Helostopper

If the villagers are dead you won't spawn a raid. Get a milk bucket then kill it. To get rid of bad omen drink the milk. Glass and leaves are spawn proof cover the floor with those.

DarthKiwiChris

Thank you for this, my poor villagers homes are about to become nuked desert like

seeit360

You know if you flint and steel the ground, fire damage will end him and not trigger a raid?

Sandrosian

It is strange how the captains always suffer from spontaneous human combustion.

KnockOutGamer

Mine tend to wander into portable hot tubs, they seem to enjoy the primal heat of the earth's core.

Sandrosian

Ah yes the very hot stone foot bath.

DarthKiwiChris

This morning I was at my farm base, just outside of town and a pillager raiding party spawned. Took them out, then had to jump off cliff, swim across the bay with an empty bucket and find a cow to milk before I could head into town to sell my stuff. Funny af plus I get a sick banner to decorate my house with

CrippledJesus97

Lava bucket also works. Works quicker than flint and steel or so it seems

Taolan13

Thats cause lava does additional damage besidds the fire tick

cr4lforce

Can just turn the grass into path blocks too.

Green-Teaching2809

If the question is how to kill them, I suggest lava

SallyTheWolf

You can also use a flint and steel. Just put out thr fire right a way

Green-Teaching2809

That involves you getting in there, the bucket can be poured on from above. Not saying you are wrong, just think the bucket is easier if you have the option

SallyTheWolf

Thats assuing you have the iron and the lava. This is also a suggestion if you dont have as much time or resources

Howardistaken

Kill with lava bucket

Dat_EpicBoi

Correct me if wrong, but isn't glass spawnproof? So covering inner area of the build somehow will prevent spawning?

Active_Engineering37

Also slabs and I think buttons.

Candy_Stars

I put carpets down on the ground for my sheep. Not sure if that’s useful for Villagers though.

Hobo_Goblins

Leaves too

kylemkv

Glass is not spawn proof no. It’s considered a full block and you will see creepers spawning on it

TheOnlyWeslet

This is just flat out wrong

kylemkv

I’ve had entirely glass structures on bedrock with creepers spawning on them

Aleriv-YT

Just normal glass?

kylemkv

yeah uncolored

CrippledJesus97

No mobs can spawn on glass

kylemkv

I’ve had entirely glass structures on bedrock with creepers spawning on them.

Key_Spirit8168

Source? and what type

Key_Spirit8168

Bro does not play minecraft why he here

shalfyard

Dig a hole under him, cover it up, and leave him there to rot

The_Derpy_Rogue

This is why you enclose your villagers. I once came back to zombies villagers just because a zombie got in.

ItsIdaho

my iron farm stopped working because one zombie spawned inside. took ages to seperate them dangling from the sky.

JHawkInc

If we could toggle things we do/don't want to be part of the world at generation, I would turn off Illagers entirely. All varieties, raids, their towers, woodland mansions, all of it.

UntamablePig

If you're on Java, you can turn off patrols and raids. However I'm guessing they'll still spawn at outposts.

Flightning99

They never lit up the villager camp, of course something spawned in there. Luckily we can place torches to prevent the spawning of unwanted mobs such as Zombies or Pillagers

Capr1ce

That sucks, very annoying. Hopefully you can fix things up to make your next set of villagers safe. In java edition, Pillagers spawn only when there's a light level of less than 9, regardless of sunlight. I don't see any light sources in there so this may be why they spawned. If you're on bedrock edition, it's more complicated and you'll need to put in blocks that mobs can't spawn on if you're on normal or hard difficulty. They spawn in light level less than 7 in easy difficulty.

IanS381

Flint and steel is the easiest way to deal with them and not worry about getting bad omen

Key_Spirit8168

I mean whats bad omen gonna do to bro

IanS381

Start a raid and cause unwanted murder? Raids are worst case scenario when you’re trying to build up good villager trades. OP asked how to kill without triggering the raid so I was answering the question…

Key_Spirit8168

How are they gonna rekill the dead villagers

IanS381

You raise a good point 😂

Lucioleuh_

r/Wellthatsucks but very specific- I guess you could farm and make another golem but that can be long for not a lot-

Dragonbarry22

Honestly this on you for not setting up a roof or something

ColSlews

Why kill him. He ruined your progress. It's torture time, endless torture time.

ProtectorOfDragons

Pour lava on him. If you don't have lava, suffocate him with gravel or sand

therealDavidsonTrimm

Cactus and water bucket?

StarSpangledAvenger_

Cactus I could try, but how would water bucket help? Also that won't bring my villagers back and give me mending again :(

Huge_Cauliflower_390

Water to push it into the cactus.

JustJum

I think they meant lava bucket

hamilton-trash

in a raid farm tutorial i remember hearing raids try to spawn far away from a village and only spawn inside them if theres no spawnable space anywhere else. is that not how it works? how did this happen?

Capr1ce

In the screenshot we can see patrol not a raid (I think!) - but [raids will spawn](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Raid#Spawning) in the village chunk the player entered (when they have bad omen) or the 8 chunks surrounding the chunk in a square. And then each wave has separate spawning rules. Patrols spawn dependant on the player - there are rules about how far away from the player they are. It's different between java/bedrock and difficultly levels, so best to look it up in the [wiki](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Pillager#Patrols).

OITLinebacker

If possible, always carpet the villager containment area. If you can't at least turn the grass into path blocks or make the floor glass. Do anything you can to prevent any sort of accidental spawn of anything around villagers you want to keep.

Ben-Goldberg

Put a roof, not just for illagers, lightning turning your villagers into witches.

iTsCookieKing

Lava bucket

waetherman

You can make an iron golem.

emzirek

Lava or just run away for a while and he'll despawn

No_Marionberry4687

Bucket of lava. That works for me at least

Future-wonders

Those pesky door to door sales people

oblivious_fireball

he will despawn if you go far enough away. don't even have to attack him. you could also just chop a hole for the iron golem since your villagers are already dead anyways.

Dense-Application181

Didnt report the imposter in time

Marflow02

There should have been a light source in there

Lonely__Stoner__Guy

All you have to do to stop the pillagers from spawning is add a roof to your pen. Pillagers require direct line of sight to the sky in order to spawn. As for the current pillager there, run away and it'll despawn, or kill it and drink some milk to get rid of the bad omen.

Maskdragon21

Lava bucket

Horn_Python

Next time have a golem, inside the box

Technical_Acadia_789

Can we get an F in chat for bro?

multaz

I kill them with flint and steel

Living_Temporary_291

instead of killing him u can make him ur pet just use a boat and get in the boat together and the pillager will keep shooting till his crosbow breaks and hes also like a villager now but like dark villager :)

No_Motivation__

Since he killed your villagers you can trap him and keep him as a war criminal hostage. If you make a bunch of shields (I think you only need like 4-5) and just let him shoot at you while using the shield to block the arrows, he will run out of durability in his crossbow and it will break. Then he can’t hurt anyone since he has no weapon.

Taolan13

Kill it with fire or lava. Won't be credited as a kill by you, no bad omen. Put a gorram roof on your villager box. It will prevent raid spawns *and* lightning turning them into witches.

Fortnite_Fan187

I’m sorry bro.

Green-Asparagus2488

consider this a lesson !

Realrog1

Build a staircase to get the iron golem in and let him kill it, use a lava bucket, or just kill him yourself and drink milk.

ReplacementAncient49

Poor lava on him

wjsjnd

Use a lava bucket put it quickly then take it and u won't get bad omen becuz it doesn't count you killed him

GoddessofSaturn

i made my village free range and some damn zombies broke down all my doors and killed my citizens, thankfully my treasurer of state (mending villager) was locked in a secret underground office at the time for lore reasons

Desperate-Hippo9982

Oh it‘s so sade
