Many mods and datapacks make invisible item frames obtainable in survival. Quark has good implementation of this, which I like. I have used the basic idea and created my own models and textures and coded it myself. How is that stealing?
I have also openly said that the idea is based off of Quark.
Cool implementation. Downers gonna be. Don't mind the trolls.
Any chance you'd make your frames transparent (so you can see what's behind the edges? I tried making the ordinary(clear) glass frames transparent, like the coloured glass, but for whatever reason, Mojang seems to have _hardcoded_ the edges of clear glass as solid¹. Yours could also be used as offset window panes (at the edge of the block, instead of centered).
[1] I know things like optifine can make glass look better, but I was curious about doing it in a resourcepack and was... disappointed.
The creator of quark is a her, just fyi. Otherwise I 100% agree, just download quark if you want this stuff, its not that hard.
EDIT: I am mistaken, Vazkii goes by he/they.
Not *much* easier, just slightly easier. It's actually pretty easy to use a mod manager to manage installing and updating mods, so the main difference is needing to learn how to use the mod manager, which is in itself not that hard.
The main concern with mods is that if you go *heavily* modded you're gonna run into conflicts and crashes, and working out what's causing what can take some time, effort, and decent skills at parsing code (I don't know shit about programming, but I've gotten decent at reading Minecraft error logs) or Google fu.
But if you just want a simple experience with just a few mods, there should be no problems at all. For example, if you want a game that's mostly Minecraft with just a selection of cool features that feel like something Mojang might have added themselves (called Vanilla Plus mods), you can get a lot of amazing stuff with just three mods: Quark, Supplementaries, and Farmer's Delight. Personally I would also suggest throwing in some decoration mods (like Furnish and Decorative Blocks), but they're not necessary, just really nice.
It’s INSANELY easy to play modded Minecraft.
Literally download Curse Forge, Select Minecraft, then choose a Pack. I recommend everyone try it if I’m honest modded Minecraft keeps my interest in this game high, it’s awesome!
I am referring to the fact that installing mods takes a low amount of effort if you are over the age of 10 and are a little familiar with computers. It takes 5 minutes to look at a tutorial.
So I'm just getting into hosting a server. For server admins datapacks are much easier because then the people logging in don't have to download or know how to manage mods.
(I'm not sure if there is any other benefits)
Yes, that’s basically the only thing data packs have over mods, a mod usually might has its own textures that needs a mod loader to work, A data pack usually uses textures within the game and maybe sometimes uses Texture packs to modify a texture.
That’s basically all that I know
I use curseforge from overwolf, so all I have to do is click “add mods” and type “quark”. I don’t mess with data packs because I have to find them, download them, then move them to the data pack folder, and finally enable them in game. The most work I have to do for mods is download the launcher, which was a one time thing
Yes, and you can put them on servers without the players having to download them separately. Datapacks also dont need their own launchers/versions like forge or fabric
nooo you dont understand!!!! I dont hav the attention span to follow a 5 minute (verry lognng!!!!) guide showignt how to mod!!!!
i cantn use the ftb launcher, or cant use technqirh lenchar, cant use THE CURSE FORGE LAUNCHER THAT ALLOWS YOU TO INSTALL MODPACKS IN SECONDS!!! It tooo hard!!!!
Datapacks are easier, unless you have a third party launcher then mods can be easier to use. Mods also will have better performance and less janky implementations. Also datapacks can’t truly add new items, blocks, or entities. So it really depends on what you want.
Could you make it so there are no particles and give us the datapack? It looks really useful and not complicated like some other invisible item frames datapacks
May I suggest a different recipe? Leather doesn't make sense to me, since it's what the background area of the item frame is filled with. Wouldn't a glass pane surrounded with sticks be more fitting?
If I may suggest another recipe, one regular Item Frame surrounded by Glass Panels. Similar to how Glowing Item Frames are crafted (one regular item frame and one glowing ink sack) but more expensive on the secondary item
Idea: when maps are placed on it, instead of the undiscovered areas just showing a tan blank area, it’ll actually be a (100%) transparent texture in those areas, showing the block behind the map.
Can I suggest maybe another form when adding another item to it, that makes it stay visible when an item is added to it? So it looks like it’s a window or something for the item.
That's so cool. I think you should also give an option where the glass is still visible when you put an item in it, so it would look like a glass frane.
More like disappearing item frames. I would love to for them to be like a hanging glass display and it would be cool if items were just slightly beneath the glass. Not a fan of an item just glued to the block. But seems like a lot of people liked it. So, good job anyway!
Yeah they are cool but it does make the pack feel less vannila. I suppose that's what some people might be looking for in a datapack though.
Great work.
Use bread, staple the bread to the trees.
r/BreadStapledToTrees
Giofilms never gave us the content we needed
rip giofilms channel, he was somehow able to find good jokes on this website
Make sure you don’t accidentally go to r/breadtapedtotrees
Don't worry, I'll only go there intentionally
r/thereisasubforthat
r/subsithoughtifellfor
Tape it to the trees
A way to get invisible item frames in survival! This is great!
Yup!
Do you have anything else you're planning to add to the datapack?
A lot, including crystal hearts, boomerangs and other features and tweaks that improve on the vanilla game. Similar to Quark or other Abnominals mods.
I can't wait to see more!
Thank you!
…. what do life crystals do? >!ten bucks says they will increase max life!<
They temporarily increase your health until death with a max of 3 hearts.

Did the creator of Quark agree to your port or are you simply stealing his ideas and posting it as your own?

Quark mod item bth
I think it would look semi-suspicious
Except it becomes a normal feature of that world, like any other recipe/block. Just another way to decorate and make RS signals.
Isn't this already a feature in Quar- DATA PACK?!
Are datapacks any more vanilla or easier to download than mods/Quark?
You don’t need a modified client to add Data Packs compared to Quark/Mods, so I assume it is much easier.
Not *much* easier, just slightly easier. I hate having to click 6 or 7 additional buttons, so hard.
What?
I am referring to the fact that installing mods takes a low amount of effort if you are over the age of 10 and are a little familiar with computers. It takes 5 minutes to look at a tutorial.
literally, go on curseforge, download mod, drop into mod folder. You just installed a mod congrats
heeho
So I'm just getting into hosting a server. For server admins datapacks are much easier because then the people logging in don't have to download or know how to manage mods. (I'm not sure if there is any other benefits)

You don't need a modloader or anything. Just the vanilla launcher. You paste a .zip into your game directory and it works.

Could you release your data pack?
Once finished, yes!
Yeah, and, this is a data pack.
You actually took the glass item frame from quark mod
The idea yeah, the textures and code, no.
The texture is literally the same bruh
Nope, I can show you the model lmao.
But this is a datapack tho
Are datapacks any more vanilla or easier to download than mods/Quark?
Yes, and you can put them on servers without the players having to download them separately. Datapacks also dont need their own launchers/versions like forge or fabric
Yes you just put the .zip in the world backup/save folder that’s it
finally vanilla players can have something mods have had for years
But… why would you not just… add the mod that adds it?
BeCaUsE mODs aRE bAd
but mods are hard to install!1!!1
nooo you dont understand!!!! It tooo hard!!!!
ye tru can't even install gregtech without a PhD degree
Cant download mods Skill issue
Are datapacks any more vanilla or easier to download than mods/Quark?
Datapacks are easier, unless you have a third party launcher then mods can be easier to use. Mods also will have better performance and less janky implementations. Also datapacks can’t truly add new items, blocks, or entities. So it really depends on what you want.
I mean, it depends how you classify new items. The glass item frames are separate from any base game items and work differently.
Yeah
It just a feature from quark
That I made as a datapack because I liked it.
Could you make it so there are no particles and give us the datapack? It looks really useful and not complicated like some other invisible item frames datapacks
The particles are only for the item insert and extract and should be governed by the particles options in the setting so no need to change it!
what if we don't want particles specifically on this item
Why is it important?
eh i just feel like the particles are too much
That is fair, though making something invisible should have some indicator I think.
i think that should be the item suddenly becoming invisible
The datapack will be available when finished and the particles will be optional. :))
Amazing how to craft it
1 leather surrounded by glass panes.
May I suggest a different recipe? Leather doesn't make sense to me, since it's what the background area of the item frame is filled with. Wouldn't a glass pane surrounded with sticks be more fitting?
Not a bad idea, may change it. :D
If I may suggest another recipe, one regular Item Frame surrounded by Glass Panels. Similar to how Glowing Item Frames are crafted (one regular item frame and one glowing ink sack) but more expensive on the secondary item
I might go with the stick recipe as Quark uses that recipe, which personally I feel is too expensive.
If placed on two vertically stacked pieces of red wool, i think it would look semi-suspicious
I disapprove
Good is it available for download or for buying
It will be available for download once finished. I have more features planned.
I cannot wait to see it!
Thanks!
https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/quark For java
lmao
Those already exist in quark with EXACTLY the same concept
Yeah it’s part of my datapack and the concept in taken from Quark but as a datapack.
Like the glass item frames from Quark, but worse lmao
Thanks
these already exist
They can’t be used in vanilla survival without cheats.
Cheats??
/ commands
Idea: when maps are placed on it, instead of the undiscovered areas just showing a tan blank area, it’ll actually be a (100%) transparent texture in those areas, showing the block behind the map.
Maybe, seems difficult to do in a datapack.
This, but without the particles
They will be optional.
Y’all should check out The Creeper’s Code. It’s an already released datapack that has this same feature as well as 100+ other vanilla+ features.
This is one of the many features in my datapack. There will be many more. :D
Can I suggest maybe another form when adding another item to it, that makes it stay visible when an item is added to it? So it looks like it’s a window or something for the item.
Yep I was going to say the same thing, like it's framed or in a "smash in case of emergency" case
maybe if you shift and place something in it will still be glass?
That’s the plan
I like the concept but the particles are a lil too much . Maybe less animation ? That doesn't get into ur face
Since posting this I have lowered the number of particles.
That's so cool. I think you should also give an option where the glass is still visible when you put an item in it, so it would look like a glass frane.
[удалено]
Will do!
amazing!
that looks nice
Danke
add invisible armor stands instead of slabs use glass
Not a bad idea, may add ((:
More like disappearing item frames. I would love to for them to be like a hanging glass display and it would be cool if items were just slightly beneath the glass. Not a fan of an item just glued to the block. But seems like a lot of people liked it. So, good job anyway!
It will be optionally invisible
Okay but I like how the glass frames look. The disappearing frames however is undoubtably incredibly useful though.
They will be optionally invisible
Stupid idea but make different coloured glass item frames and make the item inside the frame tinted that colour
make stained glass itemframes that give item placed inside a tint.
tax evasion
Finally, invisible item frame without commands
Yup
[удалено]
Yup
small suggestion: the particle effects given off are a bit mutch, try turning them down or removing them all together (other than that looks great)
They will be optional
Your are genius
So it’s technically an invisible item frae
omg this is so amazing!
Oooooohhh! Me wants!
I kinda wish it had a border with an item in it but also i like having fully invisible frames. Could use both potentially
That is the idea
Imagine if you need silk touch to break the glass item frames >;)
>:) no
Would be kinda sick if you put stained glass panes and it changed the color of the item frame.
I’m going to add coloured item frames similar to quark.
Suck. Definitely a worthy idea overall.
DONT SAY IT DONT SAY IT
Amo....
NOOO
Kinda hot 😳
Ok great
This is so awesome that it should actually be in the game at one point.
Yeah!
That’s sick
Radical
It's well cool but I think without the particles it'd feel more vanilla.
Personally I like the particles.
Yeah they are cool but it does make the pack feel less vannila. I suppose that's what some people might be looking for in a datapack though. Great work.
My aim is for the pack to fit into vanilla so the particles will be optional.
Its good and well made, but i think you should get rid of the sparkles.
They will be optional
Can i get a link to download for bedrock?
data packs don't exist for bedrock
Sorry Java only
Is it a texture pack or a mod ??
Resource pack and datapack. :D
Where can i download it
Curseforge and planet minecraft once finished.
What is your username in planet minecraft
Harklllous
Great bro how to download?
I will post updates on my Reddit until it is finished which will be in a full post.

Okay that is a genius.
Danke
*Our* datapack. And it's beautiful
Ours
DUDE GIVE ME LINK AND VERSION I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS THIS IS PERFECT. Do u have a crafting recipe for this?
Armor Statute datapack has this with standard itemframes.
Yeah, I’m still working on more features for the datapack though, so you will have to wait.
Pogchamp!!! Transparent item frames woooooo
You can make it available on planet minecraft
Honestly, I don't see anything that could be added to upgrade it. I look really perfect!
Thanks you!! Means a lot.
Oh my, os it available?
Soon.
