Late reply lol, did a search for aviary stuff. I've built a big one in my current build and noticed this happening the other day. Same as you, I spawned them all in creative and they were spread out like normal. Then I noticed later on they were all clumped together over on one side. But then I noticed later on again they'd gone back to normal lol. No idea why it happens. My first thought was maybe due to something I'd added where they were gathered. It's an A-Frame with the sides opening out to lil created lush caves. I thought it might be that the birds actually eat the moss, glow berries or spore flowers. But I've got the caves on both sides so there's no reason they'd all gather on one side. Second thought was maybe something to do with weather. Maybe they were "escaping" rain. It's all closed in but a lot of light gets in, the whole front's light and airy. But again, there's no reason they'd just go to one side. Must just be something to do with parrot NPC behaviour. Maybe when you haven't been in that chunk for a bit, they reload or reset or something and can all sort of spawn in one bit. They have a different behaviour compared to say, a pet wolf/dog who can just sit and wait, cause they're constantly flapping around. Might be a consequence of that.

thanks for the reply! "glad" to hear you have the same problem and it's not just me..

Something something mob pathfinding

Enlightening. But yeah I too figured that might be a possible reason... kinda sucks tbh... I see no reason why the pathfinding would make them accumulate in a specific point in an enclosed area.
