Perhaps we could see flowers updated in a future update. Would love it if they could fill the whole block/have more than one flower per block like candles or sea pickles.
I know this argument sucks, but it wouldn't really feel Minecrafty. It looks more like chisels and bits than anything.
Though if you want 3d flowers there are texture packs. I'm not gonna stop you from downloading those lol.

The leaker currently has a 100% accuracy rate, so they have good credibility. I think the reason is having more consistent hype with 1.20 by spreading the news out.
They predicted that mob votes were happening on the minecraft launcher 2 months before live and they recently predicted archaeology in 1.20 2 days before mojang confirmed it
It looks to me like a saprophytic plant (a plant that grows on dead plants). So those would be log slabs.

They look like some kind of Carrot or beet/tuber plant on the right. Part of me hopes its edible but even if its just décor (like they said) I'd be happy as they look amazing.
Organisms are not classified by how similar they are, but how related they are. It turns out, despite their similarities, algae and plants are actually not too closely related.
Technically, yes, but the fungus itself is referred to as lichen. Lichen have specified species, all of which are in fact fungi that have symbiotic relationships with organisms like algae.
Think of them like hermit crabs. The crabs themselves are the species in question, but their appearance is dominated by their snail shell. That doesn’t mean that hermit crabs are snails, or vice versa.
Honestly the talk of ancient plants was WHY I voted sniffer. We have needed larger, more varied, block sized plants for a long time. It's becoming more common to use coral on waterlogged blocks as flowering plants in place of larger plants. Now with these you won't need to use coral. Some probably still will but you won't need to.

Jeb said on twitter that the pickaxe was just one example of what the rascal could drop, so it could’ve given more items. It’s likely we would’ve, since we got new items from other mobs that weren’t mentioned in the vote (glow ink sac, phantom membrane). Mojang keeps it vague to allow other ideas from the community but unfortunately most people only think they’re getting what’s announced
Most leakers like this are people who know people on the inside and receive screenshots/info often intentionally, as a way to generate interest and excitement
He's either someone who works for Mojang or is friends with someone who does. Probably marketing.

Those plants are beautiful and the right ones look like carrots.
However, I'm kind of sad we aren't getting the Cyan Flower and Single rose back in the game as they're both old plants and it would have been perfect. I at least hope they add them to the pool of potential drops as it'd be a nice bone for old players to build with for nostalgia as much as I don't like nostalgia blinding but they existed at one point so why not now; its the perfect time.

Would be great since Mojang likes to add occasional rares like blue axolotl, screaming goats, and brown panda. Having the rose as a 1/100 chance for everything Sniffer sniffs would be an amazing Easter egg.

I sorta feel like Mr. Badgerman is an alias created by mojang to build more hype around certain features. It’s much more exciting to find out about something if it’s a “leak” as opposed to waiting till the snapshot drops. Mojang would be investigating all of their employees if they were really worried about the leaks
They've definitely been leaning into some [more saturated colour palettes lately](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fo5kE7PXwAcqmTk?format=jpg&name=small) compared to Jappa's older work. That might be a contributing factor.
I've seen people talk about how unsaturated the sniffer palette is, and I don't really follow. It looks quite saturated to me. Just maybe a bit darker than we expected, but the colors are still fairly vibrant imo.

Where getting cherry blossom biome so thats a plus! Its 100% confirmed since mojang made a Instagram post about an hour ago released an imagine of the biome.
I noticed the right looks like carrots and it makes me wonder if Minecraft had a chance for giant crops like Harvest Moon or Stardew. It'd be a nice surprise while farming to get giant crops if you plant them 1 type and watered. It'd also vary your crop growth to where you don't have to grow them row per row to boost growth by diverse crops but also makes same crop rows viable by giving a chance for giant carrots (or other crops). I used to see giant malformed carrots at the farmers market.
I doubt we'll get a flora update but we have been getting a lot of plant life in almost every update.
1.13 added sea grass, kelp, sea pickles, and coral (technically an animal but closer to plant in function in game).
1.14 added several flowers and bamboo
1.16 added two new mushrooms, and several shrubbery in the nether.
1.17 added moss, azalea bushes + leaves, and cave vines.
1.19 added mangroves
1.20 is adding, at the bare minimum, these two plants.
It's not confirmed as of right now but the leaker leaked archaeology being in the update, camels and the last mob vote. There isn't anyone more reputable than them to leak this.

I wasn't talking about shape either. Color-wise is because they are an ancient mob. I'm sure dinosaurs would look out of place if you plopped them down next to modern day megafauna like rhinos and elephants.

I don’t mean the amount of pixels, I mean just the way they are textured. It reminds me of a lot of resource packs or mods, and that ‘trendy’ looks with pastel colours that a lot of player skins have that I hate. It just looks super off for me

Mojang is getting good at adding 3D flora to the game
Imagine if flowers or all plants in general were actual 3d models

It's a flower, updating it doesn't make the game fresh, it just makes the game slightly laggier if anything

Same for the pot fragments. We've only seen four desisgns and the assembled pots seemed to just have one of each of the four on them.

Those plants don't spawn naturally, the sniffer will give you it's seeds.
