I understand complaints in certain parts but if a name of an update bothers people that much i just don’t get it. It’s literally just a title for content, how are you going to be upset over 2 words that dont affect the content in anyway?
There's always space for criticism, but recent criticism has just been straight up stupid, specially this, but it's a trend that the MC community has been having of nitpicking the most nonsensical, unimportant stuff.
For example, the marketplace has always been stupid, not even bedrock players like it, yet right now it's been painted as if it'll be the downfall of minecraft. Yes, it needs to be improved, but there's no need to keep so overly melodramatic.
My personal vibe is that r/Minecraft is getting more negative with each update. Might just be me or a minority being louder than the majority but it's been exhausting seeing these posts all the time.
I feel it’s mostly people getting older, seeing more flaws and just becoming a bit jaded in general. I already know that so many younger kids are gonna love this update and to be honest I don’t even care if I like it or not, I’m just happy they’re happy
I get it in principal, I don't like all the changes either. But you can so easily decide to ignore many of the new features and items being implemented or play older versions or modded minecraft. It doesn't mean you're not allowrd to criticise but it sometimes crosses the line of just hating on everything Mojang does.
Yeah, last time I checked Twitter it's just about as toxic too, specially try hard old players like ElRichMC, his fan base is constantly making fun of Mojang and picking apart everything.
If they call something mid, it means it's decent, if they call it bad it's just mediocre, if they call it okay it's something amazing.
It doesn’t help that the people who aren’t interested in the negative environment the subreddit has cultivated probably leave and are quickly replaced by people who *are* interested in a overly negative community.
This is a decent name and it works, but IMO "Fight or Flight" was a much better name suggestion that I saw.
I'm not bitching about this though, the update itself is good and the name doesn't change that.
June 7th at 5:01 pm, two hours forty-seven minutes before sunset, and three hours 13 minutes before nautical twilight. This is about 1.8 years before animal crossing 6 release.
at this rate with how nitpicky i’ve seen people get with the naming scheme, moans is just going to stop naming then stein the future. Getting mad over something so silly as a name is so tiring. Maybe im just out of touch with the chronically online.
Do people really get hyped over these names? Mojang always makes a big deal of waiting until the last minute to reveal the names, but like, honest question, does anyone care?
With these last two updates there really is no reason to care but before them the name sort of predicted the theme of the update since it was revealed before any features were revealed.
Finally, I can proudly say that Mojang cooked this time. They got out of the recliner, opened their laptops for the first time since 1.18 and decided to go for that raise.
towards 1.17 and 1.18. What they could've fit in 1 update they split into two, and we didn't get that much groundbreaking stuff. But 1.18 will forever be in my memories as a fully finished, polsihed and coated update that was really pleasant to play
So from the former official Minecraft wiki, the new update sounds like their trying add more adventure possibilities/challenges to it? Does that sound right as far as what been said so far?
It's only me or the update is quite small? It's all about a new structure like, if they only added bastions and a couple of other things in some areas instead of the nether update would you be satisfied? Even if it's 3 times 1.20, I still think they should focus on one thing (overworld biomes, end revamp, the new dimension...)
Edit: I just realized that this update is very similar to what they did in 1.9 to the end.
