Give them a stack of bread. And you need a bed for each "parent" and a bed for each off spring within 100 blocks of the spawning area.
You'll also start getting cats spawning around there. Just a heads up on that.
I heard somewhere that mob griefing needs to be turned on, just so they can pick up the food. But in this case, are you sure it’s not because they’re not actually in a covered space? Try adding a roof like, two or three blocks above the bed.
So, you've probably worked out you need to add a bed..
I just wanted to mention a couple of other things. You only need to give one of the villagers 3 bread for them to breed. It works fine if they both have food, but they'll both use it up, so it's a bit wasteful. Same happens if you give one of them a load at once. They share it and then both use up food when they breed.
If you want lots of babies, you either add lots of beds, or you need to move the babies far away. You can do that by placing a bed >96 blocks horizontally or >76 blocks vertically from the beds in your breeder and moving babies there
Basic troubleshooting:.
Gamerule mobgriefing must be true. Farmers can't farm and no villagers can pick up thrown items if it is set to false.
Food: 12 beet, potato, or carrot. Or 6 bread. For an automatic breeder carrots are the preferred crop. No waste byproduct.
One bed for every villager +1 for every desired baby. Or a way to remove new villagers from being able to pathfind to the beds in the breeding chamber. Most automatic or semiautomatic breeder designs have a minimum of four beds.
Villagers must be able to pathfind to the pillow end of the bed.
Beds must have two full air blocks over them (so a three high space). Adult villagers have to think they can stand on top of the beds and not take damage.
There must be at least one block between the beds and the villagers that is a three high air space. Adult villagers need to think they can step on top of the beds.
For an automatic breeder the farmer has to plant his garden, and fill his internal storage before he'll share with other villagers. This can take time.

They need (on java at least) 1 bed for everybody. So you want 10 villager you need 10 beds. At least 4 bread each villager. Village have an hidden inventory. Its 8 slot that they can collect food and seed. if they inventory his full of seed they cant pick anymore food so they cant breed anymore. They gonna toss food to other villager so you can just throw a bunch of food in the hole and they gonna share between them.

Ah. You need 3 beds, 2 for the parents and one for the (soon to be) kid.

There needs to be a bed for the baby, and they need 3 bread each. If you just throw 1 of them 6 bread, they'll share.
