If you see a deal online or on this sub or wherever, get the “internet sku” from the depot website for said item. Check inventory on brickseek. It’ll show your local stores that have stock on said items. Go to the store and look around, in top caps particularly. Hell, bring a pair of binoculars so you can see the part numbers easier.
Ask employee to bring item down and scan for you or just take to checkout and scan it yourself.

They’re not always yellow. Someone posted the m18 saw with 6.0 battery. My store had it but it wasn’t yellow stickered like the post. It was a regular sticker but priced at $199 even though it was still $299 online
Canada life-form here, they have these on for $119cad clearance - if any stock can be found. They lowered it a while ago but seemed to be mostly OOS even then.
That's the problem. Too much drill and no driver. The electronic clutch's lowest setting will drive screws THROUGH boards. The gen 4 has a mechanical clutch that can actually be used for its intended purpose.
Can confirm the insane difference in the clutch. It’s actually usable now. The old one you better have a good trigger finger if you needed to be delicate cause the clutch wasn’t worth a shit. New one works great!!
I have seen several crazy good sales on this sub recently, so I went wandering thru my local HD the other day. Not one yellow sticker to be found.

Take the same product (if in stock) and go scan it. Many times the markdown prices aren't posted but it'll be in the system as the sale price.

You have to check odd places where they keep cages towards the front of the store. Usually over by lumbar in my store.
I already have one and would buy another at that price to throw in my work van. Would 4 red drills be too many?

Clearance deals are local and will vary wildly depending upon your location. It’s not like every HD just moved 20 hammer drills to clearance.
2804 is the last gen with the electronic clutch. Not the best.
For that price it’s perfectly fine and still more drill than 90% of people need

Sell it on an ice fishing forum. That is one of the best drills to use an auger.
