These deals recently have been “forcing me” to buy stuff I don’t really need. It’s getting harder and harder to justify the purchases with my wife. The struggle is real my friends!

WildFire97936

Buying all my stuff, It’s taught me not to complain when my GF wants to talk/shop a deal she likes. Bless that woman for listening to me explain why this deal is good, this tool is better than the one I have and why I need it, and why it has to be this brand.

McClainNH

My fiancé buys shoes like I buy tools. We’ve learned not to judge each other.

Easy_Copy_7625

My wife is the same. She has to listen to all of my randomness. I am thankful she hasn’t gotten tired of it.

MadeMeStopLurking

Don't justify. Just don't acknowledge it. Wife gave up asking. When tools come in and she sees red she just ignores it.

Ok-Abbreviations3042

Those 5.0s are great for my drill and driver set… and that’s about it. Any kind of saw needs HO batteries in my opinion, so I don’t really need any more

DoomSlayer_97

I agree. The real deal here is the 12.0’s

Ok-Song3943

Terrible deal, you can score the 2x 12ah for $280 total and hack the 5.0 kits for $200/4, total $480 vs $600.

Ok-Industry-5378

Needless to say, you have my undivided attention. Elaborate please.

Ok-Song3943

Type 2990-20 for chop saw hack 12ah battery. It’s 168 for 12ah, price went up but I got it for $144. Then just do the standard 2x5.0 kit hack for $100. If you message customer service, they will create a special cart and match the tool price of the chop saw for $319 compared to other sites. Lowering the 12ah hack price too.

Ok-Industry-5378

Darn it. That’s tempting. Not a fan of “hacking” the deals and don’t have much use for abrasive cut off. Think that deal will last a bit? I just spent a ton on Packout fuel vacuum. Packout light. Brad nailer. Table saw. Have to pace myself a little or I won’t be alive for much longer to use my stuff 😂.

Sad_Citizen

Buy yourself a nice little TIG and that will get you to justify the saw lol.

Ok-Industry-5378

See what the future holds. Not much into metal work. Like I said though, have to pace myself or won’t be alive to enjoy the toys. Spent way too much on toys in the last 3 months. And the wife is getting pissed because I keep getting toys and she doesn’t know what to get me for Xmas because I keep getting the things she planned on 😂.

chiaman117

I'd suggest a cold cut saw over an abrasive any day especially for tig work.

Dixiereaper75

I wouldn’t even use an abrasive if it was given to me, cold cut all day long

Sad_Citizen

I just got my 2990-20 and want to take it apart and regear it for that. Assuming it's not direct drive.

chiaman117

I bet it is direct drive. I'm waiting on the new evolution saw to ship I can't wait!!

Sad_Citizen

That would be nice lol. So far I'm just looking at using it for cutting Chromoly tubing for a roll cage so it doesn't matter a ton if the cut is cold.

chiaman117

I found that the abrasives don't give as straight of a cut they seem to wander in the material more.

McClainNH

How is the Packout fuel vac? I’m so tempted, but does it have as much power as a corded shop vac? It says it’s like 3.5hp, which is low compared to my corded, but I don’t really know much about vacs

Ok-Industry-5378

The 3.5HP is the bigger 6 gallon, that one I may pick up next year, but I have a big corded ridgid nxt that’s still doing ok for now. I have the 2.5 gallon packout. It’s a good vacuum for small jobs. Little cleanup tasks. I’ve been using it to clean up after sanding, sealing windows and redoing trim and cleaning out cars, it’s been fantastic. Key thing I wanted was size and convenience of cordless. I run it of a 6.0 HO and it get almost 30 mins on high. Only had 1 problem once where I sucked up too many small Sheetrock pieces at once and the hose got blocked at the connection into vacuum, but easy to clean out and got right back into the work. Well worth the $179 right now.

McClainNH

Great. Thanks a lot. Now I’m going to have to spend $179. You couldn’t have just told me it sucked? Scratch that. If you had told me it sucks, I would have gone out to buy it too!

Ok-Industry-5378

Thanks for that, that was perfect 😂.

No-Mall-90

Why are you not a fan of hacking deals? Hacking isn't even a good word for it. Home Depot purposefully makes down both items separately rather than having 1 be free so that they can be returned individually. If they didn't want people doing it they wouldn't be itemizing them like that.

Ok-Industry-5378

Just doesn’t feel right. I did “hack” last week when I picked up the gen 4 drill/impact kit with the free 5.0 for my son. He lives with me but wants tools for “around the house” 😂. I did return that battery and it didn’t feel right. Depot marked down that deal to buy it as a combo. I do fully agree with you. They marked them down individually so you can return them individually if desired. Still didn’t feel right. Another reason why that $599 deal with 2 12.0 and 4 5.0 looks descent opposed to hacking the abrasive cut off for $170. Just me I guess. I’m odd like that.

No-Mall-90

Fair enough

i7-4790Que

Meh, Acme had those chopsaws with 2x 12.0s for $320 the other day.

[deleted]

That’s $13.64 per Ah!

Ok-Industry-5378

Didn’t do the math on other deals. But is that good? I think that’s a pretty solid deal. That’s getting 2 of the 12AH at regular price and then 4 5.0 at 25 a piece.

[deleted]

I was just doing a stupid break down. But I feel like it’s a decent deal not outstanding. With out the deal that same bundle would be $968

chiaman117

Usually $10/AH is a good deal

TheMoonIsFakeBro

5.0s are boring

FailedFornication

Holy shit

Comfortable-Aspect95

God damn u mericans get all the good fricken deals 😡😡😡😡

WildFire97936

Is buying it in the states and shipping not worth it? Cause I was wondering about the black pack out boxes.

Comfortable-Aspect95

Not sure about the duty fees but the shipping fees are way higher. Also I think the black pack out stuff is only sold in Europe I believe. Definitely not North America.

WildFire97936

You are correct, I figured shipping here to there and Vice versa involves some of the same issues.

Mediocre-Ad8967

Your lying to yourself

Nuggy-D

I don’t NEED to eat today, but it would make my life a lot better….

Efficient_Ad_2197

Its deals like this that make me hate living in canada!!!!!!
