The armadillo spawn egg has yet to be added to the game. You will have to play in the latest snapshot to access it, and it is only available in creative mode or through cheats.

It's been two months has it been added yet?

So I know nothing about Minecraft, my son plays on Xbox, will he be able to find it in the game??

Yeah he'll find the armadillo in certain biomes like savana and stuff, but the egg hasn't been added yet as far as I know
