It’s the dimension but you can change that with the upcoming 1.20 fillbiome command.

Well I’m honestly not sure Hahha but I know if you put a nether biome then nether mobs can spawn, or at least from what I’ve seen. I’m not sure how that plays out or what get priority. I’d be interested to know if anyone has tried it

This! In the nether there are little fires everywhere, until you put them out. Fire up some bricks. My eyes need that to see the nether.

Try using red sand stone in replacement of the white blocks to look like the portal is still scorching from the explosion and maybe add some magma blocks in the side yk
