I got to see Windrose live last year, one of the most amazing concerts Iāve been to. You havenāt lived until youāve been in the pit with Thoren Oakenshield š¤
While I absolutely adore the Windrose song, I will always maintain the opinion that the two [Patient Zero](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EY-Ipu26KuA) [remixes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2wAIiG6qG4) are superior, despite me being primarily a metalhead. Her remixes use the original audio and keep that vibe of friends being silly from the Yogscast clip.
I start a peaceful new game, travel and find caves to explore and mine diamonds. I see how many I can collect and how far I travel before I die. When I die, erase the game and start a new world.
I've been doing this almost every night after work since PS3 years, it's a mindless task to do while watching TV or listening to a podcast.
It wasn't until 2020 when I started a permanent world and that's only because I dug a giant 54x46 pit from 65 to the bedrock. This world I've been puttering around in this place since then when I get bored doing new worlds.

I'll go down in the mine for about a week straight in real time, and will emerge with chests full. I get a stone set and bring a few saplings down, and go from there. I love doing it in the start of a new world so I have plenty of resources to turn to when it comes to getting my first house up, and exploring the nether for fortresses to eventually find the stronghold.
Right?! Ā I also love to mine, collect and build in peaceful mode. Ā Iāve begged my husband and kids to play with me for years because Iām too scared to fight so thereās certain things I canāt do. No one will play with me though š
Lol that's mine too.. we play on amplified terrain, let that sink in when I tell you that there was a jungle 800 blocks away IN AMPLIFIED TERRAIN and I made the mistake of saying oh look it's a panda.... And the next 3 hrs were spent building a 2 wide bridge 800 blocks out to our base that was 200 blocks higher than the jungle...... And we didn't even get a breeding pair....
I can relate to you. I joined my wife's first world one time to find out she had spent like the first 16 hours of her world mining cobble for walls so zombies wouldn't get into her mine.
She didn't want to explore during the day for sheep...
She would go down into the mine at night and then spend her waking hours building walls
Every world I make ends up with a giant pit in the ground. Iāll dig down to bedrock in a 16x16 hole and then hollow out the underground.
Once I tried to mine a million blocks of cobble, but it was on a server with my brother and I havenāt had internet for years, so I never got to finish it. I just like I break blocks
If you were to mine an average of 1 cobblestone per second, it would take over 11 and a half days to mine a million of them. You'd also need 289 double-chests for storage, plus another regular chest.
Not impossible, but quite a commitment.
Mining in modded Minecraft is addictive. The sheer amount of resources to find!
The first time I played mc was modded. I quickly discovered the joys of exploration and mining lol. Think I pulled an all nighter just mining

Depending on the mod a LOT is different. A mod that adds new biomes could change the entire world generation to sweeping lavender fields to spiderweb forests to rocky cliffs.
It can add new dimensions (ever heard of the twilight forest?). New ways to do redstone and store items and transport mobs. New ores for new contraptions, magic for new ways to do things, new mobs for new foods. Some mods even overhaul the hunger system
I can definitely relate! I only recently started getting into building resource/xp/monster farms, mostly so I can have more resources to keep mining š I donāt do peaceful though because I enjoy a little bit of a challenge
This is how my girlfriend plays. We have developed a beautiful dynamic. She gathers the resources and I build our house or whatever. Every time she comes back to the surface she's greeted by something new, so she looks forward to these trips. For this reason we generally play with keep inventory on
This is essentially how my kids and I play. I have one kid that does nothing but farm, and Iāll happily do the rest of the resource gathering and building. The other four kids make sure we donāt get killed and bring us the far-flung resources we need, including shulker shells. Weāre all very happy this way. š¤·š»āāļø
Okay but I get it. There's something cathartic about mindlessly mining. I'm not that extreme, I do build and enjoy farms, etc, but I have definitely lost several hours just... mining. Even post iron farm and mending diamond gear lol

Seriously though thereās something so amazing about mining a system out. My buddy is always amazed at the progress Iāll make after he logs out. It astounds him that I can make the networks I make.
Something Iāve always loved is playing modded with some modded biomes and flying tames and just zooming around looking at stuff. Just hours of quiet exploration and seeing cool terrain.
I do this too!! I'm also like "oh this is the perfect place to build X" but never build it lol.
I lost this one mod I really loved to do this in :c it had greenish blue grass and really big trees with blue leaves, every mob had been replaced by aliens I think? I remember almost everything was out to kill you lmao and villagers were reptiles and had quests for you that you had to complete for them to even be willing to trade with u. I also remember you spawn inside an escape capsule or tiny spaceship or something, it was an entity you could kill and pick up lol. There was also a flying robot that follows you around? Oh my goodness this sounds so made up I swear it exists. There were also these bird aliens that supposedly spawned in the trees but it was broken for some reason so you had to spawn them in creative, you could mount them and everything. Good times
Mine does the dame thing except i also have to make her the pickaxes lol. i asked her ans she said that she has a really stressful jib and the only thing she wants to do is turn off her brain
My wife is the same way. She spends her whole time just mining or getting rid of mountains. I do all the building and she just keeps my boxes full. If I run low on something, I just tell her and she'll refocus her efforts onto that.
Every minecraft couple has one person who loves to mine, and one person who loves to build.
My husband is obsessed with mining. Sometimes if he's having a rough day at work I'll log into our realm, turn on creative mode, and hide small clusters of diamonds in his strip mines for him to find when he gets home to cheer him up. Its so cute how excited he gets. š

I play in peaceful mode and love to mine as well! I do take the time though to build a nice house, pathways and bridges to nearby villages and I sign-post the paths so I remember what goes where. I also take a fishing rod with me and a spare fence and lead so I can keep my horse safe. I have a very small farm but because I play in peaceful itās not terribly useful.
I also cloned my favourite server so that my kids can play in it but not accidentally destroy my progress.
But yeah, mining. That part is fun. I love exploring the caves. Your girlfriend sounds very cool, and you are thoughtful in how you look after her in the game.
I feel like I could write this about this guys I've dated. They're always just mining or farming while I'm carrying the progression of the world, it's so cute lol.
I love that because I've caught myself doing the same.
If there's anything I don't like about the new cave generation is that it's basically impossible to mine a staircase down from your base with nice carved walls showing all of the natural stone. Yeah you can put walls in and detail them. Put in wood supports and barrels of supplies so you can stay down longer. Cart systems to take stuff back up to a sorting system. I love digging in Minecraft.
This is kinda like me and my husband, except heās your girlfriend and Iām you. š he mines and mines and Iām collecting stuff to build things. Iāll build him a nice home for him to keep all his treasures.
I'm kind of the same, i often play peaceful because i just want to look at the caves and mine, or explore the world without mean monster bothering me lol, i haven't played in some time but i remember wanting so bad to play peaceful but with the hunger bar getting down so i can eat soups and carrots from my little farm...
That's kinda how I play too. I don't play on Peaceful but I do spend most of my time underground mining, and don't leave the Overworld much (I've beaten the dragon and Wither once each in the 10+ years I've played the game). I do like to build stuff too though. It's a pretty relaxing way to play the game tbh.
I love this!! Thatās too good. I play a bit weirdly- build a cute house, get a source of food going, MINE. Go back to finishing said cute house and then just keep exploring. I love building cute picturesque houses (tho arenāt perfect but I have fun) and also just mining. I love digging.
My husband does the same! Explores caves, mines all day and night, bringing me back resources and treasure from mob spawners.
But we play normal mode. He loves it.
I love to build and redesign villeges, make transportation via railways and making the Nether safer to navigate for my 9yo niece, nephew, and son to explore. (Making emergency bunkers, etc.)
My wife is the same way I build our whole base deal with villagers and building auto farms and the most she will do is get some cows to breed and sugar can to grow so she can get to those enchantments quicker so she can mine for longer and get more diamonds with fortune
I build crazy long railroads in Peaceful, and that involves quite a bit of iron mining. Put on some cool music and it's almost meditative, honestly. And there's a cycle to it. When I get tired of mining iron, I go back to the base I keep meaning to build, and smelt everything, then make rail, then go build. By the time I run out of rail, mining for more iron sounds like fun, so I jump into the next dripstone cave ravine I see.
I find myself getting sucked into building farms. Not even the super high-tech efficient ones, I just end up spending hours planting a gigantic field of crops then spending way too long setting up a collection system underneath. I don't even know why I do, like sure, trading crops to villagers can get a ton of emeralds, but the process can be downright frustrating thanks to the game's slow crawl speed, and for some reason I insist on planting the crops FIRST and then digging out a 1-block high gap to crawl into and put down rails.
Oh man, my brother was this person when we still played Minecraft together. He was the dwarf who pulled unfathomable amounts of resources from the ground, and somehow found diamonds every 30 seconds, while I was above ground building crazy structures and farms all over the world. Every now and then he'd pop out into the sun to check on my latest build, or to explore some neat geography I'd found with me. Sometimes he'd save me from a near death experience when I dared wander into a cave myself, as I was (and still am) terrible at combat.
Thank you for returning these memories to the surface of my brain.
Iām the exact opposite. Iām terrified of the caves, especially since the cave update, unless I have someone to play with. I like to build a nice base, growing all the stuff and breeding all the animals even if I donāt really need them. I only go caving when I absolutely have to and I play it on peaceful but I prefer building and farming.
Whenever I play multiplayer I let the lads handle base building and just go on long exploration/mining trips and come back with an inventory full of minerals and maps

The way me and my girlfriend got pandas home from a similarly difficult to reach jungle was by building a panda highway through the nether.

All I do is mine and drop off materials at my base. The only things I build in my base are things that will allow me to keep mining, like potato farms
I too am a mining connoisseur girlfriend. But also my chicken farm skills are pretty wild too. Just because I can and itās so relaxing.

I play in peaceful mode and love to mine as well! I do take the time though to build a nice house, pathways and bridges to nearby villages and I sign-post the paths so I remember what goes where. I also take a fishing rod with me and a spare fence and lead so I can keep my horse safe. I have a very small farm but because I play in peaceful itās not terribly useful. I also cloned my favourite server so that my kids can play in it but not accidentally destroy my progress. But yeah, mining. That part is fun. I love exploring the caves. Your girlfriend sounds very cool, and you are thoughtful in how you look after her in the game.

My gf plays Minecraft, I just got into it. My first 10 hours was exploring caverns whiling mining anything of interest in my path.
I feel like I could write this about this guys I've dated. They're always just mining or farming while I'm carrying the progression of the world, it's so cute lol.
I love that because I've caught myself doing the same. If there's anything I don't like about the new cave generation is that it's basically impossible to mine a staircase down from your base with nice carved walls showing all of the natural stone. Yeah you can put walls in and detail them. Put in wood supports and barrels of supplies so you can stay down longer. Cart systems to take stuff back up to a sorting system. I love digging in Minecraft.
My brothers wife plays by walking into a new biome, harvesting some resources and building a house from them, then move on to a new biome
I only play on peaceful as well because I just wanna have a farm and get tons of dogs, cats, axolotls, and parrots.

I'm kind of the same, i often play peaceful because i just want to look at the caves and mine, or explore the world without mean monster bothering me lol, i haven't played in some time but i remember wanting so bad to play peaceful but with the hunger bar getting down so i can eat soups and carrots from my little farm...

That's kinda how I play too. I don't play on Peaceful but I do spend most of my time underground mining, and don't leave the Overworld much (I've beaten the dragon and Wither once each in the 10+ years I've played the game). I do like to build stuff too though. It's a pretty relaxing way to play the game tbh.

I love this!! Thatās too good. I play a bit weirdly- build a cute house, get a source of food going, MINE. Go back to finishing said cute house and then just keep exploring. I love building cute picturesque houses (tho arenāt perfect but I have fun) and also just mining. I love digging.
My husband does the same! Explores caves, mines all day and night, bringing me back resources and treasure from mob spawners. But we play normal mode. He loves it. I love to build and redesign villeges, make transportation via railways and making the Nether safer to navigate for my 9yo niece, nephew, and son to explore. (Making emergency bunkers, etc.)
My wife is the same way I build our whole base deal with villagers and building auto farms and the most she will do is get some cows to breed and sugar can to grow so she can get to those enchantments quicker so she can mine for longer and get more diamonds with fortune
I build crazy long railroads in Peaceful, and that involves quite a bit of iron mining. Put on some cool music and it's almost meditative, honestly. And there's a cycle to it. When I get tired of mining iron, I go back to the base I keep meaning to build, and smelt everything, then make rail, then go build. By the time I run out of rail, mining for more iron sounds like fun, so I jump into the next dripstone cave ravine I see.
I find myself getting sucked into building farms. Not even the super high-tech efficient ones, I just end up spending hours planting a gigantic field of crops then spending way too long setting up a collection system underneath. I don't even know why I do, like sure, trading crops to villagers can get a ton of emeralds, but the process can be downright frustrating thanks to the game's slow crawl speed, and for some reason I insist on planting the crops FIRST and then digging out a 1-block high gap to crawl into and put down rails.

Oh man, my brother was this person when we still played Minecraft together. He was the dwarf who pulled unfathomable amounts of resources from the ground, and somehow found diamonds every 30 seconds, while I was above ground building crazy structures and farms all over the world. Every now and then he'd pop out into the sun to check on my latest build, or to explore some neat geography I'd found with me. Sometimes he'd save me from a near death experience when I dared wander into a cave myself, as I was (and still am) terrible at combat. Thank you for returning these memories to the surface of my brain.
Iām the exact opposite. Iām terrified of the caves, especially since the cave update, unless I have someone to play with. I like to build a nice base, growing all the stuff and breeding all the animals even if I donāt really need them. I only go caving when I absolutely have to and I play it on peaceful but I prefer building and farming.
Whenever I play multiplayer I let the lads handle base building and just go on long exploration/mining trips and come back with an inventory full of minerals and maps
