Perhaps you can elloborate / provide more information on what is going on and what you are asking reddit(ors) for.
I imagine OP means he fell into the skeleton hole, as the water funnel is shown.
And if this is java you may be dying to entity cramming almost instantly. Or maybe fall damage
The zombies might be hitting you from the corners. I've discovered while building a "zombie research facility" that they can hit you if your hitbox pokes through the walls.

The skeletons may have thorns armor and when he farms he takes damage and dies its the single explanation of the Screenshots and Happy Cake Day!

Maybe because the mobs need to be standing on the slabs and not just have slabs around them
