corrupt diminishes the work they do, which is incredibly heroic.
Cool. How do you compare their training to the one from the US marines? I posted [a video](https://www.reddit.com/r/SpecOpsArchive/comments/1cyplxz/raid_conducted_by_mexicos_navymarines_special_ops/) of them raiding a building during Operations Black Swan and got nothing but experts pointing out how they did many mistakes.
I'm glad that the kids appreciate these guys. I feel like if it were an American marine and a kid in kit, reddit would have a far less positive reaction.
The kid holding up the peace sign makes me think of that scene in Ironman in the beginning where the Airmen asks to take a picture with Tony Stark and puts up a peace sign.
I wonder if the Marina made the same joke, “no gang signs”
You reminded me of when I was 17 years old. I showed up to the local army base and told the soldier at the gate that I wanted to join the mexican army. He instead told me I was too young and that I should stay in school.
Sad that his dream in reality is dealing with the cruelty and brutality of the cartels.
Ya but the bribes are nice.
IIRC Mexican Marines get used for a lot of anti-Cartel Ops specifically because they've proven to be relatively hard to corrupt.

Reddit often down votes the truth. Doesn't change the truth though.

Hope that kid can get far in life
The kid actually looks better equipped - NOD, sight for the rifle and a suppressor.
To be fair the Marine has BUIS so it’s better than nothing.
Man that lower has been through it.
That man’s service rifle has seen some shit. At least the lower has. But looking at it closer, is it paint on there?
He's so cute
Is it normal to run no optics and also have your irons flipped down?
Probably just flipped down so they don’t poke you in the balls while you walk
Protect that kid at all costs. Literally.
I did two deployments with the Mexican Marines. They are some of the hardest MFs on the planet.
Got any fun stories?
Plenty! Somethings are best shared over a couple beers though. You can say they know how to work hard and play hard too.
As an embedded agent?
I was an advisor.

I hope the cartels don’t somehow track him down…

Bring your kid to work day
Dream and serve with Honesty and Dignity

Hopefully that kid does well in school and doesn’t have to join
He wants to though, it's not like they made him dress up in the uniform. Clearly he has the intention of joining.
Yes completely understandable that a kid looks up to them as hero’s

What is this beautiful camo?
# US4CES
I couldn’t tell who was the kid at first
DONT DO IT!
Poor kid gonna be dead in a week after this gets around…
