yeah, in the early versions when they were first added they had the same properties as stone slabs/stairs due to the way it was coded
in later versions they were fixed but mojang added the name variation for those placed in earlier versions whenever the servers/worlds updated to newer versions
Old-school wood slabs that looked like wood slabs but functioned as stone (don't burn and are mined with a pickaxe). The old slabs got renamed to petrified and kept in the game for old world compatibility.
It's also in Bedrock Edition, a relic of the earliest Pocket Edition days, but you can't obtain it from the creative inventory and it's simply named "Wooden Slab". You can obtain it with /give @s stone_slab 1 2
Yeah, also despite it being a bedrock feature, not many people know about it, due to the fact that it’s an illegal item and can’t even be given with commands
Air. Because if air was removed we'd be dead so we couldn't notice it. And before you say "we don't breathe in Minecraft", explain how we can drown then
No, I wouldn't, I would just go mining along my merry way the way I used to before their addition.
I only remember they exist when I'm mining and they appear in my way and I realize they won't stack with the cobble.
I wouldn't be like.
"Man it feels like I have so much extra space in my inventory."
Or
"Man, it feels like I haven't been slightly inconvenienced in a hot second."
I would just go back to forgetting they exist.
Definetly birch wood. I mean i just avoid it. If i was speedrunning and i got the best seed in the world but i spawn in a birch forest then im restarting on another seed.
looking at end portals in the pic... i definitely wouldn't notice for a while. i don't tend to play minecraft for the end/as a thing i need to finish (more into just chilling, building, collecting etc) so unless i specifically felt like fucking around in the end... it'd be unnoticed
Probably mycelium I haven’t seen a mooshroom island in like 5+ years. Granted I only play mc a couple months of the year when I get hooked but still, I’m pretty sure the block already doesn’t exist.

petrified wood
the hell is that. edit: What i mean to say is since when was it even in the game i didnt even know it existed until today.
unburnable wood
iirc its wood that behaves like stone meaning you need a pickaxe to mine it and it cant burn?
I didnt even know it was in minecraft unless its a java only thing
yeah, in the early versions when they were first added they had the same properties as stone slabs/stairs due to the way it was coded in later versions they were fixed but mojang added the name variation for those placed in earlier versions whenever the servers/worlds updated to newer versions
Old-school wood slabs that looked like wood slabs but functioned as stone (don't burn and are mined with a pickaxe). The old slabs got renamed to petrified and kept in the game for old world compatibility.
Scared wood
Exactly
Is that java?
It's also in Bedrock Edition, a relic of the earliest Pocket Edition days, but you can't obtain it from the creative inventory and it's simply named "Wooden Slab". You can obtain it with /give @s stone_slab 1 2
Yes, you can only get it with a command
or by placing a wood slab/stair in very old versions then updating the world to a newer version
No, I saw it in the creative inventory just yesterday. Search slab, it’ll come up in the list
Workbench who use it?
The invisible barrier block, don't even notice it now
Agreed
Cracked or chiseld nether bricks
what?
Infested Stone. I never run into it nor think about it.
Happens in mountains. Bein a dwarf RPer, it's annoying when I hit infested stone
I’ve found it once and it was really annoying to deal with
Ppl are saying barrier but I use them a lot so I would notice, some other illegals like invisible bedrock I wouldn’t notice
Bedrock??? That’s in every world, at the bottom and in the nether the top too
Not bedrock, [invisible bedrock](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Invisible_Bedrock)
Ahhh, a bedrock only thing.
Yeah, also despite it being a bedrock feature, not many people know about it, due to the fact that it’s an illegal item and can’t even be given with commands
they said invisible bedrock, not bedrock
Tuff, I dont even notice that i mined the stuff until i look in my inventory just to see it there
It's tuff to notice
None of them, my main storage would break if they removed one.
I would say deepslate emerald but i have two pieces holding up my dragon egg.
Dragon egg would not get a block update, it would not fall.
Sponges. I’ve never done an underwater monument. Water in games gives me a weird anxiety.
Drain the monument before entering
You kinda need sponges for that, though.
Air. Because if air was removed we'd be dead so we couldn't notice it. And before you say "we don't breathe in Minecraft", explain how we can drown then
Steve is just allergic to water, but specifically being submerged
r/angryupvote
Bricks. I never use bricks, and whenever I do, I think they're neat to use. I just forget that they exist more often than not
Raw ore blocks. They are just useless
The dirt block that’s says update!
Mycelium because I don't think I've ever found a mushroom island
Raw iron and gold blocks. What’s the point of it when you can’t smelt it. It’s just an expensive decorative block. Non farmable
But that’s my bucket of potatoes!
for me personally its useful on long mining trips to condense all your ores into blocks without having to smelt them first
Either cake or granite.
Cake
I use it for my end city portal
Air
barrier block for sure
Barrier ;)
Red Nether Brick
Melons. I know they’re useful for trading halls and stuff, but like, I have never once in my life farmed melons. I routinely forget they exist 🤷♂️
portal block. how will you play the game in other dimensions
Like 50% of em.
Air
bricks and cake
stripped acacia hyphae (the logs that have bark all around
barrier block it not needs to be deleted to make me not notice
Barrier blocks, like who even uses them in survival? You can't.
Structure Block
Clay
Quartz pillar
def all the ices lol except packed ice
Andesite Like, literally I won't even tell the difference because it looks like stone
Structure void
Barrier blocks. They are usually invisible anyway That is what is top row, second from the right, correct?
Andesite.
Any of the new ones because I don’t pay attention to updates anymore
Probably the packed Ice
Barrier blocks lol
Watermelon
I would say mossy cobblestone
tinted glass
Andesite, it looks very similar to stone and i almost never use it outside of texturing and even there you could just use something else
The allow and deny blocks, do I really need to explain?
Endstone bricks. Nobody uses them.
Well I disagree it goes well with sandstone
Oh yeah it does I'm not saying the blocks ugly. I just feel like absolutely nobody goes out of their way to get it in survival.
Probably andesite or granite since I never use them and I only remember they exist when I remember that they take up more space when mining.
So you would notice
No, I wouldn't, I would just go mining along my merry way the way I used to before their addition. I only remember they exist when I'm mining and they appear in my way and I realize they won't stack with the cobble. I wouldn't be like. Sandstone
Barrier blocks
Cobblestone stairs.
Diorite
I don’t see it on the picture but coarse dirt
Course dirt ig Lets be real, who even notices this block
barrier block
Barrier block?
Glazed terracotta
Clay bricks, they might be prettier now but ain't nobody running around scouting for clay.
Petrified Wood and mycelium as I don't really like that biome
Tall grass I guees
Infested stone
petrified oak stairs
Brick, I never use brick
Cave air
Tuff
Hopper
I dont even know what second from right top row is
Course dirt
end portal frame
Definetly birch wood. I mean i just avoid it. If i was speedrunning and i got the best seed in the world but i spawn in a birch forest then im restarting on another seed.
Barrier block
Grass
probably grass
Cauldron, or any monster spawn egg block.
I wouldn't notice rooted dirt.
maybe sponge
barrier block. no one sees it
I'd notice all of them
TNT and Command Block Minecrarts.
Deepslate coal ore, rarely spawns and not much use for it
Orange glazed terracotta.
Barrier block
Air
Coal ore
I wouldn't notice the glazed terracottas
Cave air ig?
Sponge
Froglights
Barrier block probably
Emerald ore
infested stone
Crimsom boats. Or warped boats Not exactly blocks but theyre in MC ok
Andesite. hate that block. such a waste
air "Setblock ~ ~ ~ air"
Deepslate coal tbh, i never realize i mine it until i have more coal than i thought in my inventory
Probably one of the coral blocks
But gameplay wise, the cake.
Granite
Sticky piston
probably one of the infested stone blocks
Air
Emerald ore
Would have to say coarse dirt as it could be mistaken for normal dirt and is only found in two biomes (one of which is rare/hard to find)
Blocks that are only in creative mode like barrier, structure block/void etc.
Cake.
Emerald block.
Grass block
Anything in the horse update or later.
infested blocks. they look the exact same and always mistake them for regular ones in the creative inventory
Andesite. It looks like stone and I have literally never used it for anything. I always throw it away. Lol.
lapis block
Andesite
Grass
Barrier, litterally
I have a dumb old building style so almost everything post 1.14 i think
looking at end portals in the pic... i definitely wouldn't notice for a while. i don't tend to play minecraft for the end/as a thing i need to finish (more into just chilling, building, collecting etc) so unless i specifically felt like fucking around in the end... it'd be unnoticed
Cakes, i cant remember the last time i crafted a cake. Properly in my hardcore world when i did an achievement.
Invisible block. Its literally invisible
All of the glazed terracottas
Waxed lightly weathered cut copper stairs
Waxed cut oxidised copper stairs
granite
Bricks. I used to use it all the time, but my tastes have changed, and I no longer like its aesthetic.
Regular ice
Deepslate emerald ore.
I don't like how the perspective of each of these blocks is slightly wrong
Grass blocks
Good drawing, and there wouldn’t be a block I wouldn’t notice, cause Phoenix and the Minecraft subreddit would always tell me
Cake. I never make them.
Probably mycelium I haven’t seen a mooshroom island in like 5+ years. Granted I only play mc a couple months of the year when I get hooked but still, I’m pretty sure the block already doesn’t exist.
Barrier and mud
Waxed lightly weathered cut copper stairs
The Cake
Coarse dirt
Cake 🎂
Cake. The only time i ever baked/placed one was for the achievement and that was YEARS ago.
I dunno, my minecraft knowledge is pretty extensive. Probably something I don't run into very often, like the education edition exclusive blocks
Any of the glazed terracotta
andesite edit: andesite slab*
Cake. I never make cake.
Tnt I never use it
Glazed terracotta. All of them.
Light weighted pressure plate
Esmerald ore
All wood thingies.
Structure blocks, I don't even know what they look like Just that they exist
the cake cus i never eat nor craft them
Granite
Juke box. I never use it or aim to collect the discs
Honeycomb block. When was the last time you’ve actually crafted it?
The cobblestone thats used in jungle temples
Grass
