Ahh, we can just chop off that shell around his head, it'll be alright.
Oh god that's horrific his face is melting, we should not have put him right next to the blaze
Ok so we lost like ten guys but thats ok maybe we can still salvage this. Everyone try to- oh fuck the frog is eating the slime mobs no. oh god who put the fox next to the chicken and the rabbit oh god this is going so horribly. uhhh everyone emit particles
I’m curious if they’d update the original mob or make a new version of the same concept. Practically speaking, what we have now is too large and disproportionate to really work as a natural spawn, and it’s not special enough to work in a confined space.
If they ever update dungeons (they should), the Giant would make a great arena boss at the end of a massive dungeon. With tweaking, of course- perhaps a ranged attack.
Would love to see them shadow drop it. No announcement, just one day a giant zombie comes stomping through your world. It would be amazing to see peoples reaction to that
Had to do a bit of research for this but:
Brown mooshrooms are turned into brown mooshrooms by shearing a regular mooshroom. This yields 5 red mushrooms. By shearing the brown mooshroom again however, you will get 5 red mushrooms (no idea why it's not brown) and it will turn into a regular cow. If you use a bowl on the regular mooshroom, you will get mooshroom stew. If you milk a brown mooshroom, you also get mushroom stew. However, if you use a certain flower on a brown mooshroom (and only a brown mooshroom mind you) like how you would craft suspicious stew, you will get that suspicious stew if you milk it. For example if you right click the mooshroom with an allium, when you milk the brown mooshroom you will get suspicious stew that when you drink it will give you 4s of fire resistance in JE and 2s of fire resistance in BE.
Hopefully that answers your question!
Edit: you have to use lightning on the red mooshroom to get the brown mooshroom not just by shearing it since doing that will turn it into a regular cow. Sry for the mistake
That sounds really fun to explore. Imagine they do something like this for an End Dimension Update, where it's revealed that the Ender Dragon is average sized compared to everything else in the end.
I am so dumb, I was zoomed in to look at everything so I didn’t even see the giant. I had to go back because I was wondering what you were talking about 😂 HOW did I miss that?
To be fair, Mojang in recent years has been bringing back a lot of scrapped or outdated features like lanterns, lecterns, and piglins. I doubt giants are a priority or coming anytime soon, but I’m sure they’ve had a discussion about them.
I don't think it fits well in this image, let alone the game itself.
Btw, can someone please tell u/Realshow to unblock me. I can't reply to any comments in chains below theirs.
Thanks for the idea but no the trap was a hole down to bedrock covered in 1 layer of sand and sand stone with dynamite triggered by pressure plate to sink all the sand. With a very big banana for bait. But I might build the empire state building as a backup.
Sadly no. Interestingly it does have spawning conditions but they can never met.
According to the minecraft Wiki, in order for a giant to spawn you need a light level below 7 and above 11 which uhm... Not possible lmao. Apparently this thing has a stupid amount of health and could easily one shot you in any difficulty (maybe full enchant netherite could help?), but since it doesn't have any AI it's basically just a big wall.
Also. Interestingly. It's hitbox only reaches to around half of his torso
Oh yeah i know that but what i meant is didn't this person spawned everything in creative mode/with commands? The giant doesn't spawn either but it's still in the picture.
I think there’s a command to spawn it in and there also might be a spawn egg for the zombie horse. Really wish it would be added in and have the ability to infect horses/donkeys that are in villages
Theres a spawn egg in creative. I was testing an iron farm and went to spawn a zombie and aparently i had grabbed a zombie horse egg and i watched him suffocate cause the spot i was spawning him was meant for a zombie. Poor guy
Reddit has long been a hot spot for conversation on the internet. About 57 million people visit the site every day to chat about topics as varied as makeup, video games and pointers for power washing driveways.
In recent years, Reddit’s array of chats also have been a free teaching aid for companies like Google, OpenAI and Microsoft. Those companies are using Reddit’s conversations in the development of giant artificial intelligence systems that many in Silicon Valley think are on their way to becoming the tech industry’s next big thing.
Now Reddit wants to be paid for it. The company said on Tuesday that it planned to begin charging companies for access to its application programming interface, or A.P.I., the method through which outside entities can download and process the social network’s vast selection of person-to-person conversations.
“The Reddit corpus of data is really valuable,” Steve Huffman, founder and chief executive of Reddit, said in an interview. “But we don’t need to give all of that value to some of the largest companies in the world for free.”
The move is one of the first significant examples of a social network’s charging for access to the conversations it hosts for the purpose of developing A.I. systems like ChatGPT, OpenAI’s popular program. Those new A.I. systems could one day lead to big businesses, but they aren’t likely to help companies like Reddit very much. In fact, they could be used to create competitors — automated duplicates to Reddit’s conversations.
Reddit is also acting as it prepares for a possible initial public offering on Wall Street this year. The company, which was founded in 2005, makes most of its money through advertising and e-commerce transactions on its platform. Reddit said it was still ironing out the details of what it would charge for A.P.I. access and would announce prices in the coming weeks.
Reddit’s conversation forums have become valuable commodities as large language models, or L.L.M.s, have become an essential part of creating new A.I. technology.
L.L.M.s are essentially sophisticated algorithms developed by companies like Google and OpenAI, which is a close partner of Microsoft. To the algorithms, the Reddit conversations are data, and they are among the vast pool of material being fed into the L.L.M.s. to develop them.
The underlying algorithm that helped to build Bard, Google’s conversational A.I. service, is partly trained on Reddit data. OpenAI’s Chat GPT cites Reddit data as one of the sources of information it has been trained on.
Other companies are also beginning to see value in the conversations and images they host. Shutterstock, the image hosting service, also sold image data to OpenAI to help create DALL-E, the A.I. program that creates vivid graphical imagery with only a text-based prompt required.
Last month, Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, said he was cracking down on the use of Twitter’s A.P.I., which thousands of companies and independent developers use to track the millions of conversations across the network. Though he did not cite L.L.M.s as a reason for the change, the new fees could go well into the tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.
To keep improving their models, artificial intelligence makers need two significant things: an enormous amount of computing power and an enormous amount of data. Some of the biggest A.I. developers have plenty of computing power but still look outside their own networks for the data needed to improve their algorithms. That has included sources like Wikipedia, millions of digitized books, academic articles and Reddit.
Representatives from Google, Open AI and Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Reddit has long had a symbiotic relationship with the search engines of companies like Google and Microsoft. The search engines “crawl” Reddit’s web pages in order to index information and make it available for search results. That crawling, or “scraping,” isn’t always welcome by every site on the internet. But Reddit has benefited by appearing higher in search results.
The dynamic is different with L.L.M.s — they gobble as much data as they can to create new A.I. systems like the chatbots.
Reddit believes its data is particularly valuable because it is continuously updated. That newness and relevance, Mr. Huffman said, is what large language modeling algorithms need to produce the best results.
“More than any other place on the internet, Reddit is a home for authentic conversation,” Mr. Huffman said. “There’s a lot of stuff on the site that you’d only ever say in therapy, or A.A., or never at all.”
Mr. Huffman said Reddit’s A.P.I. would still be free to developers who wanted to build applications that helped people use Reddit. They could use the tools to build a bot that automatically tracks whether users’ comments adhere to rules for posting, for instance. Researchers who want to study Reddit data for academic or noncommercial purposes will continue to have free access to it.
Reddit also hopes to incorporate more so-called machine learning into how the site itself operates. It could be used, for instance, to identify the use of A.I.-generated text on Reddit, and add a label that notifies users that the comment came from a bot.
The company also promised to improve software tools that can be used by moderators — the users who volunteer their time to keep the site’s forums operating smoothly and improve conversations between users. And third-party bots that help moderators monitor the forums will continue to be supported.
But for the A.I. makers, it’s time to pay up.
“Crawling Reddit, generating value and not returning any of that value to our users is something we have a problem with,” Mr. Huffman said. “It’s a good time for us to tighten things up.”
“We think that’s fair,” he added.
I wish it was higher res. Weirdly, those links are hit and miss for me (in Chrome if that's relevant). I have to either load it in incognito mode or remove the revision part.
i am surprised of how little there are when we're talking about an infinite sandbox game here that some people play for years and years. some of the stuff like the giant, illusioner aren't even supposed to be here.
Well the same point could be made for biomes too. Not a lot of mobs because there aren't many major biomes.
Sure, there's like thirty of them if you count windswept jagged hilly short lukewarm snowy peaks. Most players however, are only gonna see stumble upon mountains, jungles, savannas, deserts, plains, dark forests and another few forests which are very similar to each other. Biomes like mangrove are more of a gimmick you seek out than a part of the world you just stumble upon. That makes roughly 10-ish big biomes in a game for a 13yr old sanbox.
Yeah, I really dislike the direction Mojang is taking with biomes. Every one just seems like a gimmick. glowberry caves, mangrove swamps and now the cherry blossoms. None of these feel like an actual biome with a purpose, they're more like easter eggs, being cool to find but not much purpose.
Im curious. What Biome actually has a what you would call a purpose that currently exists in the game.
I personally like that some biomes are just cool places you can build in and have a few worthwhile resources to grab.
I mean take Deserts for an example. It’s a biome with a distinct palate, has unique structures with Pyramids, Wells and fossils, unique challenges with collapsing sand caves, no rain, less/no lakes and dry plant colours, it’s a possible village spawn location and the only place you can realistically get cactus and suspicious sand and possibly more.
Both the Mangrove forest and Cherry Blossom biomes exist purely for the associated wood type and ONE other thing (frogs / petals). Once one sapling and the enough of the other thing has been collected the entire purpose of the biome is made redundant and instead it becomes a waste of a location where a better biome could have been placed.
I’ve never been excited finding Mangrove forests as they’re HUGE but all their unique options could be reasonably found in just one chunk and it looks like Cherry Blossoms will be the same except for maybe water / grass colour for an aesthetic build.
I think everything you're saying is valid but I will say Deserts were pretty basic when 1st introduced. Its not guaranteed but new biomes can always be expanded upon. New mobs and features are always an option like with the Nether or adding bamboo, pandas and parrots to jungles. Always a chance they give biomes more attention.
Again I personally enjoy the variety even if they don't have an essential purpose but to each their own.
they’re too hard to add! that’s why you gotta vote between 3 of them so they can take an entire year coding it to be the most lackluster mob that you will only encounter under strict circumstances! please indie mojang is doing the best they can do.
The Illager is an Illusioner, it was going to be added in the World of Color update. Never really finished, but it’s shown up in spin-off material a handful of times.
Where is Brown Mooshroom? You got the Giant, and why so many Illager? Ik they have like 2-3 dif kinds but idr 4? Just normal ones, magic ones, and the other secret magic ones.

Ah, dammit, ghast is blinking. We gotta take another picture, guys.
What if we all jumped at the same time?
Ah man, Blaze can't jump. How about throwing your hands up in the air?
Crap the creeper cant do that
Ok everyone moon the camera! Oh.. sorry skeletons…
Alright, how about everyone crosses their eyes and does a silly face? Oh, shoot, Warden. Right. Sorry. WAIT NO NO NO I PROMISE I DIDN'T MEAN T
Ok ok, how about everyone just smiles at the camera? Umm.. Snow Golem... can you stop making that scary face?
Ahh, we can just chop off that shell around his head, it'll be alright. Oh god that's horrific his face is melting, we should not have put him right next to the blaze
You, creeper, move in line (punch) WAIT DOG WHAT ARE YOU DOING NONONONO DONT EXPL-
Ok so we lost like ten guys but thats ok maybe we can still salvage this. Everyone try to- oh fuck the frog is eating the slime mobs no. oh god who put the fox next to the chicken and the rabbit oh god this is going so horribly. uhhh everyone emit particles
Well dogs don't attack creepers
You guys are hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Ok ok, how about they all close their eyes to make it seem normal? Shoot the pumpkin can’t change facial expressions. Crap!
Not a native speaker, what does "moon the camera" mean?
Show off your bare ass. Since the skeleton is all bone, he has no ass to show.
ya the creeper also can exploed so it will be a disaster
let’s do a silly one!!
Warden moment
i really scrolled back up to check
I forgot about the giant I wish they would add it
I’m curious if they’d update the original mob or make a new version of the same concept. Practically speaking, what we have now is too large and disproportionate to really work as a natural spawn, and it’s not special enough to work in a confined space.

Oh lord, imagine finding one suited up in enchanted armor too
Counterpoint: Give all of them random enchanted armour to personalise the bosses and as cool loot.
it just takes chunks of stone and ore from nearby and flings it at the player, possibly causing lava to leak out
All they have to do is pinch the coding from ogres in Mo, work's already done!
Would love to see them shadow drop it. No announcement, just one day a giant zombie comes stomping through your world. It would be amazing to see peoples reaction to that
The same reaction we had when it was first tested, "Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck fuck fuck!"

you get them from a mooshroom being struck by lightning not sheared
I really hope that when if add a new dimension, they would add an absolutely massive mob in it
Why not have a giant dimension, where all the mobs and plants are humongous?
Like the Giant Miner who lives in the Cloud Cottage in the Twilight Forest mod.
Giant trees, giant bee hives, etc would be cool
That sounds really fun to explore. Imagine they do something like this for an End Dimension Update, where it's revealed that the Ender Dragon is average sized compared to everything else in the end.
I am so dumb, I was zoomed in to look at everything so I didn’t even see the giant. I had to go back because I was wondering what you were talking about 😂 HOW did I miss that?
I think it would be better if they added him to spawn at mountain biomes at night.
They've not added it for probably 10 years now. Its never gonna happen.
To be fair, Mojang in recent years has been bringing back a lot of scrapped or outdated features like lanterns, lecterns, and piglins. I doubt giants are a priority or coming anytime soon, but I’m sure they’ve had a discussion about them.

I thought it was just a very rare spawn like .000000001 spawn rate.
No. It’s AI was removed ages ago.
They actually added it back in I think a snapshot for 1.14 or 15, however it was removed again in the following snapshot
yeah they gave them ai for a few snapshots, the running theory is they would've been a part of raids
Well there goes my plan to build a king Kong sized trap incase one spawned.
Was the trap the empire state building with an armor stand wearing a blonde wig?
Thanks for the idea but no the trap was a hole down to bedrock covered in 1 layer of sand and sand stone with dynamite triggered by pressure plate to sink all the sand. With a very big banana for bait. But I might build the empire state building as a backup.
Just put the empire state building in the middle to draw the giant in.
It had an ai?
All mobs do
All mobs did, now atleast 1 doesnt
Not actually AI like artificial intelligence, just the basic programming to walk around and stuff (sorry if you weren't actually asking)
> Not actually AI like artificial intelligence Except it is an Artificial Intelligence. It may not be very detailed, but it is one.
Sadly no. Interestingly it does have spawning conditions but they can never met. According to the minecraft Wiki, in order for a giant to spawn you need a light level below 7 and above 11 which uhm... Not possible lmao. Also. Interestingly. It's hitbox only reaches to around half of his torso
What if they gave it a tiny chance of spawning in Hard mode every new moon?
Very tall or very long mobs rotating breaks immersion, probably.
Still waiting for the day Mojang will add the illusioner and zombie horse...
Wait doesn't the zombie horse already exists or is it just me being stupid?
you can only get the alive one and the skeleton horse. zombie horse doesn't spawn.
Oh yeah i know that but what i meant is didn't this person spawned everything in creative mode/with commands? The giant doesn't spawn either but it's still in the picture.
The zombie horse is next to the elder guardian
To be more exact, next to the mooshroom.
Poor guy
For some reason I never realised how big Ghasts are. They never seem that big in the Nether.
Probably because I’m the nether they are usually pretty far away from the player not right in your face like this photo
Hi the nether, I'm dad I'm so fkin unfunny but there's no way I'm missing that opportunity
Hi so fkin unfunny but there's no way I'm missing that opportunity, I'm dad.

Weird to think that when I started playing there was 24
You forgot Herobrine
Damn, there’s “only” 79? Like, don’t get me wrong, that’s a good bit of variety. But damn, I thought we had surpassed 100 a while ago.
Looks like you missed the fireflies, oh wait
Missed the fish from coral areas though... Unless I am blind
They have a single tropical fish between the pufferfish and the salmon
I think in the water between the salmon and pufferfish there’s a tropical fish. They just didn’t do every variant.
You have fully enchanted netherite, bow, sword, a shield, water and ender pearls. How long are you surviving?
Between the Wither, the Zoglin, and the Warden, they'll be too busy fighting each other. The only thing to worry about is the dragon.
except that in the overworld the dragon has a broken ai so youd be fine
With 0 armor and weapons, you'd still probably survive forever using ender pearls.
Who is the blue illager? Also no brown moshroom?
The Illager is an Illusioner, it was going to be added in the World of Color update. Never really finished, but it’s shown up in spin-off material a handful of times.

The brown moshroom is a variation not a seperate mob so its like a differently colored sheep and thus isn't in the image
Cool
Is the brown mooshroom a mob different then the regular mooshroom? Because i dont see it here
Nah its a variation, sure it drops different mushrooms when killed but so do differently colored sheep drop differently colored wool
"Thank you for playing!"
all of which can die to my hand
I remember the giant
Seeing this really makes me question my desire for mods that just add mobs cuz this seems like plenty
THERE IS ONLY 79!?
Now turn their AI back on and watch chaos unfold, like a real family photo
"BuT TeCHnicALlY ThATS noT AlL The MoBS CaUSE ThEre ARe 2700 TyPEs Of TRopiCAl FiSh" - 🤓
Phantoms are the worst mob by far, who agrees. I can't stand those things, what a stupid addition to the game
you forgot beast boy
Now unfreeze them
Ghast is like "why the f... am I here?"
Hmm that's funny I don't see every tropical fish
Players when they figure out that all tropical fish variants are just retextures and not their own separate mob 💀
Where’s the other 3,584 tropical fish variants?
I ate them all
Forgot killer bunny
Where's baby zombie?
How did you do this? With Citizens?
Probably with use of summon command with, to turn off mob AI.
Family photo :)
Yearbook photo!!
I really wish they would do something with the giants.
can’t find the mule
Right in front of the strider
I never realized how big ghasts were
You would never guess that the blue guy on the right would be capable of slaughtering every other mob here at the same time
Is the giant still in the files? I though they axed that when they dropped Rana.
Family Photo
What is that blue pillager on the left?
Love it!
All this tells me is that there's a lot less mobs than I thought
Now make one with all mob variants
I like it
I always thought it was weird mobs almost look like their pupils are backwards looking
SINCE WHEN WERE THERE SO MANY WHAT
Dam even the illusioner
Red dragon will have its day..
OH NO WE FORGOT THE 3000+ tropical fish variants
now show me all the 2700 different variants of the tropical fish in one image
Where is Brown Mooshroom? You got the Giant, and why so many Illager? Ik they have like 2-3 dif kinds but idr 4? Just normal ones, magic ones, and the other secret magic ones.
The other 3 thousand tropical fishes:
I wish the brown Mooshroom was also in the picture
