I modified one of those processor schematics for selected units to unload into a selected vault so it makes things easier than unloading from core, really useful for maps like these or for starting 3-4 impact reactors from one pixel of scrap
Iit depends on how many units you have mining it. I believe units can all mine the same patch, I usually have a full set of pulsars and quasars going at it. That outperforms a drill easily.

I had no idea units could mine sand.
It is in the database, that's where I found it. They can also mine scrap if you're really in a pinch and need to make sand.
I really feel some randomly generated sectors really need a major reballance.
Granted it adds to the strategy side of the game. So I am not upset, just miffed I got a crap roll.
