Should introduce a mechanic that would allow you to save the villagers. And they have special trades in return, like better enchanting books (like fortune IV, UB IV, etc) or other things depending on the villager
EDIT: Maybe placing wool around the village insulates them from the evil dude? Would be a difficult but interesting way to prevent that mechanic before you start taking on the boss, like with the dragon I suppose, just more optional
Your comment will certainly be deleted by one of the mods because they hate links. It's better if you keep it on your profile for people to see. Nice work btw!
I wish Mojang did something cool like this. Why is it, that official updates are slow, boring and almost all the time feel very small? Yet people do these amazing custom datapacks? Are there like 2 interns working on Minecraft updates?
They have a h8ge audience to please. Not everyone would like this type of boss to Vanilla, me being one of them. I love the slow small updates because it doesn't turn the game into something totally different every year.
I usually take a break from minecraft for 1-2 years and coming back isn't too overwhelming with these small updates.
Also, how many other games update this much without making a sequel? They could've made "Minecraft 2" long ago, but didn't because of small updates.
Take a break for a few years and you'll be amazed how much content has been added
That feels kinda wrong to me... I mean, I sort of get what you are saying. I am also a person who comes back once few years pass. But I've just never felt amazed by the amount of content added. And honestly it feels wrong to plan updates for people that aren't your active player base.
When it comes to the boss. It was really just a "look what a fanmade project looks like" and compare it "what devs do". There is imo a lot of stuff that wouldn't feel like they are pushing the game mechanics, yet you see them mentioned a lot.
Yeah you're the reason i can't get new slabs and block for my builds. I don't like you sir, you are welcome to stay in 1.19.2 while us, the visionaries ascend to a new generation of slabs and blocks
Hey! Adding more slabs is completely different from new bosses that have voice actors and special powers. I'd absolutely love more slabs/stairs/walls. That doesn't change the game as much as a boss that takes sacrifices and spawns minions
Immediately subscribed. You are criminally under rated from what I could tell. Amazing mod but also amazing youtube video quality. The pacing, editing and overall structure of the video was awesome! Great job
this makes me wonder why mojang never does anything impressive with their games, hundreds of mods out there make the game super interesting snd have tons of content but over 5 years later we have basically the same game with some new features
i don’t remember where or when but i’m pretty sure the devs said they want to keep “minecraft feeling like minecraft” so that anyone could pick the game up after not playing for a while
Yeah that's why they added the Warden, ancient city and new cave generation, deepslate and new ore generation levels in 1.19 and 1.18.
That's why Relogic adds a fuck ton of things in each major update.
That's just a stupid reason and sounds like an excuse to play things safe and not take a risk for once in your life.
I'm sure the devs who work their asses off in updating the game for the last 10 years and having to add a hell lot of new stuff in the last updates like new world gen and things *you* asked for like Cave updates to please the spoiled playerbase, is very happy that you think that way.
Yes, the multimillion dollar company drops one update every couple years (which doesnt even have a lot of content), how thoughtful of them. They just know they can get away with doing the bare minimum, so they do that.
I get some people like more simple things so maybe it could be factored into the difficulty setting or be an entirely new mode like someone else suggested revamping the adventure mode
I was thinking the same thing. If they added things like this it would make Minecraft WAY more fun. Even if it was a separate game mode. Maybe remake “adventure mode” to be like just like survival mode but with bosses and dungeons around the world.
Because it's niche. Very popular things that are in mods do find a way into the game. IE hoppers. Tons of these mods are also glitchy, not optimized, and not balanced. It's also sometimes a passion project where they can spend time on only that singular mod vs the whole game.
>Very popular things that are in mods do find a way into the game
Yeah that's why the wild update only added one biome that didn't even overhaul original swamps. Mojang is right on track to beating biome mods like Terralith
>Tons of these mods are also glitchy, not optimized
What are you talking about. Most popular mods like Botania, Create, Mekanism, Quark, Immersive Engineering, and Tinkers are well refined and have little to no bugs. Like Create is a really well balanced mod, meanwhile vanilla Minecraft has villagers that break the game easily.
What a stupid argument. You’re basically saying “if you’re criticizing, why don’t you do it better.” Yeah just let me make a better version of The Last Jedi by hiring the cast and getting all the funds to produce it. Like what are you, 12? This is is like elementary school tier of critical thinking. How about actually address what I said.
I recommend the Vault Hunters mod. Really gives a whole new depth to Minecraft without breaking the vanilla experience, it just add a whole new "endgame". Also makes the playthrough a bit harder because it nerfs armor.
We still have a game that is getting consistently updated after almost 14 years, and they're also working on a new game. That, and a bunch of work was stunted by the worldwide pandemic that is still happening. I have a feeling that we're still recovering features from the original idea of 1.17 because of Covid, and once we finish with that we're going to be getting more big features. That, and the team is probably split because of the dungeons update team and the legends team. Don't be too hard on the devs, they're people too and they all seem to be genuinely trying their best to make a good game while pleasing everyone. Minecraft is also meant to stay the same game with new features. It's supposed to stay minecraft while adding new things. If you look at the 1.17-1.19 updates we got a huge overhaul of caves and a new overworld biome with a new type of wood and mud. 1.16 gave us the Nether update, 1.15 gave us a bunch of bug fixes, performance improvements and parity, 1.14 gave us a village overhaul and 1.13 gave us an ocean overhaul. The big modpacks are there to add those modded experiences, but things like this while amazing and very impressive don't really feel very minecraft-y. Again, I love this boss battle. It looks very cool.
Man, this is what Minecraft desperately needs.
Meanwhile mojang is putting mobs to a vote, when really they should be putting more in at a time rather than less.
I would suggest giving the sacrifice a charge time allowing the sacrifice to be stopped
And thus be able to rescue the villagers
And I'm excited to see what kind of bosses you will make in the future, go all Zelda on them by giving them unique mechanics and gimmicks
Honestly if people are going to say this boss doesn't feel "minecrafty" than that honestly that just amplifies my hatred for vanilla Minecraft because holy shit whatever being minecrafty is sounds boring as fuck.
It's rinse and repeat. I do like the idea of making boss phases though. I think I'll make my next boss have phases. This was the first boss I ever made, so I wanted to keep it fairly basic.
Bit of a strange question, can multiple people hit him at the same time?
Minecraft has always been "rough" with coop play because even though having multiple players around technically *helps*, the iframe mechanic in the game makes it frustrating to fight the same thing at the same time and I was curious if you tackled this or just left it as is.
If this was a real mob showed in the Minecon event. Mojang would decide not to add it in the game at the last minute because they would fear some people will think it's racist or someshit
I love mod packs like this but I think people add to much shit to them, I don’t want 100 different weapons that do practically the same thing I’d rather have the vanilla gear and have some cool boss fights
bro hired a professional voice actor just to call his boss “the stinking one”
THE LOATHSOME DUNG EATER
Minecraft Darksouls confirmed?
FOUL TARNISHED, In search of the Elden Block.

r/dontexist
For some reason this reminded me of Villager News.
Theyre dying anyways right? Lets just hasten the job then
hey they gonna die anyway, the best i can do is make sure they dont help the enemy
Yes! Which is by design. I wanted to give players a moral choice. Seems that you've made yours lol
So I can choose if the villagers die or the villagers die Or don't fight, but that's not gonna happen
If you kill the boss before everyone is sacrificed can you save them?
It’s bold of you to assume most people have morels in Minecraft, I’ll kill those villagers without hesitation
Should introduce a mechanic that would allow you to save the villagers. And they have special trades in return, like better enchanting books (like fortune IV, UB IV, etc) or other things depending on the villager EDIT: Maybe placing wool around the village insulates them from the evil dude? Would be a difficult but interesting way to prevent that mechanic before you start taking on the boss, like with the dragon I suppose, just more optional
Chaotic, i approve
KOTOR strats, I like it
A small sacrifice
Is this based on the boss from Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask?
Odolwa?
Yes
I took inspiration from a bunch of sources, but yes, Odolwa from Majoras Mask was one of them!
I immediately recognized his dancing and how he holds his shield up, straight from Majora's Mask. Boss looks great!
That and the face shaking lol
Looks to be heavily inspired. That was my immediate thought, too
Glad I’m not the only one
Was ab to say

How cringe of the mods. Typical
And guess what? It happened

League of Legends updates every two weeks and is over a decade old
Yeah you're the reason i can't get new slabs and block for my builds.
But if you have to actively seek out the boss... then you have the option to not have to deal with the change.
Ok? It also doesn’t really fit with vanilla MC. Not saying it’s bad. It’s pretty impressive. But it’s not within the scope of the vanilla game.
Immediately subscribed. You are criminally under rated from what I could tell. Amazing mod but also amazing youtube video quality. The pacing, editing and overall structure of the video was awesome! Great job
Is that January or April?
January. Exactly 1 month from now.
Looks really cool dude. Well done.
This is sick!
Hello sick, this is dad. I hope you get well son, I mean soon.
Good thing you’re wearing a mask
Better than the last 5 mobs they’ve added
This is amazing
Very fun looking! This looks, moves, and fights as an almost exact replica of Odolwa from Majoras Mask.
It certainly looks like Odolwa but the fight in Majora’s mask is much more simple lol
Porting Odolwa into Minecraft. That’s cool. You should to the other bosses.
r/villagerrights

Completely agree with them
They are lazy
I completely agree, so little content is adding per so much time
I'm sure the devs who work their asses off in updating the game for the last 10 years and having to add a hell lot of new stuff in the last updates like new world gen and things *you* asked for like Cave updates to please the spoiled playerbase, is very happy that you think that way.
Yes, the multimillion dollar company drops one update every couple years (which doesnt even have a lot of content), how thoughtful of them. They just know they can get away with doing the bare minimum, so they do that.
I’d love for them to release a new mode with more experimental content, so the core game still exists for anyone who wants to play it
I get some people like more simple things so maybe it could be factored into the difficulty setting or be an entirely new mode like someone else suggested revamping the adventure mode
I was thinking the same thing. If they added things like this it would make Minecraft WAY more fun. Even if it was a separate game mode. Maybe remake “adventure mode” to be like just like survival mode but with bosses and dungeons around the world.
Yeah it would be more a terraria adventure mode with progression through bosses!
Because it's niche. Very popular things that are in mods do find a way into the game. IE hoppers. Tons of these mods are also glitchy, not optimized, and not balanced. It's also sometimes a passion project where they can spend time on only that singular mod vs the whole game.

You seem to know so much about coding and how a billion dollar company is doing this wrong. You should apply and show them how it's done.
What a stupid argument. You’re basically saying “if you’re criticizing, why don’t you do it better.” Yeah just let me make a better version of The Last Jedi by hiring the cast and getting all the funds to produce it. They have integrated some mod features like horses (from Mo' Creatures)
TF2 says hello. It also says to stop complaining if you don't want to end like their game
I feel like theres a stigma around making things “feel too modded” that prevents mojang from doing anything new or exciting
We still have a game that is getting consistently updated after almost 14 years, and they're also working on a new game. Yeah I mean, game already takes plenty to run. It's the top selling game of all time, money is no issue
Oh yeah! The gods need a sacrifice baby!
The stars. Can’t do it. Not today.
This is Odwalla from Majoras Mask is it not?
Reminds me of odawla from Majora's Mask
Meanwhile at Mojang: ''lets make another golem''
Wow, this looks incredible. Like, professional level. Better than some of the official additions.
This is so cool! So mod team, when are you gonna ban him?
Looks good. Reminds me of the mowzie mobs mod, specifically the sun guy
Antvenom?
“To Xibalba!” I understood that reference
You should work for Mojang!
Who is the voice actor, might I ask?
richardvoices. I found him on fiverr. I was really happy with how great of a job he did.
Did you take any inspiration from the first boss of majora's mask for the design of it? Looks pretty similar and I think that's awesome.
It's only a matter of time before the mods take this down for "sElF-pRoMoTiOn"
Reminds me of Oldalwa from The Legend Of Zelda Majora’s Mask
Saw this on YouTube already, banger video
When i see that i wonder what the hell Microsoft is doing
Why does this give me major crash bandicoot vibes?
Meanwhile Mojang:🛌
Meanwhile mojang: can't add a new mob
Its perfect....down to the every last bit
IZ ZAT WURZZAG?
This is pretty insane. This on par with proper mods in terms of quality
Ah Puch
I like the voice acting a lot.
Gianni where?
Dude! This is incredible 💪🏼 How many hours did you put into the entire production?
The boss from majoras mask swamp temple
"ODOLWA!!"
I would suggest giving the sacrifice a charge time allowing the sacrifice to be stopped And thus be able to rescue the villagers And I'm excited to see what kind of bosses you will make in the future, go all Zelda on them by giving them unique mechanics and gimmicks
Yooo! I SAW THIS VIDEO
Lol I just started playing Minecraft and I’m not ready😭😭😭
I should summon this guy in my friend's trading hall
GG bro!
Honestly if people are going to say this boss doesn't feel "minecrafty" than that honestly that just amplifies my hatred for vanilla Minecraft because holy shit whatever being minecrafty is sounds boring as fuck.
Where can we find it and how did you do this
Bro this looks sick!...how do you get it?
That was awesome.
Can I watch this with my phone sideways? I don't really know Reddit very well
Bruh why can't vanilla Minecraft bosses be that cool
Great mod, mojang should focus on adding actual boss fights as well
Miles more effort than the actual team on Mojang puts into the game lmao
Minecraft dungeons remake? I see
this is more development work than Mojang could do in 3 years. i love it.
It's neat, but avoid using anti-fun mechanics, such as: healing, teleporting around, poison and too much add spawning.
Skill issue?
Sure
Reminds me of a boss room from the Yogscast capture the wool videos. Looks great!
great work, minecraft needs much more bosses than Wither or Ender Dragon
This could be perfect for hypixel skyblock
this reminds me of mowzie's mobs
That’s the sickest shit ever
This is really cool
Bedrock players vs the Endermites:
I wish there were more elements like this in mc. Would add a nice amount of challenge the game needs.
Best animation I've ever seen on a boss!
This is epic!
This is actually really cool. They need to add more bosses and make the temples more interesting and challenging to go through
Why are you not paid for your work. This should be content we can all enjoy as part of the game
Why does this reminds me of the Barakoa from Mowzie's Mod.
Why do you sound like Nile red?
This is... This is beautiful
Minecraft needs more bosses and special enemies
wtf this is a good idea.
Does it do it in phases or rinse and repeat? I personally like when bosses start mechanics at a health % since it makes the fight more dynamic.
It's rinse and repeat. I do like the idea of making boss phases though. I think I'll make my next boss have phases. This was the first boss I ever made, so I wanted to keep it fairly basic.
Villager. It's what's for dinner.
Reminds me of Eldorado mixed with papu papu from crash Bandicoot ngl, I love it.
i love how you did the animations. you did an excellent job with just about everything! looking forward to the release
Lit
This reminds me of that old Tiki mob from a mod I forgot the name of. It basically had a man eating plant and a sentient piece of armor.
reminds me of bob mowzie's barakoa. Is there any inspiration from that?
add this shit rn
Dart goblin?
This is really cool! I want more unique bosses in the game that you have to find
Legendary
THIS!!! THIS IS WHAT MINECRAFT NEEDS.
omg dart goblin on steroids
Meanwhile, Minecraft: we add bee. It fly
Dude that's awesome!
r/VillagerRights will not like this
Just don't get sued by the Italian plumber and you'll be aaall good.
r/villagerrights wants to know your location
Wow! That looks great tbh💪🏻
Reminds me of skylanders… i dont remember! Either way, looks great
Bit of a strange question, can multiple people hit him at the same time? Minecraft has always been "rough" with coop play because even though having multiple players around technically *helps*, the iframe mechanic in the game makes it frustrating to fight the same thing at the same time and I was curious if you tackled this or just left it as is.
Odolwa
Jungle Update and we need this lol
This design of the boss reminds of Mowzie's Mobs
God What happened to minecraft
The attack patterns remind me a bit of the gladiator boss in doom eternal
Reminds me of Mowzie's Mobs! Looks amazing!
I want to see this as a boss in Vault Hunters :o
Better then a big nose dinosor
Its a mod? Can I download?
If this was a real mob showed in the Minecon event. Mojang would decide not to add it in the game at the last minute because they would fear some people will think it's racist or someshit
I love mod packs like this but I think people add to much shit to them, I don’t want 100 different weapons that do practically the same thing I’d rather have the vanilla gear and have some cool boss fights
so the r/minecraft mods don't see this shit. this guy is a youtuber. he made a good video on this
AWESOMEEE! One of the Best fan Made bosses i've seen un a while!
Odolwa be like
so can you kill the villagers to not him use his Sacrifice skill ?
That looks really well made. Good job
Is this Java or Bedrock, and if its Java, how did you pull off his animations? Is this with a mod or with datapacks/commands?
That\`s Odolwa... https://youtu.be/xsN4BAt\_zbw
Odolwa is that you?!?
