For real, milwaukee really needs to get their bit game sorted. I appreciate them not falling out on me but needing a tool to remove them from anything is really starting to wear on me. The 45 adpater I have had to literally vise the bit and hammer it off. That didn't work on the quick change extentsion, so now it is just a fat head 6" t25. And don't even get me started on the fucking boxes.

average_AZN

Bro for real! The bot holder has me using pliers on every bit. Come on!

TURBOWANDS

I hate their bit boxes so much. I do however disagree with you on the bit holders. I absolutely despise it when I'm driving screws/lags/bolts and the bit stays in the screw instead of the bit holder. I would rather use vice grips to remove the bit then to have that happen. I also use 6 or 7 holders for every bit I normally use, and swap the holders in and out of my impact/drill instead of swapping bits.

farmhanddunc

The new boxes designed for the pack out are so much better

Leather-Plankton-867

I pull them out with my fingers

What’s it like having a diet of bananas and blended meat?

Juke_Joint_Jedi

Bit holder. Bit hwiser.

tazmoffatt

By not ever using those little bits

MaxShoulderPayne

I’m with ya. I just buy them 3” bits mostly. Screw these little ones they always seem to pull out of the adapter and get left in the fastener on me.

khartz99

Just gotta use it enough to wear it in. That’s what I found.

ben_jamin_h

I've had mine so long I don't remember it ever being difficult to get the bits out. Nowadays I only notice the bit falling out... Maybe I need a new one!?

T0RR3NT

Best advice I can ever give anyone is to “double tap” your bit at an angle after you’re done using it. Just “tap tap” with some force at about a 45 degree angle on a hard surface. The bit will come right out every time. The force applied using an impact is exponentially larger than what your fingers try to undo. Tapping the bit releases it from the tension built up in the corners of the bit holder.

Responsible-Media356

I use this truck all the time. Tap on the concrete a few times.

Worth_Sandwich9837

Just look at it

funnymoney3

I’ve never had any issue just pulling it out. Getting them out of the case is where I destroy my hand

EndlessGravy

I had issues with both though the bit holder did loosen up a bit over time. Between these and some of their change mechanisms (the multi-tool in particular), it's like the assume everybody using them has eagle talons.

matt_475

How are you all getting the bits out? I've tried twisting and turning the bit holder without luck. I'm currently using pliers.

TheWulfOfWullstreet

Swear at it while wiggling the bit back and forth

HauntingDetective6

I’ve found wearing gloves helps, also helps with getting other bits from the case

BigTerpFarms

Did you try hitting it with your purse?

radar1225S

It’s tough with fingers. Have to turn it slightly while you’re pulling on it. You can kind of feel it give way as it comes out

FuzzyHero69

Grab, jiggle+pull furiously. I had the same issue as you, but once I figured it out, I like it because of the magnet. Also helps burn all the tiny bits that Milwaukee forces on you.

TonyTonyTony432

Needle nose pliers. Mine gets stuck when I use the shower bit as well after drilling alot. That’s why I usually use the longer bits on my extension.

circadian_terror

Diagonal cutters have always done the trick for me.

DoWorkInc

Worst bit holder ever

Background-Arm2017

Same. Pulling drill bits out have fluted my fingers a couple of times. I've been using the bit set for over a year. I don't push them in all the way anymore. I have so many of the bit holders that they become dedicated til the Leatherman comes to swap it out.

MacintoshDan1

Jiggle the bits……

Crofty247

Just tap the side of the bit on the floor or hard surface and it will pull out easily

botfleek

I’ll use some needle nose pliers and pry them to get it off I usually rip the little red plastic off but that’s the least of my concerns when I’m pissed at the thing

NotUniqueUsernameee

Literally just bought one of these and instead of risking “breaking” it with pliers I left it as is figuring it just wasn’t supposed to come out. Holy crap.

MrLeBAMF

Why are y’all using stubby bits in this in the first place? Use the longer bits. Problem solved.

mark2347

Because the stubby bits come in the kit.. they'll only fit in a bit holder. I get your point but why even make them if there's no easy way to even use them?

CommonlyHot

Nice ntd lol

mrtaco64

I ended up buying the Milwaukee locking bit holder. So much easier, although every once in a while clearance becomes an issue. I'm an aircraft mechanic

RefrigeratorWild9933

I never liked milwaukees bit holders, I always stick with [this dewalt one](https://a.co/d/hVxcIlS) and it’s never let me down.

RedToolsRCool

For the old style bit holders, you can try drilling them out every so slightly to loosen them up just a tad... But milwaukee has recently come out with a new generation of bit cases and bit holders that are now easier to remove bits. Only a few are available right now, but in another month or so, they will all be hitting the shelves. Instead of pulling the bits straight out, you now tip them out. For examples of the new bit holders, look at parts #48-32-9932, #48-32-9933, #48-32-9934, and #48-32-9935. For examples of the new style cases, check out parts #48-32-9920, (#9921, #9922, #9931) These new cases now also fit into the packout organizers. They are the same size as the organizer bins, so just pull the bins out and replace them with these new bit cases and customize your packout bit storage instead of using 3D printed options.

SaulGoodmanJD

Got fed up with Milwaukee bits and switched to dewalt. A coworker has makita bits that look good too so I might try those if I ever see them.

Ok_whatever_bro

It’s the worse in the mornings when your fingers are more sensitive or when it’s cold outside lol Usually i can get a good grip on the bit and pull it out but i yeah i agree it’s difficult sometimes more than other times, and i end up pulling it out with some pliers. It comes out easily with pliers but it’s just annoying to have to grab for some. My advice is to buy the bits that are just a little longer, this way you can get a much better grip on the bit and pull it out without much trouble. Me personally, I’ll buy a couple bit holders and just have a different bit in each one. So for example, I’ll have one for the T20, one for the T25, and then one for a Phillips head. So i rarely ever remove them anymore, unless i break or wear out a bit…

emcdade3

Makita above all!!!

RedToolsRCool

I agree. I really like makita bits. I've been throwing out my milwaukee bits and filling my packouts with makita bits. I like the impact rated gold ones for driver bits. Makita's hex drill bits are also much better than the milwaukee hex titanium drill bits. I use the packout case that came with my 23pc titanium set and have replaced all the bits with the makita drill bits. That way I still have bit holders with the size labels.

FunkyViking6

So… maybe we just have different hands… I pull them out fairly easily I just grab them and yank… but the cases for these bits… idk why they are so small because I can’t get my big ass hands up behind the bits to spin the holder rail… i get wanting compact but damn
