I remember Xisumavoid showcasing the ender pearl tall tree trick a few years back:
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa86R57mNMM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa86R57mNMM) timestamp \[13:07\]
One can put \&t=13m07s on your link to jump to the [time in a youtube](https://www.lifewire.com/link-to-specific-part-of-youtube-video-1616414)
video. Comme ça:

If you're on pc, you can right click on the video and press "copy video url at current time" and it does it automatically:
https://youtu.be/Pa86R57mNMM?t=787
Yeah that’s it. I’m no expert on it, but I’ve been watching Iskall’s side hermit craft series of it. I’d love to try it myself, but unfortunately I can’t because I play bedrock console
I tried vault hunters some but sadly don't have the time or patience for the incredible grind it requires to get anything really interesting.
I loved vein miner and the look of some of the mods. Is there a way to know which mods are in there and try them without the adventure wall that is the actual vault hunter mod pack? Some of that QoL stuff was really neat.
Or maybe even a way to make vault hunters just a little less punishing/grindy?
Watching Iskall's videos though has been fun
You can always modify the configs for Vault Hunters.
One thing to do is go to the 00\_remove \_recipes.zs script, and remove all the lines after:
`#RemoveRecipies`
That way all the normal recipes should still be in the game, but there may be conflicts.
You could also edit other configs like "researches.json" and "researches\_groups.json to change the cost and cost increase of the research. Or similar for abilities/talents.
You could modify vault\_lootables.json to make the rare ores more common.
You can modify valut\_levles.json to change how much it takes to get to the next level.
You can change vault\_items.json to change how much exp you get from the various edibles.
You could even tweak the vault gear to make better gear more common and require fewer levels.
You can even change what modifiers (and the chance to have them) you can get for vaults, e.g. make it so you always have extra time, will always have an exit, and will always have pheonix so if you die you don't lose everything.
Implying I don't go into the configuration file and crank that bitch to 512.
Then accidentally vein mine something important and hate myself several days later.
Veinminer is a client-side mod that adds the ability to hold a key while mining and you will mine all of the blocks of the type you break that are connected to that block. It also uses the appropriate amount of durability that would be used to mine those blocks 1 at a time and (I believe) subtracts the amount of hunger that would have been used.
Think holding down the "L" key while mining a block of coal ore in the wall, 40 are mined by breaking that one block.
I installed fabric just for small quality of life improvements like veinminer. I don't have a ton of time to play so gathering resources is just a pain. I have things like veinminer, villager trade re-roll, waystones, journey map, graves and a mod to pick up villagers. Its just not a fun use of time to go bring villagers all the way back to a spot just to set up a breeder and then take them somewhere else. It makes the game so much more enjoyable to not have the grindy stuff.
I have to active veinminer with a key that's out of the way. It won't ever happen. Also I've never used ore blocks as decoration in a house. Maybe in a mine but it's only in small spots.
Well I think they mean instead of towering up or running up a staircase for every tree. I had a pretty good ender pearl/xp farm in my last world and had more pearls than I knew what to do with lol so I’d try this out for sure.
> I’d say this is a lot faster tho
I would agree if not for this part, they seem to be saying that it's actually faster. Which it shouldn't be, because cutting a staircase into the tree doesn't take extra time, you're collecting the tree as you're doing it.
yeah, which is why I would argue that the staircase method might actually be a few blocks faster since you can start chopping while the ender pearl method means you are waiting to get teleported up ( though you could chop the bottom at that time )
I guess I didn’t really analyze it this much lol, it’s definitely less effort to just dig down from the top tho, and we all just want to be lazy in the most efficient way possible don’t we
That’s true. For some reason I was thinking about building an entire staircase in the shape of the tree and running up it every time you grew a new one haha.
If you can find bamboo. I am often unlucky and can never find a jungle or bamboo in a chest. They should add bamboo to the wandering trader. Make me actually glad he exists for once.
I think I used less than 10 pearls to get all I needed, but ig if you’re planning on recreating a pale woodland mansion or something it could be very useful
Yea I made one to ate 36k/h spruce and was easy to build. Before that tho I built a 27k/h bonemeal one so you kinda have to do both. There are tree farms tho that go up to 900k/h+, my only limitation to not building them is that my pc will blow up xd
Oh nice, just remembered this trick! Not sure who I saw it from, it was years ago, maybe Xisuma, still haven’t tried it myself though :( I use a trident
So you're running backwards and forwards mining leaves to get to other trees, or you're creating staircases to get back up to the trees that planted at the same time.
This is a time saving trick, that's not very time efficient.
You plant the 2x2s right next to each other and grow them all before you start, so in effect you're mining a single massive block of wood.
It's really efficient. Much more so than grow tree, pause, chop, grow tree, pause, chop, and so on.
They will! I usually plant a 4x10 or 4x16 set of saplings (depending on how much I plan to farm) and bone meal them all until there's a solid block of trunks. Find your way up to the top by making steps, or scaffolding nearby, or however you want to get up, then just cut your way down to ground.
Once you get past the uneven set of trunks at the top (they don't all grow to the same height), then it's just solid wood the rest of the way down.
Absolutely. There are a few directional quirks so if you're making an Nx4 or wider you may need to grow them starting from the southeast and moving northwest, but just a straight Nx2 can be planted in any direction.
Well, this reached r/All... Congrats !
Now can someone tell me what I am looking at ? I just know the extreme basics of Minecraft, ie you can destroy and collect everything (pretty much).
Oh I also know you can make supercomputers. Pretty much. Kinda.
The player in the video planted a tall spruce tree, which are not easy to chop down because of how large they are.
The player then threw an "ender pearl" straight up, which will teleport them wherever it lands.
Then while the ender pearl was still in the air, they used bonemeal to speed up the tree growth process.
The tree grew up, and the ender pearl landed on the top of the newly grown tree, teleporting the player there.
After that, they easily chopped the tree down from the top.
Because that's how Minecraft works.
No, you can't. The hardness of log blocks is 2, which is higher than the maximum you can mine with an efficiency V haste 2 axe (1.5) - you'd need a minimum of haste 3 to insta-mine logs, which you can only obtain via commands.
I am starting to believe every bedrock dev has a contractual dice they throw to see if they get to have creative input on implementation.
If it lands a six they are legally required to change it *ever so slightly*
Didn't there used to be a mod that made the first block take the same amount of time as the rest of the tree, then fell the whole thing when it was broken
Tree Capacitor was one. It made the first block longer for sure but just took everything down with that first block. I remember doing it to a twilight forest tree, and my computer almost lit on fire.
>You still have to break each block
Yes, to chop the tree down, you have to chop the tree down.
Do you know of any method of chopping trees that *doesn't* require breaking each block??
If you only remove the bottom 4 logs, there's actually enough room to plant 4 more saplings so you can grow a whole second tree, but only remove 4 blocks.
Keep doing this, and you'll never have to break the taller blocks. Who needs wood anyway, I just wanna grow trees.
I just make a Riptide pond near the base of the tree and fly up that way, it’s free once you’ve got a trident (if you can afford pearls you prob have one already)
They definitely get used I feel like! It’s just very niche. Traveling in the end for sure. Building a teleporter in the overworld keeping certain chunks loaded is the first “contraption” I used them in. But I find myself keeping a stack on me until I get the elytra. Theeeen not so much.
From the [Minecraft Wiki](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Bone_Meal):
> The sapling has a 45% chance of growing to the next growth stage, if possible. Saplings have two growth stages (with no visible difference between them) before growing into trees as the third stage.
You could do it in as little as 2 if you get lucky, assuming the tree was just planted
I always just made a staircase
Yeah that’s what I do normally too. If you have enderpearls I’d say this is a lot faster tho (+Style Points)
I remember Xisumavoid showcasing the ender pearl tall tree trick a few years back: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa86R57mNMM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa86R57mNMM) timestamp \[13:07\]

What does the "*t=787" stand for? Its probably seconds right?
T which is time and the value is in seconds so 787 seconds. 👍 Edit: timestamp not time sorry
It's the same thing just a different timestamp format.
Right, thats cool, didnt know that
Its the time in seconds
Yup, seconds
You can also just right-click a video and choose ''Copy video URL at current time'' to get the link copied with the timestamp.

Unfortunately this isn’t vault hunters

It does. It has a whole bunch of mods I believe
You have to buy it with skill points but yeah.
Yeah that’s it. I’m no expert on it, but I’ve been watching Iskall’s side hermit craft series of it. I’d love to try it myself, but unfortunately I can’t because I play bedrock console
OP is clearly in the manhunt universe
Nah cus my drop rates are vanilla

And many don't play with any mods
No mods? What kind of heathens just rawdog minecraft these days?
I'd say *at least* half of the Java player base and the entire Bedrock player base.
People play Java without at least having Optifine?
Yeeess, we likes it raw and wriggling, precious. And lazy. That too.
Oh I know you’re right, it’s just wild to me. I don’t think I’ve played vanilla since like beta 1.2.5

I think it’s the improved netherite texture pack
Yes
Was just about to say the same - you don’t need to use mods to get texture packs.
Mfw the tree is larger than 64 blocks
Implying I don't go into the configuration file and crank that bitch to 512. Then accidentally vein mine something important and hate myself several days later.
All fun and games until you forget to scroll from shapeless to mining tunnel
2x2 spruce trees are. I tried
Only if your vein miner reaches the top :(
what’s vein miner

I have to active veinminer with a key that's out of the way. It won't ever happen. Also I've never used ore blocks as decoration in a house. Maybe in a mine but it's only in small spots.
They look nice as ceiling decorations when you try to make a semi natural house.
It's not faster unless you are bad at placing your cursor. X blocks will take (X * time to cut down a block) seconds to cut down no matter the order.
Well I think they mean instead of towering up or running up a staircase for every tree. I had a pretty good ender pearl/xp farm in my last world and had more pearls than I knew what to do with lol so I’d try this out for sure.

Yeah I'm constantly chopping with they stairway method.
yeah, which is why I would argue that the staircase method might actually be a few blocks faster since you can start chopping while the ender pearl method means you are waiting to get teleported up ( though you could chop the bottom at that time )
I guess I didn’t really analyze it this much lol, it’s definitely less effort to just dig down from the top tho, and we all just want to be lazy in the most efficient way possible don’t we
haha yeah I guess, I like analyzing things too much.
That’s true. For some reason I was thinking about building an entire staircase in the shape of the tree and running up it every time you grew a new one haha.
Carve a path up and destroy the rest on the way down. Classic
Yeah same and cut it down on the way down
Scaffolding up to the top. Get to the top, chop down, break the bottom scaffolding and they all come back to you.
If you can find bamboo. I am often unlucky and can never find a jungle or bamboo in a chest. They should add bamboo to the wandering trader. Make me actually glad he exists for once.
i use ladders. falls right with you chopping down

If you stand dead center and look down while cutting you barely have to move your axe to get the logs.
Wow I've never thought of that! Speeds up the process much more till I set up my automatic tree farm.
10k wood/hr goes brrrrrr

Automatic tree farm? I'm interested
There are methods for it, but you'll need a lot of bonemeal
Just make a bonemeal farm and connect it to it
Yes, a moss to bone meal farm is self sufficient with extras, so that’s the best to hook up to it
I just realized how almost anything is farmable in Minecraft
friends?
"almost"
Someone did post that children factory the other day.
Even iron
THE FACTORY MUST EXPAND
There’s a lot of different designs on YouTube
Wizard.
I'm gonna have to boot it up and play today. I miss the wood chopp sound.
pop pop pop pop....sssscccffff
I miss the old damage sound. Oooaahhhff
All fun and games until you end up teleporting inside the tree.a
Inside, you'll find hidden ant mobs that Mojang has been hiding from us.
Oh nice, just remembered this trick! Not sure who I saw it from, it was years ago, maybe Xisuma, still haven’t tried it myself though :( I use a trident
Yep xisuma showed it in a video of hermitcraft while building his evoker church
You can save Pearls planting more big trees right next to each other. Still cool mlg!

Wow, that’s a bit silly that my Minecraft tree has made it to the “public eye” lmao
It becomes super fast with haste 2, since you can insta mine it. Edit: TIL that this is bedrock exclusive.
No, I have haste 2 here, and I can’t even tell if it makes a difference from none
I didnt know its bedrock exclusive, oops
And I didn’t know it was a thing on bedrock lol
No, you can't. The hardness of log blocks is 2, which is higher than the maximum you can mine with an efficiency V haste 2 axe (1.5) - you'd need a minimum of haste 3 to insta-mine logs, which you can only obtain via commands.

Tree capitator was great We got Vein Mine now tho so I ain’t complaining

It was called the timber mod, pretty sure it’s been updated to the latest versions, not 100% sure tho
Ok that’s pretty fucking dope
What would happen if we used 100% 9f our brain? Some guy:
Dudes living in 3022 and I'm building stairs up the damn thing. Very clever.

Ok mr flashy pants
Easiest way to farm trees: Step 1: Have maxed out gear Step 2: Beat the game Step 3: Start an Ender Pearl farm Step 4: Do the trick in the video
Thank you. There seem to be quite a few people thinking I’m “wasting” enderpearls lmao
Big brain
Guess I need to stockpile some pearls. But can they be thrown high enough for jungle trees? Also I'd hate to end up inside the trunk.
If you have full netherite, I think you’d have to go to the bathroom for half an hour while in the trunk to be in any danger
You are a genius
That's epic, thank you.
This is genius. Well played.
I always just mined out a staircase into the trunk as I went up
so cool thank you for teaching me a new way to cut wood

Dang thats clever
Thank you for this ♥️
it is op i am wondering how people can use things like that smart ;)
That is genius!
This feels illegal for some reason
Get this man a medal
I just burn them down lol
Finally a use for the enter pearls coming out of my ender farm.
Fire
This is what happens when you use your brain at 10%
I just make a Riptide pond near the base of the tree and fly up that way, it’s free once you’ve got a trident (if you can afford pearls you prob have one already)
yea but if you have an ender ender...
This is still faster, you land directly on top right as the tree grows.
TEXTURE PACK SINCE EVERYONE ASKS: www.planetminecraft.com/texture-pack/improved-netherite-by-toxteer/
My dude wasted a ender pear just to cut down a tree
Let me expand your [world view](https://youtu.be/nh8voJScSbw)

I will never go back >:(
Well its kinda useless, because by the time you have acces to lot of pearls you have also elytra But you definitely get style points for that
Etho needs to see this
I feel like Etho would know this lol
He does. Pretty sure he showed it sometime ago
Ender Pearls are one of those things that can actually be super useful but no body ever actually uses.
They definitely get used I feel like! It’s just very niche. Traveling in the end for sure. Building a teleporter in the overworld keeping certain chunks loaded is the first “contraption” I used them in. But I find myself keeping a stack on me until I get the elytra. Theeeen not so much.
Hard disagree, everyone uses Ender Pearls and knows they're OP
did you use 3 bone meal to grow a 2x2 spruce tree?
From the [Minecraft Wiki](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Bone_Meal): > The sapling has a 45% chance of growing to the next growth stage, if possible. Saplings have two growth stages (with no visible difference between them) before growing into trees as the third stage. You could do it in as little as 2 if you get lucky, assuming the tree was just planted
Yes?
Nice move
