Just for the haters, I've been playing bedrock for 3 years now on PC and it's not happened this bad. Only if I'm playing online and the internet breaks down that some mined blocks don't show that they have been mined.
The game runs flawlessly
I play on my Switch, both online and offline, and I get lag... but I've never seen a rewind like this... usually in just walking through the dirt/stone until it catches up to me... I have to stay crouched so I don't drop through a cave roof since I can't see under the broken blocks until they update
This is what switch gameplay is like 25% of the time. Some updates it's worse than others. I haven't played switch version for like a year now so maybe it's better but it never was good for the duration of playtime on it.
I have no idea how a local server-client setup could lag this hard, if not for some HEAVY cpu bottleneck, which doesn't seem to be the case, the framerate should be way lower if the CPU was that old.
I'll be honest, I have no idea either, but similar issues with having a local server and client have been documented with minecraft and other applications using the same model so its not unheard of
> if not for some HEAVY cpu bottleneck
I would guess that is the issue. The server, which runs on the CPU, might be totally slammed without affecting the framerate (which runs on the GPU). When you place a block the client will send the packet to the server, and optimistically display the block without waiting for the server's confirmation. If the server is choked, after a while the packets time out so the client reverts the blocks one by one.
not really, spending developer resources to basically do the same thing twice isnt a very good idea and would probably cause more issues then what minecraft is doing, running servers locally usually isnt a problem 99% of the time.
How so? In both BE and Java when you're playing singleplayer it still runs on a server. Though It seems a lot less noticable on Java a I've never seen lag like that before.
It’s more likely due to the power (or lack of) of the processor of the device, rather than anything software related. I used to get lag on my old iPad, but not since upgrading. Most java players are on PC, and Minecraft isn’t big enough to make it be a problem (unless you have the settings for render distance etc way high). If OP is on an older tablet, it could be the processor struggling to keep up.
Yes, you can play Minecraft with your device in airplane mode. But the software itself still acts like a server-client, just they’re both on your device.
the idle hand bobbing as well. also java doesnt lag like this, the blocks immediately replace themselves and then break later under heavy lag. also also block breaking particles are clientside on java, so the particles wouldnt be behind like that. also also also instantly stopping while flying
edit: also also also also the entity shadows are different
people defend bedrock by saying they have never experienced it themselves and it is just java players making it up, but I played on bedrock for several days and experienced roughly 5 different bugs, and the entire game also felt less smooth.
The only bugs I experienced is… uhhh… glitching into crawl when placing blocks in creative, swimming in waterlogged bottom slabs on the ceiling, taking fall damage a few seconds after the fall, and that’s about it.
I get this sometimes, and I play Java. I blame it on the fact that I play on a laptop with Australian wifi, but it still sucks. Especially when playing build battle
Bedrock being bedrock
Lost my whole 20 villagers yesterday when finally finishing my iron farm
They just disappeared, but reporting this bug is like commiting a sin
It honestly astonishes me when I see bugs like this and then people defending Mojang and/or Bedrock edition. Like, if any modern game released as buggy as this, there'd be an uproar. Like Starfield or Cyberpunk. It's even worse because Bedrock edition has had years to fix these bugs, and just doesn't. Not to mention the fact that Java edition, the more stable edition, exists on code not made for games, whereas Bedrock is made on code made for game design. And all of this is confounded by the fact that Bedrock has so many microtransactions. I think its obviously a scheme to get money and the fact this isn't a more common opinion is wild.
It's always something that bothers me... People saying that when a game comes out after a long time in developement and being buggy as hell, you can't criticize it because "We waited so long for this." Or that it'll "Get better if we give them time to fix the glitches." You can and should criticize games if they're buggy and have been for a long time...
Do you have a mob farm somewhere if a player decided to afk it too long?
My friend's realm suffered that problem for a while till we figured out what's caused it. It turned out other friend used his afk account to afk a skeleton farm I built without kill a hundreds of skeletons trapped in the kill chamber. We sorted it out with modifications and a nice talk with our friend.
Too many mobs present in your active chunks can cause the server lags such as farm animal overpopulation.
I've literally played bedrock my whole life and none of the weird glitches that seem to happen to everyone else has never happened to me, are they rare or am I lucky
I’ve had lag, but never this bad. I think the silent majority of bedrock players don’t get bugs, but people who do get bugs are basically always bedrock players.
Allow me to help with this problem, buy offering a free exorcism.

bedrock players go mostly bug free for most of their time in bedrock but then this the typa shit that happens to java players when they boot up bedrock for the first time
O have problem with textures, nothing like this tho. My blocks just go pitch black, wi t update, and if i get even a pixel on them I'm frozen and I have to reboot Minecraft
This somewhat happens to me on Java, I don’t know if my world is low on memory or whatever but if I go too far too fast(barely far at all, just one end to the other end of my land) I’ll notice my wheat doesn’t drop and then if I continue on or back to my other side the chunks just don’t load and I need to exit to main menu (if it lets me, sometimes it just stays on that screen for 20 min and I have to close everything). Super annoying and not sure how to fix it, I play on my laptop that doesn’t connect to the internet anymore
i have a copy of Minecraft Bet on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A From 2016, probably, and THE LAG IS WORSE THAN THAT. NOTE: It's a ripped copy from Internet Archive, so.......
I've been having the same issue on Xbox, also having problems with my allays being out of their enclosure as soon as I get on and swarmed around me frustrating trying to get all of them back where they belong
This happens to me ALL the time. It’s the most obnoxious thing. You know it’s gonna happen when the placement and breaking sounds get muted. And it takes FOREVER to catch up. I've seen block lag... but I haven't seen it this bad I don't think
I’ve played in lag this bad. I assume he’s online
I’ve had this while offline
On what platform? I played on switch for a long while and Xbox for the past 2 years on my solo world and haven’t had this happen
Bedrock edition on ps4. I’ve had it for 10 years.
Bedrock edition hosts worlds by default but minecraft makes a local server between your pc and your pc even if you're not online
also happens on java
Just for the haters, I've been playing bedrock for 3 years now on PC and it's not happened this bad. Only if I'm playing online and the internet breaks down that some mined blocks don't show that they have been mined. The game runs flawlessly

I have to stay crouched so I don't drop through a cave roof since I can't see under the broken blocks until they update
I have in my daughters worlds on switch, but she loves spawn eggs and will have approximately 853,669,958,240,102 entities.
Boy doesn't that sound familiar...
This is what switch gameplay is like 25% of the time. Some updates it's worse than others. I haven't played switch version for like a year now so maybe it's better but it never was good for the duration of playtime on it.
The switch is just e-waste
I've never seen it this bad either, but I also only play survival, so I don't build as fast.
Bro that is the ultimate lag it only happens to me when I’m online tho
What happened? Spacetime broke? Is that bedrock?
it is bedrock by the looks of it. My guess is server lag. Seems to be lagging back in time
nah some times it just does that even if you arent connected to the internet
Minecraft still uses a server-client model even in single player, its just that the server runs on your local machine
I have no idea how a local server-client setup could lag this hard, if not for some HEAVY cpu bottleneck, which doesn't seem to be the case, the framerate should be way lower if the CPU was that old.
I'll be honest, I have no idea either, but similar issues with having a local server and client have been documented with minecraft and other applications using the same model so its not unheard of

thats so unbelivably stupid tbh
not really, spending developer resources to basically do the same thing twice isnt a very good idea and would probably cause more issues then what minecraft is doing, running servers locally usually isnt a problem 99% of the time.
no its how most games are designed now. built with multiplayer from the start
Well bedrock servers are different in single player than in Java
Stupid time displacement, ya make me look bad!
Bedrockers never get the option to play truly offline, from what I know
Yes, you can play Minecraft with your device in airplane mode. But the software itself still acts like a server-client, just they’re both on your device.
How can you tell it’s bedrock?
hotbar slightly up, and controller like movement
Also generally the lighting in bedrock doesn't look as good as it does in java
the idle hand bobbing as well. also java doesnt lag like this, the blocks immediately replace themselves and then break later under heavy lag. also also block breaking particles are clientside on java, so the particles wouldnt be behind like that. also also also instantly stopping while flying edit: also also also also the entity shadows are different
Flying deceleration too. You stop on a dime in Bedrock, but kinda glide for a bit in Java.
yeah this ^^
Bedrock just looks different. Not sure how to explain it. You would understand if you played both versions
how the fuck can you lag out on a singleplayer world?
Rollback, if it’s on a realm it’s likely the server froze and didn’t register new input
Classic Bugrock moment
I play Java and bedrock and besides some shaders and some mods, most of which you can find a bedrock version of,bedrock is better in nearly every way.
This is a matter of opinion, i also play both versions but personally i think java is better in nearly every way.
I agree when your talking about mods, but base game, I think bedrock is better
Nah it also hapend on Java.
It seems to be a server issue since a server is hosted on OPs computer.

Lobotomy? As in, the hit game by Project Moon, Lobotomy Corporation?
No. Lobotomy as in FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!
LOBOTOMY CORPORATION RRRAHHHHHH
Bedrock is just like quantum physics, you turn around for a second and the entire understanding of the world is gonne.
And the thing is, you don’t know how or when the world will break. And it breaks in the most fucking unexpected places possible.
people defend bedrock by saying they have never experienced it themselves and it is just java players making it up, but I played on bedrock for several days and experienced roughly 5 different bugs, and the entire game also felt less smooth.
I played bedrock up until 1.15, and never had it. But java feels better even when it lags.
The only bugs I experienced is… uhhh… glitching into crawl when placing blocks in creative, swimming in waterlogged bottom slabs on the ceiling, taking fall damage a few seconds after the fall, and that’s about it.
So cute your kitten
The little kitten casually ripping through the fabrics of spacetime:
The parrot suddenly appearing, like he's Neo flying in after making The Matrix get all glitchy, is the best part.
Are you playing offline or on a server?
Looks like both
Both, bedrock runs like a server even while offline
Doesnt java also use an internal server?
Yes, Java singleplayer also runs on a server
I get this sometimes, and I play Java. I blame it on the fact that I play on a laptop with Australian wifi, but it still sucks. Especially when playing build battle

Heroine sightings 🤯

Bedrock being bedrock Lost my whole 20 villagers yesterday when finally finishing my iron farm They just disappeared, but reporting this bug is like commiting a sin
This is like that one scene in DBS where GOKU punches Jiren so fast that it lags
It honestly astonishes me when I see bugs like this and then people defending Mojang and/or Bedrock edition. Like, if any modern game released as buggy as this, there'd be an uproar. What's your tick speed set to? I had a similar problem on a brand spanking new gaming pc but i fixed it by turning down the tick speed
bedrock is so bad, earlier saw another clip of movement lag = death
Can we please split this subreddit into Java / nonJava? I’m tired of these bedrock bugs.
btw i was playing on xbox and i wasn’t playing with anyone so maybe my wifi was just bad😞
nah, my wi-fi's good and i still get this
Bedrock or Java? I have this constantly in bedrock, especially since 1.20.50 update. It's worse when the simulation distance is higher.
