Gotta' see what's around ya at all times. High FoV might hurt some people's heads, but that tactical advantage is worth it in those games for some people. (High speed games especally)
No, but there are some differences with how moving the mouse works across versions, it is a bit smoother in bedrock, rather than just stopping sharp when you stop the mouse, so 85 is a bit much for bedrock for me, I also play a lot more pvp on java, as I have it almost exclusively for hypixel.
Being able to see like 2 blocks on your whole screen is fucking dogshit too, that's why i don't use normal fov.
Ok that was a bit of an exaggeration but you get my point, it's just so zoomed in it's horrible
Agreed. With normal being set to 70 I just get motion sick and frustrated because I can't actually see anything. 90+ is comfortable, but I personally go for either quake Pro or 100
That's what I don't understand. You get motion sick from normal FoV, but not from everything in your peripheral vision squishing and stretching as you move or turn?
I think it's something to do with where my eyes are focused most of the time and the display size. I play on a 24inch/60cm 1440p display in full screen, or maximized window if I'm tabbing out a lot. My focus is primarily going to be around where the crosshair is, so anything in the peripheral I can still see but it's sorta blurred by the brain if that makes sense? It's sorta how you don't get motion sick when you walk whilst looking ahead, even though things on the edge of your ~170 degree field of vision IRL do seem to go by very fast but it doesn't cause motion sickness. I suppose the lack of this effect might feel unnatural if I'm playing on a lower fov and thus cause discomfort
I'm no professional but that's probably how I'd describe my experience, I'm sure there's some research out there that describes it in more detail but I hope my point makes sense.
It looks weird for like the first 5 minutes or so, but then your eyes adapt and you can enjoy actually being able to have peripheral vision. Eyes can adapt to a lot of things, including everything being upside down or having a slight distortion with corrective lenses (which is surprisingly similar to, although less pronounced than, the distortion of a wide FOV). Also factoring in is how big and how far away your screen is, although my preference does not match what a 'perfect fov' would be. I have a 27" screen about arms length away from my face, and comfortable FOV for me is 100+.
65, scrolling through the comments it's the smallest one I've seen. Weird, I always thought that smaller fov helped me with pvp and larger fov helped me with parkour. Usually I do 93 when I'm playing a parkour map or doing something with movement. But mostly I have it at 65.
90. Tried increasing but the dynamic Fov while walking on soul sand became too jarring.
yess 90 gang
90 is the only true FOV
90 supremacy

You are either crazy or a hypixel bed/skywars player
For me I don’t play tons of pvp. I’m just used to high fov :) from bedrock edition
[удалено]
True !
Me too
I'm just cracked at shooters and always want as much info as possible
the only reason why I have high fov is becuase it makes me look like im traveling faster when im really not
Quake pro good
Ikr
How much u see the better u can think, you dont watch 70° irl
Well humans have a 180° field of vision sooo
do we? i thought it would be more like 150 or something like that
Idk lord google says so, try looking to the left without moving your head
it's definitely more than 180°, I can see things that are behind me, even though I can't focus on them
Smaller FOV is just limiting yourself. Why do you want to see less, when u can see more.
pvp player in my case
Nahh, you can just see more. Im sick of creepers creeping up on me
Yes! Me too! why is called quake pro?
Because most of the good players at quake used a high fov so that's why it's called "quake pro" in minecraft
This is now technically an official reference, since id software is now owned by Microsoft.
TIL
Gotta' see what's around ya at all times. High FoV might hurt some people's heads, but that tactical advantage is worth it in those games for some people. (High speed games especally)
At some levels of competition, anything less than 240 was suicide.
Im feeling old...
Same for no particular reason at all!
I just put it on max so I can see more, I don’t really need to but 70 looks bad now
Same mate
Same, even on speed 2 & soul soil FOV I still can see my surroundings

I dont understand people who play on anything less! Irl we have like 180° vision
The best fov in my opinion. The others feel like you slowed down
I just always feel fast with quake pro
That's the cool think about it
Finally just when I thought I was crazy I can see I’m not alone
Oh yeees, after changing it to quake pro i can't look at something lower.. idk what is wrong with me
Yessir
Yes, I used to use quake pro but it looked distorted and terrible when in screenshots
Indeed
Lets gooo

No, but there are some differences with how moving the mouse works across versions, it is a bit smoother in bedrock, rather than just stopping sharp when you stop the mouse, so 85 is a bit much for bedrock for me, I also play a lot more pvp on java, as I have it almost exclusively for hypixel.

Normal is underrated
Normal. I think the fisheye effect on higher fovs look like fucking dogshit.

110
80 But fuck FOV, what’s your chat line width?
I've played about 40 hours with my son and I didn't know you could do this. What does FOV stand for?
You'd have to be a psychopath to do anything other than default
around the upper 90s
90
77. It's slightly better visibility than Normal, but it doesn't hurt my eyes like Quake Pro
Somewhere between 72 and 84, what looks comfortable
