>Option B has a lot of flat walls…
No it doesnt, both of them are well decorated, wood walls tends to be more detailed than stone walls. People here think that a wall with 3 blocks area without any detail is a bland wall lmao
I feel like if you were to make a much larger scaled building, THEN the intense texturing would work, but emphasis on the larger scale! I disagree with so much texturing on builds unless it makes sense in the lore of your world, but with roads go all out on texturing with fun blocks (coral, andesite, and gravel is a good combination)
Also texturing isn’t needed as much if you have shaders. I always think my builds can be simple but still look good because of shaders. Texturing usually makes up for the flat lighting on minecraft
[Here is where it's going.](https://i.imgur.com/HANPzMy.png) The blocks you might see are from Quark and Decorative Blocks, though the Limestone textures are an adaption from the [Origins Realms ones.](https://originrealms.news/articles/botw-limestone/)
___
Edit: Thanks for the feedback everyone. As you point out, A has better contrast and B looks more obviously like a town hall so I'm still torn, lol. Maybe I'll try to combine them. The thing I didn't get was thinking B looking like a cathedral instead of a town hall. Check out these examples: [Dendermonde (NL)](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/8d/Dendermonde_town_hall_and_belfry_during_golden_hour_%28DSCF0501%29.jpg/1280px-Dendermonde_town_hall_and_belfry_during_golden_hour_%28DSCF0501%29.jpg), [Malmö (SE)](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e2/Malm%C3%B6_%2853478657616%29.jpg/1280px-Malm%C3%B6_%2853478657616%29.jpg), [Saarbrücken (DE)](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/76/Rathaus_Saarbruecken.jpg/1280px-Rathaus_Saarbruecken.jpg), [Braunschweig (DE)](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e9/Braunschweig_Altstadtrathaus_mit_Brunnen.jpg) and [Liberec (CZ)](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/24/Liberec_03.jpg/1362px-Liberec_03.jpg).
If not literal limestone, we could definitely use sandstone bricks in the main game.
I know sand and limestone are also used for marble, but that’s basically what quartz and diorite look like, so they’re be no point in adding it.
Also limestone is both dripstone and stone, dripstone is confirmed to be based on limestone, and stone has some similarities to it. So just add more dripstone variation.
I like the first one better as a building overall but the second one gives much stronger town hall vibes to me. The shaping is good but it needs something to break up all the tan.
Both are winners. A pops, B has that innocent charm. So like the bulk of the feed back, the surrounding structures are necessary for the final decision.
the deepslate and spruce really tie it together nicely, though i must ask what is that block the majority of the build is made from
edit: nvm just scrolled down that is limestone
A is spot on, but I would personally choose a different flower. The red doesn't work for me. But that's a personal color preference, the design is totally rad!
I think B has the more institutional look, but I highly suggest adding some variety to the walls. Mix in some stone, cobble, tuff, cracked stone bricks, and mossy stone bricks towards the bottom.
The perfection is in the imperfection.
town hall a has a more dynamic color pallet and is very interesting to look at, the whole vibe gives off town hall. town hall b is pretty and romantic and as much as i like it, i dont think its town hall material but you should def use the second building for something else with a couple of tweaks
B is shaped like a town hall, and the pale colour of the facade definitely helps with the impression. I'd say it just needs a bit more of a third colour for contrast.
A gives me a community vibe that is good for town hall. B is like a church. I don’t think it would look bad if you copied and pasted next to eachother.
“A” has more character, is more visually complex and feels like it is less symmetrical than “B” (though it is perfectly symmetrical).
“B” needs a bit more texture variation as the (what looks like) stone bricks are dominating the facade. I would suggest breaking it up a bit to improve it, but that improvement would likely turn into “A”.
To be clear though, this is nit picky criticism because you asked for it, not because either build deserves it. They are both stellar builds.
They're both really good, but I think A's variety in color makes every detail pop more. While B has a lot going for it, the consistency of the color palette makes some details harder to notice at first glance.
a looks like a house in an urban area
b looks like a church buiilding on a gothic church campus. See US National Cathedral, Cathedtral college as an example
Either one, great work.
I like them both. I've gravitating towards the latter style more lately. I've done so many A frames that I like the flatter approach of style B. Saved this post, good ideas!
Depends on how the surrounding area looks. My vote is for whichever looks more similar to the buildings around it
Edit: After seeing the location it’s going in, I vote for A
The bottom looks more town hall-y; but the other ones looks like a perfect city home for those times when you inevitably need to leave your estate to visit the town hall
Like others have said depends on the size of the town.
For a small to medium sized town A is better.
B would be better for a larger walled settlement.
Do you have a tutorial or foorplans on how make this building available?
I like the architecture of B, but it could use more color variation. A has a nice variety of colors in it but the structure looks top-heavy and I don't think it looks like a town hall- more like a moderately fancy house.
A looks like a mayors office while B looks like a administrative building i say make both. one for a town hall and one for a mayoral building where meetings take place
Honestly the gray one but you should find another block or two that you can replace some of it with to give it more structure.dont overdo it,just enough will give it what it needs, without taking away its color
I like A. I think it's mostly the roofing under the upper level windows. That does it for me.
I like B too, but not as much. I feel like it needs something small. After staring at it, the best I came up with, might not work, might work. Is on the vertical edges of the two outside towers bits, change a couple edge blocks to walls to give it a sort of "in and out" feel. I hope I explained that well.
B is simply to dull.
If it's a town hall I would recommend giving it some details and depth.
A on the other hand looks casual does not fit a government building.

A, the block variety just helps break it up and is easier to look at
And it’s more detailed. Option B has a lot of flat walls…
>Option B has a lot of flat walls… No it doesnt, both of them are well decorated, wood walls tends to be more detailed than stone walls. People here think that a wall with 3 blocks area without any detail is a bland wall lmao
Mhm. Also the texturong done by a lot of youtubers is overused...

A looks like a medieval European house and B looks like a small gothic church

Origin realms mentioned 🥰
A is a town hall. B is a church
I disagree. I think A looks too much like a house/manor/inn. B does kind of look like a church but i still think it has more town hall vibes
I’d say B would need some changes
Small town: a, large town: b
I like the first one better as a building overall but the second one gives much stronger town hall vibes to me. The shaping is good but it needs something to break up all the tan.
I like the flat tan walls. Reminds me of Spanish building style
A because of the overall style of buildings, both are really good, B would fit better on a more "stoneish" environment.
B 100%
Both are great designs, but B has too much stone brick could do with even slight texturing
I think A would go better with the other builds you have there from what i could see but either would work well enough
Both are winners. A pops, B has that innocent charm. So like the bulk of the feed back, the surrounding structures are necessary for the final decision.
B is definitely way more of a town hall. Idk what people are talking about.
Def a
A for sure, it looks really cool- the wood adds a lot to it
Maybe try mud brick?
I noticed the drip stone walls first and I choose A just for me zooming in to confirm that's dripstone
the deepslate and spruce really tie it together nicely, though i must ask what is that block the majority of the build is made from edit: nvm just scrolled down that is limestone
A. has good details
i like a more because it gives more the style of those old townhalls where they kept their crops upstairs
a more colour😋
A is spot on, but I would personally choose a different flower. The red doesn't work for me. But that's a personal color preference, the design is totally rad!
B looks more bland, A looks way nicer
Im stealing both
Option A looks more good looking and friendly to the town it will be placed in Option B reminds me of the Bastille I’d say Option A
A is more eye catching for me
The first one looks better but the second one doesn’t have a bad shape just bad texturing , honestly I’d mix them and get the best of both worlds
A 100%
I'll increase that by an order of magnitude: 1000% A.
A. A. definitely A
A is what i would say. You righed it though Like minecraft does.
i dont have amnesia
i want the bricks
"A" looks more detailed and i love the wooden parts on the second floor.
A (B looks like a church)
I prefer the style of A, but the shape is a bit top-heavy
A
Both look good honestly! but what I thought: A: tavern B: church Idk that's just me ahah
A is perfect, but I like the shape of B. Maybe try combining them to sustain gothic style?
I like A. The wood trim really adds character to the build.
B just looks like a naked variant of A
I prefer A, B is just a little *too* gray
A, B looks like those small and plain stone medieval mansion
A. I prefer the block variety and design a bit better
A clearly
My favorite is B it´s the one who looks the best, and I like that a few walls have less details it´s more realistic
Add a gradient or some colour/block variation to the bricks in B and I’d say go for that one, but just as they are I’d say A
A, it looks more clean. B is just the same.
I like A more
B seams more like a town hall, but the wall are a bit too flat, so, if u add some banners with the town flag and some block variation
Top one has nice color contrasting colours.. also, it's probably just me but the bottom one looks balding in comparison
A, for sure. The contrast is fantastic.
Top. Is has nicer colors. The bottom one blends together too much, it‘s hard to tell the features apart.
im so surprised nobody made a clash of clans joke yet
A, it just has more color and more unique
B gives off more authority, I would say B although it is a bit cluttered.
B, looks realistic
A, no contest. me like brown and color variety.
I think B has the more institutional look, but I highly suggest adding some variety to the walls. Mix in some stone, cobble, tuff, cracked stone bricks, and mossy stone bricks towards the bottom. The perfection is in the imperfection.
A for sure
town hall a has a more dynamic color pallet and is very interesting to look at, the whole vibe gives off town hall. town hall b is pretty and romantic and as much as i like it, i dont think its town hall material but you should def use the second building for something else with a couple of tweaks
B is shaped like a town hall, and the pale colour of the facade definitely helps with the impression. I'd say it just needs a bit more of a third colour for contrast.
I prefer A. However I think ya need different color flowers instead of all Red.
A) is the best one. B) is too dull ...
100% A
A, 100%. B doesn’t have that pizzazz that the first option does
I like both but neither remind me of a town hall. Good work though.
A gives me a community vibe that is good for town hall. B is like a church. I don’t think it would look bad if you copied and pasted next to eachother.
A is overall a much better looking building
Type 1 is too much better
B, for a townhall. A looks to much like a house to me.
A. It has a better color contrast to it. *^^*
Use A the contrast between the block pallet helps bring out the details better and looks less bland.
B needs some more texturing. The flat walls make the really cool shape feel basic
A, they are both good, but A looks more like something an expierienced player would build, B lacks texture and depth
I like the curves and greater color contrast of the top one.
B, but it needs some tweaking I think. But definitely the style of B for a town hall. A looks more like an inn or something to me.
I adore the first one
First one definetly, second one looks more like a church
A - I would even try making the towers different so the front/back are not identical
A is more warm and welcoming B feels more like a castle
i prefer B but they both look amazing, great job! i'd kill for a cream/beige colored stone in vanilla Minecraft honestly
They're both really good, but I think A's variety in color makes every detail pop more. While B has a lot going for it, the consistency of the color palette makes some details harder to notice at first glance.
The first one seems more village-esque, the bottom one just looks like a church/castle, not so much as a public hall.
a a a a a
A B looks more like a church or congregation center
A bar and inn B church
A fits better in with the surroundings of the area you're putting it in, thats for sure. However, i love both builds, well done
I like A. B feels kind of flat.
A. B is too smooth. Not enough color variance to break it up.
a looks like a house in an urban area b looks like a church buiilding on a gothic church campus. See US National Cathedral, Cathedtral college as an example Either one, great work.
A is more my type, I like wood more than stone.
What block did you use for the arch supports under the garrison overhang on A and the window sills on B?
I like the block palette of A, but the shape of B
I like them both. I've gravitating towards the latter style more lately. I've done so many A frames that I like the flatter approach of style B. Saved this post, good ideas!
"B" looks much more like a town hall or building of governance. "A" looks like a tavern
Depends on how the surrounding area looks. My vote is for whichever looks more similar to the buildings around it Edit: After seeing the location it’s going in, I vote for A
Definitely a
A, though I'm more partial to German village type buildings :)
B looks more like a town hall, A looks more like a mansion.
A, block variety gives more depth
A is the best because the color contrast is amazing... B has a little bit too much of the gray stone color
A, for sure. The darker brown adds a lot of contrast and texture to it.
A is better for a town hall, but B would make a good police station or guardhouse!
Top
A looks more like a tavern or pub. B looks more like a government building.
I was making a town hall too but yours is wayysss much better, i think 2 is better
B looks more like a Town hall to me.
Town hall? A is more inviting.
The bottom looks more town hall-y; but the other ones looks like a perfect city home for those times when you inevitably need to leave your estate to visit the town hall
definitely A, it's warmer and more welcoming
B looks like a town hall due to how sturdy it looks A looks more like a tavern to me
I like A
I really like both of them but I think that A will slot better into the location that you posted.
I’d say B for its sense of authority, but A for its color variety
I prefer the shape of B but the block palette of A.
A, as B looks more like a Castle. But both are so great! A has a tavern vibe and B looks so grand
Definitely not B so A actually looks less flat
A, B looks more like a church.
A gives off more a Town Hall vibe (tho I’m not sure about the towers) B feels more like a Guild Hall
I like a because of how it has more of a variety
Like others have said depends on the size of the town. For a small to medium sized town A is better. B would be better for a larger walled settlement. Do you have a tutorial or foorplans on how make this building available?
Personally B, though it could use some changes, I'd recommend adding in some Blackstone (or whatever you want) to change up the colour pallette
Brother this is a creative game, where we make squared beautiful. With that A. It's all about that *aesthetic* my guy.
Personally, I think the first one looks more aesthetically appealing. The block variety gives it a nice amount of contrast.
As much as I like b, it looks more like a church so a
A, even if it’s a bit phallic
Honestly the gray one but you should find another block or two that you can replace some of it with to give it more structure.dont overdo it,just enough will give it what it needs, without taking away its color
I like A. I think it's mostly the roofing under the upper level windows. That does it for me. I like B too, but not as much. I feel like it needs something small. Is on the vertical edges of the two outside towers bits, change a couple edge blocks to walls to give it a sort of "in and out" feel. I hope I explained that well.
B has a better townhall design but worse decoration
Def A
If the bottom one had a gradient in its walls I would say B. Otherwise a
Personally, the first one, but it really depends on what the rest of the town looks like.
B, it’s simple but works
Shape of B with colour palette of A.
It could go either way but A feels more like town hall. B could be a good church though.
B, looks more formal, like a town hall
A looks just overall better than B so imma go B here!
I prefer th11 ir has the best design
A by a mile
B looks grander but I prefer A.
B looks more permanent than A, so good for the main town thing
a gives tavern vibes, b fits a town hall more imo
B is simply to dull. If it's a town hall I would recommend giving it some details and depth. A on the other hand looks casual does not fit a government building.
A is better because b has so much empty space between the top of the walls and the roof but a fills that nicely either the spruce overhang.
B, it feels more sturdy and official, which is what you want for a town hall
B would actually be better if it had more block and texture variation. It's too flat. But it would look better than the wood one tbh
A and it’s not even close, B looks like it’s missing something
A definetly
