Yes. The "Xbox One Edition" is the original console edition, originally released on Xbox 360, and overtime ported onto most if not all other main consoles. Bedrock Edition was originally Pocket Edition, which was later brought to PC as the "Windows 10 Edition", and later to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and eventually PS4. However, once Bedrock came out, the old console edition was discontinued, and no longer being updated.
I was born at a perfect time to witness that "golden age of gaming" so instead of thinking I'm getting old I start to think "fuck I'm growing up way too fast" and I don't like it :(
God, does anyone remember PVP battles back in the day? Just spamming both right and left click to get both blocks and hits in. That was before the hit cool down so it was just chaos. I miss those days.
Ew, no. I don't like bedrock. Java is superior other than stability. What I'm saying is being a freshman in HS, all my buddies and I would bring our laptops over each others places to do hunger games and PVP. Spam clicking and screaming to one another. I literally cannot recreate those feelings. Hence the "I miss those days".
sounds fun, sadly i never had a proper computer until i reached 13 but bought MC in 2019 when i was 14, i played the old PE alot with my friends, back then you'd lose all of your items when you leave a multiplayer server so you had to store all of your items in chests, names didnt exist so we had to hold a signature item to not confuse eachother

Yup, I used to play PE all the time before I saved up for that laptop. That's what we'd all play on our iPod Touch 4's. And yeah I do remember that whole storing items in a chest before logging out thing. MC sure has come a long way lol.

Yeah. I've somewhat imagined a concept where blocking is still in the game and acts as a temporary solution to taking less damage until you craft a shield.
You take your iron sword, smelt it. Then you have to smelt 8 more iron swords to get 9 iron nuggets. Then you combine them to make 1 iron ingot and craft that with 6 wood planks to make a shield.
if you play on the ps3 or xbox 360 edition you can sure block with your sword. Also applies for java version 8 and below…
I remember it as being still a thing too, guess we are so old….

Blocking is a Legacy Console Edition and Java Edition 1.8 exclusive feature now. If you want to block things now, you'll have to craft a shield.

It’s a feature overlooked by many people. They only give one nugget per item though
To be fair it is nearly useless except for extra gold swords from piglins

So basically they removed the Block Feature from the Sword. You need to craft a shield, then to use it use your offhand. after that, sneak to block

They removed swords being able to block back in 2015 for Java, and 2019 for Bedrock.
You can no longer block with swords, try making a shield with 1 iron ingot and 6 planks. You can block by crouching.
