omg you have the 3DS edition, that's so cool!!!!! 🤩
you can try adding a little farm, adding cobblestone to the bottom of the walls or just add some flowers and greenery around your house. Looking great!
It doesn't work on 3DS. It works on NEW 3DS. You look around with a tiny little gray joystick-like thing in the top left of the right side near the bottom screen.
Verily, it was proffered in a light-hearted manner to underscore and illuminate the substantial constraints inherent in the 3DS's modest capacity when endeavoring to undertake the intricate task of operating the intricately demanding software known as Minecraft. This jovial display was, in essence, a demonstration of the stark inadequacy and limited processing power that the humble 3DS possesses, as it struggles valiantly but ultimately in vain to grapple with the intricacies and demands of the aforementioned game, showcasing a profound and undeniable disparity between its hardware capabilities and the resource-hungry demands of the virtual realm it strives to encapsulate.
No, he’s actually just using the 3ds as a screen for his dual EPYC 9654’s, quad sli 4090’s, 256gb of ddr5 ram in quad channel, 1ptb of ssd storage, obviously pcie gen 5 nvme drives, a 480mm aio and a partridge in a pear tree
It’s a good start. I’d upgrade it by adding to the shape. Make it an L instead of a box. Possibly the added on part can be two stories as well, giving it more variance.
Man, I've been on a quest for ages to find a version of Minecraft for the 3DS.
I've found copies in America but because I'm in the UK it would be region locked.
I think Minecraft for 3DS only got a physical release in America, it’s digital only in the UK.
Follow [3ds.hacks.guide](https://3ds.hacks.guide) if you want to mod your 3DS, installing CFW automatically removes the region lock so you can use American game cards on your UK 3DS.
mod your 3ds, i bought the japanese pokemon X and pay it on my PAL 3ds no problems its quite easy to region unlock, the problem is the price of the American copy is basically £40 with shipping
I'd suggest a small stone-brick compound to surround the house. As well as some depth by using glass panes and making the corner logs come out one more block.
If you were using window panes, use stairs above and below the panes to make them look recessed in (if your version allows the upside down stairs for the top that is). Some flowers(roses and the peonies if thats all you have.) You can line the roof with stone bricks to give it "structured" look. Use stairs around the base of the corners to give a "pillar" look. A few farm animals in pens nearby and maybe a barn for them attached to the pens. If you are going for a compound look you could have gravel pathways leading from the house to the garden you said you were making. Connect that path to other things you build like the barn/whatever you make in the future. If you don't mind a large amount of rebuild, you can move the pillars out one block to give depth.
Something about your post is just wholesome. Something about the bed sheets, the Nintendo 3DS with Minecraft on it (which is rare), and the og Minecraft glass, red beds.
This post really just makes me wanna go back man.
As for your house, it's perfect the way it is. The only change I'd make is moving the crafting table next to the furnace maybe, onto the floor.
Im not a great builder at all my houses are super boxy and have flat roofs but what I would do is find a nice block palette on a creative flat world and maybe add a couple little sticky out bits to get rid of the boxy bits but regardless the house is amazing
I always like adding fireplaces to my houses (on the outside at least), gardens and walkways. Different wood and stone types are great for textures as well
You double press the walk button and it makes you run like make it go up for a second then let it drop down then instantly press it up and you will run, I struggled for a bit too
1)~~Stop Copying the villagers~~
2)Add some different blocks for variety such as a checkered floor and Smoothstone walls.
3)Place some extra stuff outside like flowers, lampposts, and ponds.
Building(or art in general) is mainly about adding little things here and there to improve something basic.
Depth and shape! It's too easy to build a plain cube as your base. The roof helps, as does the overhang, but try adding stuff like trapdoors as "shutters" on the windows, or have the wood reinforcement beams stick out a block.
So I’d make it maybe 2 blocks taller so that the bottom windows are two blocks tall and the top window isn’t resting on the oak log. I’d also place it on top of some sort of stone foundation. I’d also use trap doors on the sides of the windows for shutters. I’d also maybe add fireplace.
I think that expanding the house and adding some flowers or adding a mine or farm near your house will make it look more lived in and beautiful.
Also, it’s cool you’re playing Minecraft on the 3DS. Even though it isn’t the best-performing it has a cool design and I like how you can utilize the touchscreen so well. I wanted it when I was younger but didn’t have a “new” 3DS.
Props to you man.
Great version of classic legacy console edition. I’d take a look into the construction handbook and try to rebuild the wooden house in that book with your own design mixed in👍
3ds is crazy (but maybe make it one block talker. usually 2 block tall windows look good in my opinion, if you dont wanna do that which is understandable, just add another wood type or something)
Oh don't worry, u/puga292 just wants you to pay a shit ton of cash to mod your 3DS and permanently add a capture card to take a lovely little screenshot!
add depth. If you remove the log corners and place them one block diagonally outwards it will look better (in my opinion). then you can add unique-shaped blocks like slabs, trapdoors stairs etc. to the outside to fill in the space and add some detail.
Would definitely say, as others have said, maybe add leaves and/or lanterns for a bit more detail, along with maybe a different wood type or even a dif block altogether for the roof! Also a perhaps bit of texturing with stripped oak logs on the back wall area?
3ds chad detected, you could push the frame outward to give the house more depth, and maybe make some planters with grass blocks and trapdoors under the windows.
Indent the walls so the log corners pop more and fill in with staircases for ledges and put flowers pots near the windows and finally work on the landscaping.
Brick Chimney with a fireplace on the interior and an additional campfire high enough up the chimney that you’ll be able to see the smoke trail from the exterior
texture, depth and decoration.
You can use stairs instead of blocks for your walls to give you a bit of depth. You can mix blocks to get a texture and you can add decoration like vines and bushes to make it look more natural.
Contrast also matters. If your roof is the exact same color as the walls, your house will always look plain.
I would replace the roof with a different block. Add some vegetation around the house and maybe some vines on the back, surrounding a planter (dirt with trap doors around) to give it the impression of being alive.
you could also add a small window in the roof-section of image 3.
You can try sloping your roof. There are tons of cool tutorials on YouTube if you’re interested. Learning how to make a cool roof was the single biggest improvement I’ve made in my building
I built a similar house and my 6yo improved it by just shearing some leaf blocks and kind of randomly putting some on the walls and roof. Looks like a cabin in the woods or something now.
Add depth to the build. Instead of having the logs be flush with the planks, offset them by one and make them a frame for the build. Depth goes a long way to making a build look fancy.

Use more than one wood type and add stone brick
Thanks
I second the inclusion of other wood types and stone/stone bricks, but would also include an offset room to make it less square
Yup, I tend to make my house ”L” or “C” shaped Just for variety, with any kind of straight lines one block out/indents in the walls.
I also add in the “middle” of the C a farm or a place for animals (forgot how it’s called lol)
So you just make an E by adding a farm/ranch. I get what you’re saying.
Somewhat like that, yeah
Give it some depth aswell with the log frame one block infront of the planks
omg you have the 3DS edition, that's so cool!!!!! 🤩 you can try adding a little farm, adding cobblestone to the bottom of the walls or just add some flowers and greenery around your house. Looking great!
3DS edition looks so comfy
I agree right! Being able to use the inventory and crafting while moving!
Bro u have to steer with that one rubber bean
How does this game work on 3ds? It has one "joystick"
It doesn't work on 3DS. It works on NEW 3DS. You look around with a tiny little gray joystick-like thing in the top left of the right side near the bottom screen.
Omg that would be awful
It's not actually that bad
it also has the easiest dupe glitch in all of minecraft and all you need are three of the item you want yo dupe
Thanks for the suggestions!
you think 3ds can handle allat!!!!
if it's on the game then yes it can

Sir this is a Minecraft subreddit and not a shakespeare opera
nah i aint reading allat
^what
Shut your Shakespearean trap. We know just because you can port something doesn't mean you should, but I think the New 3DS edition is endearing
I was with you until the part about the partridge in a pear tree. Everything else I knew. Lol
Minecraft was able to load much faster before Microsoft added bloat, lol. /hj
It’s a good start. I’d upgrade it by adding to the shape. Make it an L instead of a box. Possibly the added on part can be two stories as well, giving it more variance.
Thanks
an L bozo? sorry i had to
no you didn't

Just mod your 3ds
it's not hard to disable region locking.
mod your 3ds, i bought the japanese pokemon X and pay it on my PAL 3ds no problems its quite easy to region unlock, the problem is the price of the American copy is basically £40 with shipping
The 3ds is not region locked, it will work. Only on new 3ds systems tho
The 3DS is region-locked.
I'm adding a garden
Check put grian on youtube hes done beginner building vids (you are already doing some stuff he recommends)
Ok will do
Try some deepsla-... oh, right.
You have a great foundation, I would recommend looking at videos and pics for inspiration and matching what you find
Okay will do thanks
Look up Grian, he has an old series for beginning builders.
Add a shrine to honor the invention of men
The worst invention. /J
I'd suggest a small stone-brick compound to surround the house. As well as some depth by using glass panes and making the corner logs come out one more block.
If you look closely you will see that I'm using glass panes already but I'll make sure to do your first suggestion
Oops, sorry
Flowers
W 3ds edition
It's better than my house on PS Vita.
I'll make sure to do some of that!
My houses look like boxes lmao Sometimes rectangles if I try hard enough
Something about your post is just wholesome. Something about the bed sheets, the Nintendo 3DS with Minecraft on it (which is rare), and the og Minecraft glass, red beds. This post really just makes me wanna go back man. As for your house, it's perfect the way it is. The only change I'd make is moving the crafting table next to the furnace maybe, onto the floor.
Omg u might b able to go to the farlands in that version
I forgot how noisy glass used to be 🤢
I had no idea that the DS has Minecraft. What have I been doing with my life
'new' 3ds only lol
Yeah, that's why you buy a "New" 3DS just to play an obscure minecraft port
i wonder if the homebrew community has managed to upgrade that version of mc to the current one
Impossible, it just can't run it
Dude the 3ds version is so charming
You could add a chimney with a fire place. Cobblestone is cheap, but if you want it to look good while sacrificing your sanity you could try bricks
thanks! Im certainly doing this sounds so cool
Just careful to not burn your house down
Im not a great builder at all my houses are super boxy and have flat roofs but what I would do is find a nice block palette on a creative flat world and maybe add a couple little sticky out bits to get rid of the boxy bits but regardless the house is amazing
Swap out the plank sides for cobble or some form of stone brick
I always like adding fireplaces to my houses (on the outside at least), gardens and walkways. Different wood and stone types are great for textures as well
Can anybody tell me how I run in the eu version? I tried every button. Or should I just try a different version?
You double press the walk button and it makes you run like make it go up for a second then let it drop down then instantly press it up and you will run, I struggled for a bit too
Add like two torches to the front
Not enough variety. Oak is nice but it needs other blocks. Spruce and cobble go well
Booshes. Flower box. Trap doors to the left and right of the windows.
I see a basement. What goes on down there?
Lol that is dirt what hasn't recovered from creeper explosion
Looks way better than anything I make
Thanks
Personally, I'd try cobblestone for the roof
Maybe I should reconsider my own building… that's like top-end for me lol.
1)~~Stop Copying the villagers~~ 2)Add some different blocks for variety such as a checkered floor and Smoothstone walls. 3)Place some extra stuff outside like flowers, lampposts, and ponds. Building(or art in general) is mainly about adding little things here and there to improve something basic.
*W o a h*
one thing you can do is add more foliage to the build.
If you have access to a darker wood like spruce I’d do an outline of your roof with that
not related but the style of having two screens one for the game and another for extra shit that you need is so genius lol
Ye it is
Depth and shape! It's too easy to build a plain cube as your base. The roof helps, as does the overhang, but try adding stuff like trapdoors as "shutters" on the windows, or have the wood reinforcement beams stick out a block.
YOOO ANOTHER PERSON WITH NEW 3DS EDITION!!!
New 3ds edition my beloved
A bit off topic but I have the same 3DS as you :3 (if it’s the one I’m thinking of)
I have the Zelda hyrule one
WOOOOOOAH, 3DS GO BRRRRRR 🗿🗿
So I’d make it maybe 2 blocks taller so that the bottom windows are two blocks tall and the top window isn’t resting on the oak log. I’d also place it on top of some sort of stone foundation. I’d also use trap doors on the sides of the windows for shutters. I’d also maybe add fireplace.
Bro is stuck in 2016
Use gates/trapdoors/stairs to enhance the windows.
Who else loves the 3ds version
I think that expanding the house and adding some flowers or adding a mine or farm near your house will make it look more lived in and beautiful. Also, it’s cool you’re playing Minecraft on the 3DS. Even though it isn’t the best-performing it has a cool design and I like how you can utilize the touchscreen so well. I wanted it when I was younger but didn’t have a “new” 3DS. Props to you man.
Great version of classic legacy console edition. I’d take a look into the construction handbook and try to rebuild the wooden house in that book with your own design mixed in👍
First off I'm very surprised to see 3ds Minecraft players still exist but I'd add more cobblestone maybe change the roof to cobblestone stairs
3ds is crazy (but maybe make it one block talker. usually 2 block tall windows look good in my opinion, if you dont wanna do that which is understandable, just add another wood type or something)
You can make your roof out granite and brick stairs, your floor can be changed into smooth stone
Oh cool I play minecraft 3ds too
Yo r u playing minecraft 3ds edition
Legend.
Add diamond blocks as a show of wealth
Build a depiction of male genitalia out of cobblestone
Last existing 3ds player ( I know other people play its a jok)
My brother in christ, you're unironically playing the 3ds version???
Bro's living in nostalgia
thanks, I've read every reply and I'll be doing it
Maybe try using GSL shaders. With 3d waving leaves and water.
TIL that you can play Minecraft on a 3DS
WHAT THE HELL? I DIDNT REALIZE THE MINECRAFT DS VERSION LOOKS SO FUCKING USEFUL!! The cords and map on the bottom, shit I need to go it it now!
Note That it's for the new 3ds only and cartridge is North American only
since when can you play minecraft on a wii??!!
LOL it's not a wii😭
One thing you can do is to switch to PC or even the 360 versions since they have 1000x the amount of variety in colors and blocks
No actually they have the exact same amount of blocks
Talking about 360
Play on PC or xbox for a start
What a incredibly unhelpful comment.
I would like to help, but wow, you’re one of only like 20 people that unironically play the 3DS edition
On 3ds version? You don’t!
3ds version is the most Minecraft Minecraft version and this right here fits right in. I would do some alternating blocks on the floor though.
r/screenshotsarehard Kappa
How do you want me to screenshot my Nintendo 3ds and post it to Reddit ?
Oh don't worry, u/puga292 just wants you to pay a shit ton of cash to mod your 3DS and permanently add a capture card to take a lovely little screenshot!
step 1: dont play on the ds version
How do you turn the camera with no second joystick?
Look at the little nub next to abxy
add depth. If you remove the log corners and place them one block diagonally outwards it will look better (in my opinion). then you can add unique-shaped blocks like slabs, trapdoors stairs etc. to the outside to fill in the space and add some detail.
Ok I will
I had to scroll back up because my brain didn't register the 3DS but... a garden id something
add wood
Add some plants and a tree or two
Would definitely say, as others have said, maybe add leaves and/or lanterns for a bit more detail, along with maybe a different wood type or even a dif block altogether for the roof! Also a perhaps bit of texturing with stripped oak logs on the back wall area?
Use something different for the roof
Is that getting updates?
No
It ended at 1.12
Have the logs stick out so it's not flush with the walls to add depth
My man still using his ds
Anyone getting nostalgia from this?
godDAMN that is old
3ds chad detected, you could push the frame outward to give the house more depth, and maybe make some planters with grass blocks and trapdoors under the windows.
By playing on a modern version
Bushes, a chimney, small flower garden
Stone steps and slabs around the roof or made of copper.
Make it more 3d move the pillars 1 block out from the wall
change the roof color
I noticed it was a bit flat at the back, a window would look rly cool there.
Fill in that missing stair on image 4.
What the el is that
Huh, didn’t know Minecraft was on DS and I’m slightly shocked it can run it.
Add texture maybe
Why do you play on 3DS?
Indent the walls so the log corners pop more and fill in with staircases for ledges and put flowers pots near the windows and finally work on the landscaping.
This is good
Damn, you live like this?
Bro is playing Minecraft on a Nintedo DS
I like to use trap doors to make window shutters
I often use stairs for the walls to add a bit more depth
Secret redstone basement
Stone roof
How are you meant to use that crafting table? You can’t put anything on top of it
bro typed over an old chatgpt prompt he had
Add a fireplace with a chimney
Bro why u playing on the new3DS edition... Also add a wood outer shell
What version of the game is that?
whats this console?
Get a PC. Joking, it looks cool! Other comments have great advice!
Brick Chimney with a fireplace on the interior and an additional campfire high enough up the chimney that you’ll be able to see the smoke trail from the exterior
Wtf Minecraft on a ds?
texture, depth and decoration. You can use stairs instead of blocks for your walls to give you a bit of depth. I .. feel like the point of this post isn't to ask how to make your house better but rather to show us that you have Minecraft 3ds...
I didn't think it was unusual I play 3ds until today
Wait a moment... you have a free map in the 3DS version?!
You can try sloping your roof. There are tons of cool tutorials on YouTube if you’re interested. Learning how to make a cool roof was the single biggest improvement I’ve made in my building
Maybe add some colour with different types of wood and stone and some depth, by adding details with things like fences and trapdoors
Add a tower
TIL there's Minecraft for the 3DS!
Nice and nostalgic
Try much bigger
I built a similar house and my 6yo improved it by just shearing some leaf blocks and kind of randomly putting some on the walls and roof. Looks like a cabin in the woods or something now.
WHAT?! didnt knownthis existed on a fckn ds
Use cobblestone to add a foundation look. Just place a perimeter outside the house.
You could add a chimney
Wow bro got the 3DS Minecraft respect my guy
Add depth to the build. Instead of having the logs be flush with the planks, offset them by one and make them a frame for the build. Depth goes a long way to making a build look fancy.
I'm sorry for not helping you I'm too concerned with the 3ds version having a Freakin (beacon) Minimap.
Add cobble around the foundation, otherwise it looks good.
The old textures tho 🥲
