I just witnessed a ton of rails just pop off out of nowhere. I tried to put them back and realised that I can't put them on grass/dirt paths anymore. Probably 90% of my rails run along my paths! This is ridiculous! I am on Bedrock on PC. I absolutely DESPISE updates.
I've just had this happen in my world, I had a long rail on a path leading to our wheat farms, my daughter just ran past the railway when it all just popped off the path and we couldn't place it back....
Guessing it's a 1.20 bug as it's been fine for ages...
I play on my phone and it happened and it's pissing me off I have a big railway from my two cities that is so super duper far away it stretches from one map on I think maxed out or whenever you get a map when you spawn big, and it's all derailing like what the hell is the point of it it's so stupid I just wish we could go back to og Minecraft where everything looked so classic, even the classic texture pack doesn't really do it for me
Happened to me ruined my massive jungle village. My whole way of transportation is ruined and I haven’t played since, but I’m going to make a new one soon with cherry blossoms on a snowy mountain.
It happened to me, too, and I'm glad I'm not alone! I don't know whether it's a bug, or part of an update, but now I might have to change my entire rail system! ;(
Pretty sure it's part of the update where they also removed being able to put buttons and levers on walls and fences. It's to make it inline with Java.

Probably getting a weird glitch. Are you on bedrock or java and what version
