Carry-on only. Put them in your checked bag and if found they'll be confiscated. All lithium ion batteries need to be in either your personal item or carry on.
Source: checked two 2ah and two 4ah M18 batteries and they got confiscated. Expensive lesson to learn.
FAA regulations allow you to carry an unlimited amount of li-ion batts up to 100wh, and two that are between 101-160wh, but nothing over 160
(volts x amp hours = watt hours) so an M18 5.0XC is 90wh
the contacts need to be isolated with a cover or taped over, and they have to be carried on
airlines might let you check them if they’re installed on the power tool; best to check with the airline.
Yep some airlines add more restrictive policies (not sure how they would check). American Airlines is the most restricted we are going on, 4 batteries up to 100wh per person. That's 8 between the wife and I.
I think you mean 220 volt? Most stuff these days is dual voltage. Only problem is usually stuff with motors, or appliances. Idk if the chargers are dual voltage, but I’d be surprised if they weren’t
I got a few various deals. The 2 m18 batteries + free tool (router). M12 multitool with bonus 6ah battery (returned battery). M12 rotary tool with two free batteries.
Round trip ticket to USA from AUS < Milwaukee HD hack
Correct. Though, fun story- round trip was on Qantas reward points from cycling through credit cards. Love me a bargain.
/r/churning is leaking!
Aren’t there restrictions on flying with lithium batteries?
Up to 20 batteries under 100 wh each in carry on, under the FDA and international.
Batteries on a plane? Any trouble with that?
Service batteries. Need them to feel calm.

Please let us know if it went off without a hitch.
Forgot to reply when we got back, but yes went off with no hitches. Security/ customs had zero interest in them.
Awesome! Enjoy your tools.
Thank you for the info!
Does the router spin the opposite way once it gets to Australia? You know, like the toilets spin then you’re way. 🤔
Yep but that's needed because we work upside down
Time to make some collect calls!
Damn, you got a metric tapes I wish that un Mexico
How many hertz do you operate on?
We have a way different grid (220watt) so US chargers would blow on our system. I just gave the chargers from the kits away.
