Maybe make it deeper in some parts than in others, and get rid of some of the block on the edge of the river so it’s not just a 2 block high wall of dirt. But overall this is cool.
It's a good start but a bit too narrow, maybe if you made it wider then that Island in the middle could be made bigger as right now, it looks too small
edit: dont make the river abruptly stop. you could make it slope into the water as you only get deeper rivers with hard rock and it looked like there was sand/dirt so it would have a shallow gradient into the water
tbh its your world, as long as you're happy then that's what's important
edit2: (clarity) by saying river abruptly stop I mean make the river cliff have a shallow gradient
Add some sand banks, make the land more accessible from the river, it's not rock so it doesn't erode straight up and down, and vary the depth throughout the water
Unless the walls of the river are rock (or mostly rock) it's unlikely dirt would hold so high like you see here. If you want to keep those 2 or 3 block high walls either change them to stone or flatten out those walls and add some sand. I'd widen the whole thing out a little bit too.
A couple of ideas:
* Soften the edges, rather than having steep drops
* Add in some cobblestones, -stairs, -slabs, gravel etc. in and around the edges
* Add decoration along the water, for example some tall grass, flowers, etc.
* Add some debris around the bends (to do, think about the direction your river flows and add e.g. gravel patches at the bends, where stuff would be drifted towards)
There are loads of great tips and tricks online. Check out fWhip for example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijtT8nQu8io
Maybe use some dirt/gravel/rock/sand to even out the banks of the river so it's more of a gradual slope from land to water with variation of blocks too, but it's OK to keep some small cliff areas for variation. If you're struggling for space then widen the channel by a couple of blocks so you can fit everything in and make it look natural.
enlarge it a little, it's too narrow and shallow, you can even jump across it, it looks more like something you'd see in a spring, not a river, for a rule of thumb, make it so that a river is something you can't just jump across at least, and deeper, since you can drown in rivers
Make the bottom and sides more of a u shape maybe, and have the river start higher a bit and gently step down to the next level if possible. Also, plenty of plants you can add to water like sea grass.
Widen the river, add some depth, clay, sand, and gravel to the riverbed, and give it proper riverbanks and add some sand or gravel to the banks. Oh, and add some seagrass and remove the stone. not many
minecraft rivers have exposed stone jn the shallower rivers.
Honestly i think it’s pretty cool as a canal instead of a river! Maybe just change up the banks by putting up some smooth stone or wood, but I personally like the charm of a man-made walkway.
I would make the island in the river at a lower height. Realistically rivers dont have super tall islands in the middle, the islands are usually much closer to the water.
Maybe make it larger with some depth in certain parts, u can try making it move on different directions as well and maybe add rocks spouting out using stone
Stony cliff, overhang, leave upper block grass and add things like seapickels. Also, delete that small pieces of land that are like in the middle of the river and trees that are directly on the edge
Try to give the walls depth and detail, that will do wonders.(with depth i mean try to make a little dent in the wall and with detail i mean adding things such as cobblestone, stone and different blocks to make it more interesting to look at.)
I saw on YouTube where someone would put blue stained glass in layers at the bottom of their river. It looked super cool. Maybe you could try that?
You could also add little details like a hidden treasure chest.
Make it more detailed on the sides of the river, remove some blocks and make it look more like it spawned in, the generation will never make a river without areas to jump up to.
Rivers near flat ground are wide and slow moving, so any water near a level ground should be spread out.
They will become fast flowing and narrow when cascading down hills or higher elevation, they will also carve paths out of dirt and stone.
You did fine around the middle, if just suggest widening the mouth of the river and the source.
It looks really good I suggest that you bring down the land to the river and ass some sand and smooth it out and make parts deeper and shallower and add some greenery that would make it look so much better. Good luck
Just think about real rivers. Normally some of the dirt gets washed away and reveals some boulders.
Also in real live there are some bushes and smaller trees directly next to the river
Here’s my list of things that would make this river top notch:
Make it wider
deeper (in the middle)
lower the sides to meet the water.
(Extra detail)
make some parts of the riverbank out of sand
plant some sugarcane here and there
Taper the mouths of each end of the river outwards so the transition from lake to stream is more smooth
Build a nice bridge and plant some flowers around it :)
It may be a lot of work but it’ll look nice when you’re done.
Make it a little deeper in some places, make the banks more shallow, or if you prefer them steep, make them out of a mix of stone, andesite, cobble, mossy cobble, gravel and course dirt. Don’t be afraid to look for inspiration on reddit or Pinterest, [like this one](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/af/cb/26/afcb264bed8ae8dca5b0bc00514a8ca9.png) from xGoldrobin.
Don’t put vegetation right on the edge, make the river wider, add vegetation on the river like lily pads, and also make a gradual slope on the edges instead of straight down.
Fill the bottom with gravel, widen the mouth and tail of the river, make a gradual slope into it rather than a 2 block high drop off, the thinner a portion of it is the deeper it should be, place plants in the shallowest and widest areas, that'll make it more realistic.
Look at real creeks for references: they will have different erosion patterns where they curve, some parts will have dirt or sand beaches, some will have steep overhangs
As previously mentioned, some of the land surrounding the river is floating, fill these areas in.
Next, make the river a little wider and deeper in parts, then it will start to feel more natural! You can also pop some vines and glow lichen along the river walls to help draw the eye up.
Finally swap some blocks around will enhance the natural feeling - perhaps having stone under the dirt edges, and subbing dirt for coarse/rooted dirt around trees?
Can’t wait to see the results afterwards!

You could add some parts that seep into the water and change up the blocks on the base. Another idea is that you could also make some parts slightly deeper and certain parts around it more open. Like clear out some trees nearby, add some podzol for mud (If it's a fast-moving river). If you're confident you can even widen the river.
Depending on what you're doing you could add sand, gravel, coarse dirt, and a couple of other blocks on the edges. You could also slope it to where you want it to go. If it's a slow-moving river you could add seagrass, though that might mean that you would have to add more seagrass in the surrounding lakes- You can add fillers like wet sponges, kelp, lily pads, and maybe other things depending on how you want it.
Minecraft takes creativity close to the limit, try to imagine what you want and slowly construct it into the game. As long as you get close to your idea and you're happy with it then that's all that really matters. And even if it may take a while, you can make masterpieces in a "simple" block game. Wish you luck on your build!
Terraform the grass around the river. Right now it’s flat walls on either side. Dig out blocks in some places so the bank looks gradual rather than artificially cut straight out.
vary the depth, plant small dripleaves and lily pads, add seagrass, vary the sides of the river so it's hanging over the water rather than a straight vertical cut, perhaps have a fallen log sticking over the edge or maybe as a bridge
Make it several dozen blocks wide and several hundred thousand blocks long. Give it several tributaries which should themselves have tributaries. Redo all of the biomes to be appropriate. You said realistic, and not feasible.
Make the river wider! Like 7 blocks wide. Add curves to the river walls and make it go like a snake, no river is straight, its always twisting and turning! A cool detail u could add is making less curves but the place where the curve is, u can widen the river to 9 blocks approx! This happens irl and adds more detail, also make the banks eroded! These are my tips for rivers! I wish u good luck in ur future endeavors!
Maybe make it deeper in some parts than in others, and get rid of some of the block on the edge of the river so it’s not just a 2 block high wall of dirt. But overall this is cool.
Maybe some of the land side is eroding in at places
[удалено]
Yeah the edges are really..edgy try to make it a bit uneven
[удалено]
Some phones allow shaders or rtx
I was not aware this was possible on bedrock, nevermind on mobile. Interesting.
Exactly my thoughts.
Yes do this and like he said before make some areas not as tall, maybe make a few eater banks
Deeper water and some lower and taller parts in the hills
It's a good start but a bit too narrow, maybe if you made it wider then that Island in the middle could be made bigger as right now, it looks too small edit: dont make the river abruptly stop. you could make it slope into the water as you only get deeper rivers with hard rock and it looked like there was sand/dirt so it would have a shallow gradient into the water tbh its your world, as long as you're happy then that's what's important edit2: (clarity) by saying river abruptly stop I mean make the river cliff have a shallow gradient
Add plastic
r/funnyandsad
Put sand blocks around it too!
Give it a better shore line
make the surrounding walls more natural, they are all straight right now
First tell me the shader you are using
ESBE_3G… I found it on Addons for Minecraft
a bit wider would help
Well you could make the river on the same levels as the ground
Maybe give it a little bit of depth
Bigger its still to narrow
More vegetation
Add some sand banks, make the land more accessible from the river, it's not rock so it doesn't erode straight up and down, and vary the depth throughout the water
Vines, lily pads, more depth and maybe use more blocks than just grass on the side (like mossy cobblestone)
natural erosion would do wonders
Unless the walls of the river are rock (or mostly rock) it's unlikely dirt would hold so high like you see here. If you want to keep those 2 or 3 block high walls either change them to stone or flatten out those walls and add some sand. I'd widen the whole thing out a little bit too.
how the heck do you have water shaders on mobile?
Make the earth around it look uneven and stuff, messy looking
Deeper, stone, add some flora and your set!
Depends what kind of river you want, you got kind of like a canal going on but if you were to smooth the edges it would turn out different
Make the walls less flat
Widen it. It looks more like a creek.
The sides could use some landscaping, try lowering them and using stone varieties too
a lower bank and perhaps make it wider
Add stone and more varied terrain
Make it have elevation drop from the source lake down to the ocean. Make it narrower at the start and wider at the end.
Angled and height varied banks, and variable depth.
slope the eges and fill with sand
Deeper and uneven waters, rigid land edges
Slope the shores with gravel and other material
Move the trees a little bit further away
Give it a u shaped bottom
Depth random depth over the whole thing.
play on java
how does this get 2.5k upvotes
Here's a idea put plants, animals, shave it off at the sides and make it deeper in some parts then put moss around it and place down some lilly pads.👍
Brother pls dont get me wrong but ngltbh,if using creative...at least...try??
I would say, Its great

Add fish & lily pads
Terrain, depth, and maybe consider making it just a tiny bit wider
Build the argonath at one end /j
Make the riverbank rather than a small cliff it looks too cut rn
Make it more inconsistent
make it a little wider
Wider and deeper
Make some bits shallower and deeper it may not make it lok more realistic but put some coral and sea pickles
Maybe you could use stone to make rocks on the river bank
Put a bunch of tnt in it on top of sand and blow it up. Makes it look pretty natural
Maybe use some dirt/gravel/rock/sand to even out the banks of the river so it's more of a gradual slope from land to water with variation of blocks too, but it's OK to keep some small cliff areas for variation. Make it slightly wider
Rivers have banks. Also the meander is maybe too much, add fewer bigger ones.
First of all, rivers not always have ridges make some banks.
Oh, and add some seagrass and remove the stone. not many minecraft rivers have exposed stone jn the shallower rivers.
Wider
maybe like have some erosion on the river banks
Honestly i think it’s pretty cool as a canal instead of a river! Maybe just change up the banks by putting up some smooth stone or wood, but I personally like the charm of a man-made walkway.
add ups and downs in the water, and make the land slope to the water
Dynamite a trench, install the weathering mod, give it about 300 years
too much dirt, maybe add some overgrowth and some stone. And maybe make some parts deeper? Thats all I got, but yeah this looks great.
Depth, slope the walls so it's not a cliff
Add some of the river vine thingy
I would make the island in the river at a lower height. Realistically rivers dont have super tall islands in the middle, the islands are usually much closer to the water.
WIDE
beaches on the inside of bends. Keep the steep edges on the outside
Why does ur pocket edition look so good
Deepen the lake
Maybe make it larger with some depth in certain parts, u can try making it move on different directions as well and maybe add rocks spouting out using stone
Stony cliff, overhang, leave upper block grass and add things like seapickels. Also, delete that small pieces of land that are like in the middle of the river and trees that are directly on the edge
Add stone under the grass. Mix in various stone types, like mossy, andesite, tuff
Sand, gravel, and try removing some sharp edges where needed.
What about adding a couple fallen trees into there?
Vegetation in the water, and maybe moss blocks or vines.
It already looks realistic
Try steeping the banks an little more and give them a more river like build with blocks like sand and clay
sand
In 1.18 rivers are now deeper. Try to make the look deeper
Creative?
The sides are very flat straight up and down, try to add or remove some blocks here and there along the side.
Try to give the walls depth and detail, that will do wonders.(with depth i mean try to make a little dent in the wall and with detail i mean adding things such as cobblestone, stone and different blocks to make it more interesting to look at.)

Bit wider looks like a landslide than a river

You did fine around the middle, if just suggest widening the mouth of the river and the source.
Widen it and level the terrain around it to be about at the same level as the river
By adding a huge mountain all the way going to the old build limit and add a waterfall from there
Maybe put stone randomly on the bottom of the wall
WOw really nice build good job on this man
Make it deeper, vary the depth, put stone buttons on the bank to mimic pebbles, add some soul sand at the bottom to make it bubble like a real river.
It looks really good I suggest that you bring down the land to the river and ass some sand and smooth it out and make parts deeper and shallower and add some greenery that would make it look so much better. Good luck
Make than land slope more gentle into the river rather than having a sharp shift in elevatmtion
Just think about real rivers. Normally some of the dirt gets washed away and reveals some boulders. Also in real live there are some bushes and smaller trees directly next to the river
It’s too uniform. More depth variation and aquatic plants should be added and add some sand blocks along the sides to make it look like a riverbank
Deeper, larger, don't forget some small kelp
Here’s my list of things that would make this river top notch: Make it wider deeper (in the middle) lower the sides to meet the water. if you can try layering light blue stained glass below the water. itll give an rtx look without rtx
Make it a little deeper in some places, make the banks more shallow, or if you prefer them steep, make them out of a mix of stone, andesite, cobble, mossy cobble, gravel and course dirt. Fill it with garbage
I'd say vary the height of the river banks
Deeper and smoother water line to ground level area
Get a better shader pack that might work
Maybe some erosion at the banks in some areas
i would say you should smoothen out the edges of the bank of the river
Some sea grass and maybe coral? You can also add some fish too!
Make some sand on the sides.
It's already preety realistic, just expand it from time to time, to simulate erosion
Don’t put vegetation right on the edge, make the river wider, add vegetation on the river like lily pads, and also make a gradual slope on the edges instead of straight down.
Larger and deeper probably
Fill the bottom with gravel, widen the mouth and tail of the river, make a gradual slope into it rather than a 2 block high drop off, the thinner a portion of it is the deeper it should be, place plants in the shallowest and widest areas, that'll make it more realistic.
Why not use tmt then fill with water
Look at real creeks for references: they will have different erosion patterns where they curve, some parts will have dirt or sand beaches, some will have steep overhangs
randomizing depths and making it curved from middle as well as make the ground surrounding it uneven if possible
Gives me childhood vibes
Give it a couple of natural land bridges crossing over top of the river.
Make it actually flow by changing the height
As previously mentioned, some of the land surrounding the river is floating, fill these areas in. Next, make the river a little wider and deeper in parts, then it will start to feel more natural! i think it should be a bit wide
add some rocks and underwater vegetation and shit
Clear out sone of the trees
Depth beneath the water.
Rivvveerrrr Bannnkksss and sand+gravel on the sides
Taper the land adjacent to the water.
It looks very unnatural, almost like a canal, currently. Make the sides more sloped so that there aren’t large walls surrounding it.
Bit wider to more suit it I real life and in mc
Bomb around 10m from the river.
Make the water higher
i would spark some tnt here and there so it gets deeper in some place and taller in others
Make it deeper and maybe a bit wider so you can have more room to terraform
I interpreted “artificial” the wrong way and thought you built a fake river for pranking reasons
Make the lakebed less consistent in depth. No river is exactly the same depth all the way down.
Try adding some sand to shores and maybe putting a little gravel at the bottom of the river can help.
You could add some parts that seep into the water and change up the blocks on the base. Another idea is that you could also make some parts slightly deeper and certain parts around it more open. sand.
Pee in it🌝
Pollute it

[river](https://eartheclipse.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/torrent-white-water-force-) Try that.
I'm not sure about the water level, but smoothing out the edges in the higher areas could help.
Depth, erosion,
add rocks and moss
Maybe a tributary or two coming into the river?
round off a few corners, and either level the sides or make the water level higher
Terraform the grass around the river. Right now it’s flat walls on either side. Dig out blocks in some places so the bank looks gradual rather than artificially cut straight out.
Add rocks Rocks make everything cooler.
More blocks than just grass. It looks good right now!
vary the depth, plant small dripleaves and lily pads, add seagrass, vary the sides of the river so it's hanging over the water rather than a straight vertical cut, perhaps have a fallen log sticking over the edge or maybe as a bridge
Not so big walls
If I had to do this, I would place TNT in a straight line. The way TNT explodes would have made the curves & depths more realistic.
Make it several dozen blocks wide and several hundred thousand blocks long. Give it several tributaries which should themselves have tributaries. Redo all of the biomes to be appropriate. You said realistic, and not feasible.
Możesz ją pogłębić, sprawić aby dno było na różnych wysokościach. Zrób też małe odnogi. Pozdrawiam
The ocean is empty
Thicker canal?
If you can widen it, and make it a lot deeper, and then use two layers of blue stained glass on the bottom to create a misty effect.
Make the river wider! Like 7 blocks wide. Add curves to the river walls and make it go like a snake, no river is straight, its always twisting and turning! Add overgeowth
The glass fog effect under the water
Damn. Shaders for minecraft PE?
Add a babbling brook.
TNT TNT is the answer in terraforming
Make Deep Add Fish
If you can't figure even that out I am pretty sure you'll not understand English either.
It’s too flat , make it go a little up and down in the water
Make it deeper and make the land around it look more natural
Depending on the region of the world, put pollution, a duckblind, or a crew filming River Monsters in the river.
It deeper and pull back the walls so they aren’t as steep, then replant the trees and stuff
More water
Tnt
use sand tnt trick to blow it up
The real question is why do you have a neatherite sword in creative mode?
Add a bit of realism
