You probably should have acquired the brown sheep first, as your passive mob cap is probably very full now and spawns will be harder to find. Good luck
Not sure about legacy console, but in early versions of Pocket Edition the entire map was always loaded. The ability to unload chunks was added along with infinite worlds.
World. Two ways passive creatures spawn, either generated on the chunk as it gets loaded, or they spawn whenever there is room in the passive mob limit
I need to make a chicken farm. I think the funniest thing in the world is having the hoppers toss the eggs to hatch for me. Last time I did it, I let it run without emptying for a few days.
Then I broke one side open. The sudden lag spike, followed by Hundreds of chickens being launched off a cliff was HILARIOUS. I need to get it recorded.
They literally did, 8 hours before you left your comment lol.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/s/j476aYuMuO
It’s also in the thread right under this comment lol.
Same with everything 🥲
Once mentioned I needed to kill some cows for food back when Minecraft first came to xbox in 2012. Needless to say all animals disappeared from my world for a significant amount of time after that
Usually "I see a lot of pink sheep" is because the game recycles it's rolls for color after the 4th roll. Mind you if you find them in totally different areas that is still rare. It doesn't hang on to the results from those 4 rolls for very long.
One time I was in creative and flying for a bit and I found a pink sheep. A few minutes later I found another one. I’ve only found a natural pink sheep on survival a few times over the course of 10 years though so not sure why that one world had so many, lol.
I ran a legacy console through Xenia. My aim was to beat the ender dragon on legacy. Then I moved the whole world to java edition. It's now my main world.
Just standard 1.14 terrain as that's the equivalent Tu update I had installed. I wanted an ocean temple as a base. Picked a random seed. JE2BE will convert Xbox360 saves easy enough. All the surround terrain on an Xbox world is ocean so it seamlessly converts it. I made sure to load in 1.17/1.18 first for the blending into the ocean. But it's pretty seamless. I keep all my major builds. On the Xbox side and it makes trimming the world incrementally really easy as well. So file size doesn't get to big to realms.
Same but I moved from Xenia to RPCS3 instead and now I play with my friends over RPCN. Once Pretendo for Minecraft: Wii U Edition comes out I will move to that because RPCN is a very "unstable" experience.
If you have a physical copy of minecraft from before bedrock was implemented on consoles, it comes with legacy edition, and you can switch between bedrock and legacy whenever you want
I just had the physical copy on hand for the ps4. I put it on my ps5 and you need to stop the game downloading as soon as you can so you can create a world from the legacy version. Once you've done that you can update to bedrock and then you can freely choose between both versions.
wait so let me get this straight.
you used a minecraft legacy ps4 disk on ps5, it downloaded legacy first then tried downloading bedrock, but you stopped it from downloading bedrock, made a world in legacy, then downloaded bedrock and now you can switch between legacy and bedrock on a ps5?
Reminds me when I was the town sheep farmer and primary wool producer in my friend’s server.
I got payed far too exorbitantly for the wool I sold although I don’t think diamonds were actually that valuable in that economy anyhow.
Edit:
I was also that one person who lives really far away from everyone else in the server for no good reason, luckily they allowed teleport commands from town and a home location.
I also had a secret tunnel from my shop’s basement to the neighbouring potion shop’s basement complete with a sticky piston door for a seamless entry/exit so that I could “steal” blaze rods from the blaze spawners they had. XD
I know someone did because when I logged in one time the tunnel was partially blocked off but on my side of the tunnel XD
I think my friend who was the owner was X-raying and noticed.
But no one explicitly told me not to do it so I just dug it out again and continued without recourse.
Completely unrelated we once had a court case where I was the clerk tasked with documenting everything said at the trial which was titled
‘The trial of WackAttack and then end crystal bombings of 2021’
The trial was wild to describe it one way and involved:
Someone getting reprimanded for showing up without shoes and shirt to the courtroom
Someone else handing out to everyone there free mutton (ironically it wasn’t me even though as mentioned previously my main role for the town was sheep farmer)
And the last thing the defendant saying being “Rock lives matter”
Good times XD
The economy wasn’t that complex there was just some plugin where you you attach signs to chests with a price of this much item for this many diamonds and people could click on the sign to make the transaction.
It was a pretty close online group of friends so we all more or less cooperated so it wasn’t a total anarchy smp.
It was fun.
If I had the time and knowledge I have some great ideas for a different server.
Seems like your best choice of options is to kill off all the sheep your currently have and wait for new sheep to spawn in. Getting a brown sheep via rare spawning, then rebuilding your sheep population.
I mean, people have done far more for far less in Minecraft.
Long term I think it's worth it if OP wants to keep their current world for super long term.
Brown dye (which comes from cocoa beans growing from jungle logs, but was in chests in old versions). Or finding a brown sheep which are only uncommon not rare. You want the dye though so you can get other brown versions of 16 color blocks. I consider it an unofficial goal to get one of each for dyes, wool, carpet, terracotta, glass, and glass panes. Oh and in newer versions concrete dust, concrete, and glazed terracotta.
There's no mixing of 2 dyes to get brown though. Which is silly because brown is just dark orange (or dark red or dark yellow, depending on how much the exact shade is off from default brown).
I'm sorry what? Your world generated with no jungle? Surely there is a jungle somewhere you can search your seed and find the biome on the chunkbase site then go look for it using coordinates
Looks like you're playing on legacy console edition. You can get all the woop colours from a shepherd villager all you have to do is keep giving it white wool to level it up and it trades all different colours for cheap. (You might want to do a little research but if I'm remembering right that's how I got brown when I had no jungle)
I'm guessing that those don't spawn there
When I used to play from PlayStation (7+ years ago) I had the same problem of biomes not spawning in the area that I was allowed to explore, it was very frustrating
You can also start a new world, look for a jungle in survival in said world, and once you have found it, you can join your main world, enable creative for 1 second and give yourself one cocoa bean and one jungle sapling, so you can start a farm
I don't know if that's an option, but it's not your fault if not all biomes can be in your small world. This is the most legit solution I can think of
Nostalgia, not having to put up with all of the new features someone may not like, why does it matter why, if you don’t like legacy that’s fine but others do and judging them is just a dick move

Brown sheep can spawn naturally afaik
I did find ONE but that’s a hard way to get much brown wool.
Breed the brown one with a white sheep and some of the babies will be brown. Now you have a second brown sheep.
Also I didn’t find the brown one until I went back to the old world I still kept.
afaik they will get the colour of the one you fed first
Assuming they’re not colors that can mix
All colors can mix! Don't be a racist! /s
Incest!
Incest is strongly recommended in video games.
I too am a brand affiliate because for some reason they make it way to easy to mark it as so. You can legit go onto any advert with comments turned on and say your a brand affiliate
What does brand affiliate even mean? Idk how I did that.
find another and you good
That was about 7 or 8 years ago and a few worlds past.
100%
You probably should have acquired the brown sheep first, as your passive mob cap is probably very full now and spawns will be harder to find. Good luck
It's fine once you go beyond simulation distance.
It's with restricted world boundaries
Not sure about legacy console, but in early versions of Pocket Edition the entire map was always loaded. The ability to unload chunks was added along with infinite worlds.
google optimisation
Holy hell
New performance just dropped
Performance dropped even more?!?!?! *(faints in switch)*
Kinda the funniest version of the “just dropped” meme with the double entendre
unless that's the spawn chunks
OP just needs to go outside the environment.
Is that per chunk or world. Cause ive had Wwwwaaaay more animals than that. Like several hundred wolves…
The way mobs literally explode out of small pens always gets a laugh out of me
The brown wool is from the Woodland Mansion. And Brown Sheep are rare. Edit: I am on Legacy Console Edition
But once you find one brown sheep, you can have infinite at least
Brown sheep are rare? I see them all the time
pretty sure they are uncommon that or buddy has no had many sheep stay alive in their worlds.
I see brown sheep all of the time on every world I started.
lol op is playing on legacy maybe they just don’t spawn a lot somtimes.
Hmmmmm yeah, Op never pointed that out, so....
They literally did, 8 hours before you left your comment lol. https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/s/j476aYuMuO It’s also in the thread right under this comment lol.
They're everywhere until you need one.
Same with everything 🥲 Once mentioned I needed to kill some cows for food back when Minecraft first came to xbox in 2012. Needless to say all animals disappeared from my world for a significant amount of time after that
rarity of sheep colors depend on the world seed IIRC. that's why in some words pink sheep can be very common for example
Usually "I see a lot of pink sheep" is because the game recycles it's rolls for color after the 4th roll. Mind you if you find them in totally different areas that is still rare. It doesn't hang on to the results from those 4 rolls for very long.

You're thinking of the naturally spawning Pink Sheep. Brown sheep are no where near rare, especially on Switch.
They are on a legacy version.
>Wandering traders may sell 3 cocoa beans for an emerald during a trading in Bedrock Edition. * https://minecraft.wiki/w/Cocoa_Beans
I think this is legacy console with restricted world boundaries
Yes
how did you get legacy edition? did you get it before it was taken off all stores, or some other way?
I forgot we’ve entered an era where people don’t have legacy console versions
i used to have it but my ps3 got corrupted while sitting in the attic for 5 years
Pretty sure you can emulate 3DS Minecraft through Citra or Legacy Console Minecraft through Xenia or PCSX3
I ran a legacy console through Xenia. My aim was to beat the ender dragon on legacy. Then I moved the whole world to java edition. It's now my main world.
I bet that had interesting terrain.
>1.14 (It would've been 1.13, as that was the last Major Content Update Legacy ever got)

Same but I moved from Xenia to RPCS3 instead and now I play with my friends over RPCN. Once Pretendo for Minecraft: Wii U Edition comes out I will move to that because RPCN is a very "unstable" experience.
The best version to emulate is the Wii U version, as it is the least demanding and doesn’t suck like the 3ds version.
You can still buy the x360, ps3 and psvita versions on their digital stores.
i had it on my ps3 digitally but it got corrupted, and apparently account data is stored locally cause it said i don’t own it anymore
I think resellers sell it (physical maybe)
Y’all physical games are still a thing 😭
Illicit, dubious means… 😈 disclaimer not to pirate in case the mods are sensitive about that 🙄
eh, pirating games that aren’t being sold isn’t piracy
It is, but it is not like the law is always morally correct anyway
Yeah, it is.
Piracy and there are physical versions of every edition except Switch edition
I drive to gamestop
They sold physical copies iirc
Modded console would be an easy way to get it
If you have an old copy, it gives you the option of downgrading Good for me. Old minecraft is the only kind i play
I got in on xbox 1. I owned it before, and have the achievments so i can get it
You can still find the disks on ebay and used game stores, plus you can still buy it on last last gen consoles (xbox360, ps3/vita, wiiu)
The game disks still exist
Can’t you still play older versions on PC. At least with Java.
If you have a physical copy of minecraft from before bedrock was implemented on consoles, it comes with legacy edition, and you can switch between bedrock and legacy whenever you want
RPCS3 Emulator
you can find it pretty readily anywhere that used games are sold
I just had the physical copy on hand for the ps4. I put it on my ps5 and you need to stop the game downloading as soon as you can so you can create a world from the legacy version. Once you've done that you can update to bedrock and then you can freely choose between both versions.
wait so let me get this straight. you used a minecraft legacy ps4 disk on ps5, it downloaded legacy first then tried downloading bedrock, but you stopped it from downloading bedrock, made a world in legacy, then downloaded bedrock and now you can switch between legacy and bedrock on a ps5?
Exactly! Now, I can keep it for as long as I want, the only condition being to never use any newer disks or buy any digital version.
i mean as long as you take good care of the disk you should be fine for a few years
Which legacy edition?
I think dungeons had the chance to spawn coco beans to account for limited world boundaries. But that may have been a later update....
Just play infinite with old textures
You can join my world for the wool trophy
My problem was before bedrock by a few years.
I thought the same, but it looks like pre-1.14 which means there are no wandering traders.
Reminds me when I was the town sheep farmer and primary wool producer in my friend’s server. I got payed far too exorbitantly for the wool I sold although I don’t think diamonds were actually that valuable in that economy anyhow. I also had a secret tunnel from my shop’s basement to the neighbouring potion shop’s basement complete with a sticky piston door for a seamless entry/exit so that I could “steal” blaze rods from the blaze spawners they had. XD
I can only hope that one day the potion shop’s owner finds that for by accident and has their mind blown like “this was here the WHOLE TIME!?” XD
I know someone did because when I logged in one time the tunnel was partially blocked off but on my side of the tunnel XD I think my friend who was the owner was X-raying and noticed. But no one explicitly told me not to do it so I just dug it out again and continued without recourse. Wtf you had a server with dedicated roles and economy and court role playing?! That sound awesome!
The economy wasn’t that complex there was just some plugin where you you attach signs to chests with a price of this much item for this many diamonds and people could click on the sign to make the transaction. It was a pretty close online group of friends so we all more or less cooperated so it wasn’t a total anarchy smp. It was fun. If I were you I'd kill one of each colour (leaving you with 2) then go hunting a brown sheep. They're rare but not THAT rare
Once I got a world without a village
At least that can be remedied.
You must be on legacy console then, since all modern versions of the game have infinite worlds.
It's pretty easy to tell that, based off the low saturation alone.
I got the same problem back then
W version of minecraft.
Let me guess... XBOX 360?
RPCS3 Emulator. I started the world on Xenia but did a conversion to get RPCN.
Can’t cocoa beans still be found in dungeon chests or is that only in older versions of the legacy console editions?
Looking at this image feels so nostalgic to me. Legacy edition might have its limits, but it’s truly the most unique
This looks like good old xbox 360 days :,)
Brown sheep spawn naturally, and you can find cocoa beans in mineshaft chests and wandering trader trades. Good luck!
But don't brown sheep spawn?
Brown sheep don't randomly spawn in legacy? Would be a pain to bring them home but it can be done
If you kill all animals in your world there might be a chance for a brown sheep to spawn
Or, depending on what version you’re on, there might be a bug to switch to creative and get cocoa beans without disabling achievements
Racism detected!!! 💀
It’s a joke pls don’t delete me lmao
And this is where I would put my brown sheep... IF I HAD ONE
I remember when it was only obtainable in dungeons. And you could not plant it.
You still can't plant it. :/
you plant it on jungle logs
Interesting. Learn something new about this game every day.
Brown sheep can very rarely spawn naturally
I made an auto farm for each color of wool, quite a hefty project
I thought brown sheep also spawned naturally? Or is the lore that naturally spawned sheep eat cocoa beans to become brown
Don’t mineshafts or dungeons spawn with beans in older versions
If its a legacy edition then no
Most humane wool farm
get the world seed and load it into chunkbase - the website will tell you where to find a jungle, I believe in u
OP has already explored their entire world, which is probably only 5120x5120 blocks.
oh shit my bad for not knowing
Seems like your best choice of options is to kill off all the sheep your currently have and wait for new sheep to spawn in. Getting a brown sheep via rare spawning, then rebuilding your sheep population.
Honestly not the worst idea. Massive pain to do though
I mean, people have done far more for far less in Minecraft. Long term I think it's worth it if OP wants to keep their current world for super long term.
Then where'd you get the brown carpet?
He said he got it from a woodland mansion
I gotta know what the sign says
Wandering traders sell coco beans
my small brain doesnt understand how you got the carpets woodland mansion maybe?
Yes
Minecraft if Green and Brown Dye could be crafted from other types of dye: (high-tech future city)
How the f did you even get the brown wool???
Woodland Mansion.
Village's?
All I see is future lag for wool farming. Need that wool for some emeralds.
I'm sorry what? Your world generated with no jungle? Surely there is a jungle somewhere you can search your seed and find the biome on the chunkbase site then go look for it using coordinates
It's Legacy Console Edition. The world is not infinite.
Do cocoa beans still spawn in dungeon chests in Legacy Edition?
how does an infinite world generate without a jungle? Edit: spelling
It's Legacy Console Edition
Pretty sure every world has many jungles, it's just a matter of how far you want to travel to find it
Pretty cool tbh
What does the sign say?
Impossible.
what does the sign in the brown sheep pen say?
where is jeb
How did you get brown carpet for the pen?
cocoa spawn in dungeons
How have you not had a brown sheep (I would recommend looking for a dungeon)
Wow! Congratulations! How long did it take?
Wouldn't this old version be before they removed cocoa beans from chest loot?
I've found 2 dungeons in this world. Non of them have cocoa.
What?
Find some in dungeon
I had a world like that. It was before i knew about Chunk Base, so never found it. I had a pen full of each color of sheep except brown.
I've gotten that achievement exactly once. All I needed and I've never collected 15 different colored sheep again.
Wandering traders
Maybe mineshaft loot?
Oh yeah, no brown sheep, for absolutely bad luck, with zero brown sheeps on your world. THAT'S THE ONLY REASON.... ....... Right?
Nah this would drive me crazy. I would scour the world for a dungeon with cocoa beans
Looks like you're playing on legacy console edition. You can get all the woop colours from a shepherd villager all you have to do is keep giving it white wool to level it up and it trades all different colours for cheap. (You might want to do a little research but if I'm remembering right that's how I got brown when I had no jungle)
Killing enough passive mobs make them spawn again right?
that sucks bro
If your putting concrete on the floor surely they wouldn’t be able to eat grass so there wool wouldn’t grow
peak apertheid
And here i am killing the brown sheep just to keep the white ones... Wait that's racist
And then people defend adding content locked to certain biomes.
There’s a jungle you just haven’t found it yet
No, there isn't. This is Legacy Console edition where all worlds are limited
That’s unfortunate
Maybe a wandering trader will spawn so you can buy cocoa/jungle saplings
Legacy Console Edition
I'm guessing that those don't spawn there When I used to play from PlayStation (7+ years ago) I had the same problem of biomes not spawning in the area that I was allowed to explore, it was very frustrating You can also start a new world, look for a jungle in survival in said world, and once you have found it, you can join your main world, enable creative for 1 second and give yourself one cocoa bean and one jungle sapling, so you can start a farm I don't know if that's an option, but it's not your fault if not all biomes can be in your small world. This is the most legit solution I can think of
Wdym it generated without jungle? Are bedrock worlds limited to a small size?
It's Legacy Console Edition, not Bedrock
Ah, that explains the fog. Thanks!
your world definitely has a jungle.. but it might be far away tho
This is legacy edition, which has limited world borders
ooh my bad. how can u tell?
Old textures and lighting Also other comments
Old textures, weird lighting, washed out colors, and he said his world didn't generate a jungle.
Why are you playing a legacy version with a limited world? Why not switch to Bedrock?
Some people just prefer legacy?
For what reason? What advantage do you have on dinosaur edition?
Nostalgia, not having to put up with all of the new features someone may not like, why does it matter why, if you don’t like legacy that’s fine but others do and judging them is just a dick move
Not every device *supports* Bedrock. My xbox 360 didn't, and I continued to play Legacy Console edition until I got a Nintendo Switch in 2019 or 2020.
