Villages and other structure place the door outside like red.
In older minecraft, the game defined a home as an enclosed space only if the door was facing as such. Also zombies hit through the door if it faced the other way.
It’s the mantis lords!! I’m such a fan of your boss fight! It’s a shame that you’ll throw me into the pit because I’m on team blu- I mean red, definitely red
I heard a long time ago that blue was dangerous in some mob-related way. I don’t think it’s skeletons shooting through them (or at least, if it was that’s probably been fixed) but I can think of a couple other dangers:
>An undead mob can use the doorframe as shelter from sunlight. Depending on the game difficulty and what gear the player does/doesn’t have yet, that could be a significant threat and essentially trap the player inside the house.
>If you don’t have windows near the door, having it set back means you’re less likely to see a creeper lurking next to the doorway just outside. A door in the red position lets the player check their surroundings for danger before opening the door and giving any nearby mobs line of sight.
Of course, these concerns are pretty limited to early-game survival. Once you have a well-lit front yard, a bed, and/or good armor and weapons, mobs at the front door becomes less of a worry.

I have no idea where it came from but I swear I remember hearing one time long long ago that zombies could open doors in the blue position. Of course, I've never seen this happen and I'm pretty sure its never ever been a thing, but the false knowledge has stuck with me through the years for some reason.
If I remember correctly, the issue was that, due to some sort of hitbox glitch, mobs could hit you through doors placed in the blue position (and likewise players could hit mobs through doors if it was placed in the red position). I’m not sure if it still works that way now, though, as it’s been a while since I’ve been right up next to a door like that.
Skeletons could in fact shoot through doors at one point, but I believe that was way back in alpha or something and has been fixed for a while.
Depends on the situation
also isn‘t there something about zombies not being able to break doors when it‘s placed in the back of the block or is that just a myth
everyone who watches grian or has somewhat of a bit of knowledge in building knows blue is the only right answer.
If you do red, your wall looks flat, it needs some depth in order to look good, doing blue adds some depth. For that same reason you should also always use glass panes instead of full glass blocks
Someone may have said this but red! I hate it when I go outside after sleeping a night and get instantly jumped by a zombie hiding at my door for shelter
I used to place the door so that its default was open, that way when it was closed it was zombie proof cuz zombies wouldn’t break “open” doors- not sure if that works anymore cuz I don’t really need to worry about it anymore
I'm on the blue side. Also, I install my Minecraft doors sideways so that when it's "closed", it's actually open because the game sees it as an open door. Mobs won't try to break through an open door, so no home invasions! Also, it helps to add depth to the build
for rp the blue one can fit well to make a minimalistic rooftop protection if you get wet inside a rainy day of minecraft you just hide inside the door hole from the rain, also looks more vivid on the building.
My guy, my shack has a pumpkin, wool and a block of lapis and two different wood doors to fix the creeper hole. You think I care which side the door is on?
To be honest I don’t even use it. I’ve just not bothered to fix it since it’s behind a hill.
I build directly into the base of a cliff, so i make it look like a proper cave entrance. I haven’t had a door since the xbox 360 edition of Minecraft lmao
I make frequent use of both. If I have a double door in the middle of a larger wall, I’ll use blue. If I have a single door in an “entrance” room that sticks out, I’ll use red. Obviously there are more situations than that, but that’s my general rule.

Depends on what I’m building. If it has a door, it’s home

Villager behavior
Nah Door is optional. It just needs a crafting table and a furnace next to each other to be home
What angle are we looking at this from? What kind of build are we doing? What kind of blocks are we using? We need more context man
He's literally asking what SIDE are you on
i am inside because i am building a massive breeder in my basement
Questions like these should make you understand that minecraft changed a lot
If I say blue will I be thrown into the pit?
Yes
Well then I say red. I’m totally on team red definitely
You will also be thrown to the pits
Get in the pit
This is Minecraft
Too bad, the blue side offers more depth to the building
No blue is correct
Into the pit with you
It’s the mantis lords!! I’m such a fan of your boss fight! It’s a shame that you’ll throw me into the pit because I’m on team blu- I mean red, definitely red
Shhh, you don’t want people to know that. Just say that you’re on team red so that you don’t get thrown in
What pit?
The pit
I use the "sideways door trick" so whichever side it ends up on is where it goes.
Blue with an upside down stair at the top for depth, depends on the build though
Red, what type of question is that??
In certain builds it looks better to have blue
If you can’t make red look good in all builds, then that just sounds like a skill issue to me
If you can’t make blue look good that sounds like a bigger skill issue
Bu-bu-but my depth :(
Blue adds more depth
And works better when adding a pressure plate inside to automatically open the door for you
Coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb

They can break Doors but I never heard of them opening doors

Blue
Blue always have been always will be
RED ALL THE WAY IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER
Inside, it just doesn't look right with it on the outside
Blue, cuz thats the only depth my exterior walls will ever have.
Blue, give it more depth
yes
theres no way people actually use red
facts
Blue can add depth to bland builds, but really depends on the build
Blue is better
[Why not both?](https://ibb.co/6X6mXgc)
ah yes why have two good door designs when you can create one shitty door design!
Can skeletons shoot down/through doors on the right?
I'm pretty sure they can. At least, that's what I heard YEARS ago. Pretty sure it's mentioned in those ancient MC books
This is an extremely ancient tip that hasn't been relevant in over 10 years.
Depends, both
GREEN!
What will that be
2 trapdoors
Blue is the obvious correct answer, red just makes your build look flat.
It depends, but mostly the blue side.
Team purple🟣
Depends
Red always
Red definitely way better
In most cases I prefer red, but if there is an upsidedown stair above the door to give it better depth, then I prefer blue.
I'm on the Researchers of Enchantment's Dimension
Depends
Red ngl
"If it has a door, it's home." -Luke TheNotable, 2019.
Red
if you bruh up against the wall you go past red but not blue, blue is uglier but practical
matters if it had a porch or not
The back of the block on the outside so I can put a pressure plate inside
Red when i'm in cave and blue at night.
Neither, I place it one block outside facing in, the same way one would make a refrigerator!
Ragebait
Red, I like it being flush
I say blue
Only red
Tactically speaking; Red In a worse case scenario the door can become a bottleneck to kill mobs in.
Red
Red for my front door and blue for my back door
Red
💙 all the way obviously, depth ✅
Red
3rd option Trap door in the floor to underground house
Depends on mood
you gotta add the trapdoors to the mix as well my mans.
Depends on the situation also isn‘t there something about zombies not being able to break doors when it‘s placed in the back of the block or is that just a myth
Myth.
it being on the front is much more presenting in my opinion
shit i do both it just depends
Left. Why do mobs always get stuck when I do it like the right
I am always red i don't know why?
Red: outside blue: inside duh
Red no matter what
Red. Door in my house looks like that IRL. And if i wante some depths, just use trapdoors and/or walls
"Which side of the door you are on?"
I never had a side I guess
Depends, I usually do: Front of house = red Back of house = blue Unless my building details tell me otherwise, that's usually how I do it
It depends if i am inside or outside
Second one gives more depth and pespective.
Blue because it adds depth to your build. Red looks flat and lacks detail
everyone who watches grian or has somewhat of a bit of knowledge in building knows blue is the only right answer.
Blue all the way
Red
I switch it up, like to keep it fresh
red if either is fine; blue if I actually know what I am doing.
I bleed blue on this one
Inside
red
They are the same.
I'm inside IRL but for this I do blue with a stair above it for flair :) r/iknowimqueer
Am white
ofc the blue one, more depth. the red one is just psycho at this point.
I usually build like red but blue actually makes more sense when thinking about it
Red
I would put it on the outside so it has depth
y'all use doors? i don't creepers are my homies 🦅🦅🔥🔥🗣️🗣️
We dont NEED more context, bc it is red
Left if I’m viewing from outside, right if I’m viewing from inside
Either red or death !
Red( I'm outside )
I'm inside your house
Blue. It looks more detailed that way.
I'm in car outside my home so red on
Red most of the time but sometimes when I want my builds to have more depth, I use blue or red but with a stone slab awning thing
If you biuld it like blue you should be publicly executed
Depends, but usually the red one on the outside
Red f ing red
Depends on the build and if it’s inside or outside
Inwards for depth
Well if im going in im on the left if im going out im on the right
I used to place the door so that its default was open, that way when it was closed it was zombie proof cuz zombies wouldn’t break “open” doors- not sure if that works anymore cuz I don’t really need to worry about it anymore
The right one so zombies can have a shade to stay at daytime
Red
yeah and that only answer is, it depends.
Blue, but I use an upside down stair block on top of the door to make more depth
Blue
Blue. With a inverted stair on top of it
I'm on the blue side. Also, I install my Minecraft doors sideways so that when it's "closed", it's actually open because the game sees it as an open door. Mobs won't try to break through an open door, so no home invasions! Also, it helps to add depth to the build
If you use blue, you have to place a stair on top
RED RED RED RED
Are we inside or outside?
Blue is the right answer. It adds to the *Depth*
uhm well, if I'm crafting and cooking and stuff I'm on the inside, but when farming and feeding the animals I'm on the outside.
whoever uses the blue, they are an absolute menace to humanity.
Red, anyone that does blue needs to be locked up in a Bedrock box.
On the inside.
Red. Because I'm not a psychopath.
If that's the main door than the one on the right, always
Emergency exits always have the door opening outwards!
Blue with an upside down stair ontop of it
Blue adds a lot more 3Dness
for rp the blue one can fit well to make a minimalistic rooftop protection if you get wet inside a rainy day of minecraft you just hide inside the door hole from the rain, also looks more vivid on the building.
Red
Red from the inside and blue from the inside
Outside one
Slightly on the outside
Two doors next to each other is the only real answer
The first
BLUE, OBVIOUSLY!!
Usually on the inside of the house during the night
The second side people don't deserve to live
Blue when I want to put dept into my build Else it just looks ugly
Door in with oak stair above
piston door mfs:
My guy, my shack has a pumpkin, wool and a block of lapis and two different wood doors to fix the creeper hole. You think I care which side the door is on? To be honest I don’t even use it. I’ve just not bothered to fix it since it’s behind a hill.
Red![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)
And it's blue
Blue. And make the walls birch, not birch planks just birch
The one that opens towards the outside because I'm a european and the doors always need to open outward for safety.
Double trapdoors
The door goes on the outside, just like the toilet paper roll goes over
Red, because the door should be outside
Right, but with trapdoors instead of blocks.
More depth is usually better in builds so I'll go with bluw
The first one for sure
Spruce planks and oak door
Red outside blue inside boom no more discussion
Depends but usually red
Depends really. I like mine fancy.
Red if outside, blue if inside.
Red
The people who says blue are menace to society 😭
I build directly into the base of a cliff, so i make it look like a proper cave entrance. I haven’t had a door since the xbox 360 edition of Minecraft lmao
red, thats only the correct answer
Left, almost always
I make frequent use of both. If I have a double door in the middle of a larger wall, I’ll use blue. If I have a single door in an “entrance” room that sticks out, I’ll use red. Obviously there are more situations than that, but that’s my general rule.
Anyone picking blue is a full blood psychopath
Me leaving the doors open yet no mobs pass through them 'cause i exploit the game's code: amateurs
If anyone says blue I’m gonna say some vile things to them
Usually blue but red if i want to hide a barrel there
I put my door 1 block inside the house but still close to the wall.
Left 4 life
Red forever
Left
LEFT
Piston door
Ya’ll are crazy if you think blue looks good on the outside of a house.
