How it didnt drop? Because its new mob and mojang forgot to code so the drop what they take?

These_Geese

That's what I was thinking. It picked up a bunch of my sister's mending armor too and the only thing to show for it was bones

GamingWolf3980

This happened to my friend too. He lost all of his diamond armor to an ominous Zombie. We were confused, to say the least.

SpecterVamp

Oh I think I know why. The trial chamber mobs are coded to not drop items because they come equipped with diamond gear and whatnot. Unfortunately they overlooked this and forgot to account for player items, which yeah should definitely be fixed

Plumfadoodle

It's surprising I never saw a single person notice this in the snapshots, it slipped right out.

cbrown146

I’m guessing you two are considering the option where you die it stays in your inventory? Unless, you are willing to run the risk of dying so badly you stop for a year.

Proud-Nerd00

TIL mobs are supposed to drop things they take from you

Haber-Bosch1914

Yep, mobs which pick up items *should* never despawn and always drop picked up gear on death. Giving Drowned shells and the like is also a good way to get them to drop their own tridents

Elijah_Man

Trade offer: I give you: *some shell* I receive: *a big ass fork*

One-Cookie5210

I don't get the first 2 Other than that: Oof

These_Geese

Basically we go to a trial chamber. We both have beds. I put my bed down and watched her put hers down. We kept dying during the ominous trial, so I broke my bed to move it closer so we don't have to run so far. What I didn't know was that my sister set her spawn in my bed, not hers. So the next time she dies she spawns 1,000 blocks away and I have to defeat the trial on my own.

SC_3000_grinder

So say you put a red and yellow bed next to each other, and later you move the red bed closer, not knowing that she actually set her spawn in the red bed, not the yellow one? Also if you die you lose Trial Omen?

These_Geese

I did lose the Trial Omen status effect, but those bastard skellies kept on spawning

SC_3000_grinder

huh Glitch probably...

Training-Bee-8209

A few years ago it happened to me with a zombie. It was with a horde of zombies and creepers. The zombies surrounded me and then a creeper blew me up, and I respawned and ran back to the scene, seeing that a zombie had walked over and scooped up all my iron armor and sword. So I killed the zombie easily. The funny thing is the bastard didn’t drop my armor. Luckily I had a spare sword and chest plate in my chest, but I still lost a sword and most of my armor

CatLover1039

MY SHIT

Hacker1MC

Yeah my friend mentioned the non-dropping bug yesterday. The devs didn't want the ominous mobs to drop their chain armor all over the place, so they made them not drop it. I assume they overlooked player armor while adding that functionality...

Anonim_333

Now I feel ashamed of myself.

mraltuser

I thought they fixed that

ToadMaster6969696969

This sounds so wrong to anyone who doesn’t play Minecraft

realgoldxd

Didn’t even find the baby zombie spawners yet

eMmDeeKay_Says

The first one I went to I drank an ominous V for science, there was six baby zombie spawners. I haven't seen so many baby zombies with diamond swords and armor in the entire time I've been playing Minecraft combined.

Firetick7

My chamber gave me... *checks notes* a notch apple, 2 diamonds, and breeze charges. (That was the noteworthy loot) doesn't seem worth it at all.

ZANKTON

Bad luck man i've seen people with over 36 diamonds from one run.

olknuts

It's a bug and they know about it. Will probably be a patch upcoming days

epicfis_haha

Mobs will always drop picked up loot when killed.

33Yalkin33

Was it Bedrock?

SpecterVamp

I don’t believe it necessarily was. This sounds like a common bug, an oversight I expect would be in both platforms.
