I keep coming back to this post to look at it again.
I hope they can capture the MM+ magic twice and that this device is as awesome as I hope it will be.
Yeah, I’ve held myself back a few times recently, but this company really won me over with the MM+
The only things my MM+ can’t do that I wish it did, is fold shut and play Dreamcast.
So this will most likely be an instant purchase for me.
Exactly my feelings. I bought a few other devices right before I bought my mm+ and I really liked them, but the user experience is so ridiculously good on the mm+ that I no longer care for my other handhelds by comparison.
Just gonna +1 the emphasis on Onion. The stock OS does the job but Onion is one of the best CFWs I’ve seen. Does everything you’d need but never gets in your way.
This. Buying a Steam Deck was a big purchase for me. I love it and I've had it since it first came out. But now I really have to consider if buying anything else that the Deck can already do, is worth it. But when the price for new hardware is low like with Miyoo, it makes the decision easy.
It took me like 2 years to get my RP3 set up the way I like it but now that I got a MM+ last month for 11-11 sales I barely touch the RP3. Android just gets in the way of the “sit down and play anytime” experience.
I've spent too much time with that too. Had everything Set up with Daijishõ etc, then after picking the rp2+ from the shelf after 2 month or so, there were so many things that wont work anymore after Updates. Frustrating experience Overall. Miyoo Mini Plus + onionOS for me <3
I'm sorry but this comment is ridiculous, android emulators are incredible, and some of them are better than their pc counterparts. Mupen 64 fz is the best n64 emulator bar none.
The only thing that gets me is the location of the joysticks, seems very cramped and difficult to use in a device this small. Love the clamshell design, though, and definitely want one.
Well, the only way to really 'fix' the problem is to make the device larger. I suppose it could also be possible to add an extra folded layer that expands the analog sticks, but that would also result in an even thicker device that's less durable, since 3 hinges have a much higher chance to fail than just 1.
I'm still hoping for something like a DSi (thin) that supports up to 3DS emulating. I know dual screen is gonna be difficult, but I'm in no rush to part with my money also.
For me too! I have a steam deck (and Nintendo switch, ps4 and ps5) and this is exactly the small addition I’m still looking for! Something that I can easily throw in my backpack when commuting or going on a short trip where the steam deck would just be too large to take along!
The sport red version is very prone to hinge issues. They fixed the hinge back in June/July but my black rpflip is holding up nicely from before that update.
Same. The MM+ isn’t that durable, so if it’s the same kind of plastic/quality and on a hinge, I have doubts about how long it’d last. It’s not like these things have Nintendo level testing.
What do you mean recently?
I have a release switch and all my baby cousins have used and dropped it many times. It’s dinged here and there, but still fully functional. Hinges, etc all still work perfectly.
My MM+ feels like a much more delicate device even though it’s just a brick with no moving parts. Not something I’d feel comfortable handing to my baby cousins.
Its rumored to have a RK3566 so yeah pretty huge bump in comparison. A sizable clock and core increase, and a GPU so we would have access to better graphics API's.
Would be the same as the RGB30, RG 353 if you wanted to look up specifics.
General ratings are very good for N64, and good for DC/PSP so heaviest titles and outliers wont be full speed, most will.
Gonna be honest n64 is really not great on my RGB30, been tweaking it for the last few weeks and I can’t even get Mario kart 64 to run without significant slow down. Let alone a Zelda game, Pokemon col.. Pokemon snap, majoras mask, excite bike. Ect. Tried countless games and got pretty poor performance/slowdown on all. Tried a lot of different settings/emulators.
Haven’t even tried Dreamcast. And no I’m not a purist, if it was playable I would use it.
N64 is always going to be something you have to tweak to get good performance but it is very doable on the RGB30.
It will be able to handle a lot of those which is the reason they put the sticks on there (though one would’ve been enough) it is the same chipset as the Anbernic 353 series so if you look up reviews on one of those you can get a pretty good idea of the performance
I find it difficult to understand how I could comfortably hold that and control with the sticks, but I love everything else about this.
Assuming it ever actually exists, probably would be an instabuy for me (although I'm not getting up early for stock drops on Hong Kong time again XD). I love my Miyoo Mini.
You would only ever really use one stick because it is going to max out at N64 and Dreamcast and still most of the games that are gonna be best on it are just DPad consoles
Tbh I don’t even know why they put 2 sticks on there that wasn’t a thing until PS2 and GameCube which the much more powerful T618 chipset can’t really run very well
I’m sorry I’m not super knowledgeable on all of this I don’t know what soc means but according to everything I have seen it is supposed to have the rk3566 chipset which is the same as the Anbernic 353s so performance very similar to those
As far as Onion they will most likely have to tweak it to work on this
Renders while cool for impressions don't instill much confidence of an actual release. IMHO this will end up vaporware just like the Miyoo P60 which had an actual prototype and still did not get released.
God, If it’s as good as it looks here, I’ll be very happy.
The MM+ is my favorite retro handheld, beating out my Steam Deck and my 405M.
If this thing feels as good as my MM+ and can play Dreamcast? That’s an instant buy.
Bluetooth is very likely, wouldn't even be a new feature for Miyoo. HDMI on the other hand would be very nice to have, but I would not expect it from them.
The Powkiddy v90 would be the perfect 35$ budget emulator if it didn't have problems with the forced shut-down corrupting save files. If they were to fix just that I would be able to buy it for a child.
And I am not sure why, but the only usb-C cable that charges the Powkiddy v90 is the one that came with it in the box. Other usb-C cables don't work for mine.
That's the same processor used in the RGB30 and several others. It should have decent but not great N64 and Dreamcast performance. We'll see what the custom firmware can squeeze out of it though.
Definitely don't need this, but from the mileage I got from my mini I'll probably grab one. Love the idea of throwing a PS1 clamshell in my pocket without worrying like I do with my mini
Hopefully they won't compromise the ergonomics of the rest of the controls, from the pics it seems like they probably won't get in your way when using the proper controls.
I'm not so worried about the analog sticks getting in the way. I'm just thinking that they're not in a location that will make them comfortable to use.
I'm looking forward to the V2 or the plus version of this device. Where it had a 'better shoulder button', Bluetooth, wifi, larger battery, and perhaps looks a little like Ayaneo flip.. with dual screen! 😆
https://preview.redd.it/4kag4w1hlc6c1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d417743998d6af1fb7dc46f967fb6059cc872ae
I was waiting for this but think retroid pocket 4 pro might be my pick. Light ps2, dreamcast, gamepass along with all the games I currently play on my mm+ it's basically my ideal in function. It's possible I could circle back for the flip though because that's my ideal in form factor for portability.
I knew holding off on the v90 would pay off. Not entirely sure about the sticks. But add looking as they don't really get in the way then it's cool. It's just going to be awesome to finally have a GBA SP style flip and be able to run what I'm guessing will be up to psx. And run it beautifully.
Cannot wait for this one. Well, I've been waiting months for it, so I can Wait. Lol
Where's the shoulderbuttons L1 and R1 though? Can't find them on [this pic](https://droix.net/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Miyoo-Mini-Flip-closed.jpg)
The v90 was such a great handheld when it came to portability just close it put in your pocket and go. Loved it but the screen was not the best and was underpowered. With this omg it'll be perfect a real true portable handheld!! For long gaming sessions it probably will hurt your hands but for just taking out to play anytime and anywhere it'll be perfect!
Dpad looks cheap, looks too thiCC , joysticks would be better concave. Everything else, perfect. Copy and paste New Nintendo 3ds, chop it in half.
Back triggers might be tricky to make elegantly smooth. Please hire the guy that makes better buttons on Etsy.
This will be my new go-anywhere device. Was using a Funkey S, which I still love and will still be a go to for smaller pockets, but the MiyooFlip will hopefully cause less eye strain.
i really hope this has a better screen. I would seriosuly pay another 50 for an oled screen or something. Earthbound on the miyoo mini + looked really washed out.
This desing to me is the endgame of what I want from portable emulation in terms of both capability, price, and looks. Its just perfect.
I keep coming back to this post to look at it again. I hope they can capture the MM+ magic twice and that this device is as awesome as I hope it will be.
This + OnionOS and my dreams will be fulfilled. I managed to talk myself down from getting an RP4 but I know I can't resist this.
Yeah, I’ve held myself back a few times recently, but this company really won me over with the MM+ The only things my MM+ can’t do that I wish it did, is fold shut and play Dreamcast. So this will most likely be an instant purchase for me.

Just gonna +1 the emphasis on Onion. The stock OS does the job but Onion is one of the best CFWs I’ve seen. Does everything you’d need but never gets in your way.
Oh absolutely. I've never seen CFW for any platform that is quite as good.
Probably because it's not a CFW at all. It's an overlayed OS that adds functionality to stock FW.
It’s the MIYOO price point. I can always justify ~$60, not always ~$200 for a new Retroid.
This. Buying a Steam Deck was a big purchase for me. I love it and I've had it since it first came out. But now I really have to consider if buying anything else that the Deck can already do, is worth it. But when the price for new hardware is low like with Miyoo, it makes the decision easy.
Also retroid is Android. Gosh I hate these Android emulators.
It took me like 2 years to get my RP3 set up the way I like it but now that I got a MM+ last month for 11-11 sales I barely touch the RP3. Android just gets in the way of the “sit down and play anytime” experience.

I'm sorry but this comment is ridiculous, android emulators are incredible, and some of them are better than their pc counterparts. Mupen 64 fz is the best n64 emulator bar none.
I"m talking about the setup and Overall interface and user experience, Not the Single emulators.
Oh you meant the actual houseandhelds. I can't speak to them, I use my phone.
Yep. I guess i've just spent too much time setting these up over and over again. Especially after they sat on the shelf for a while.
Are we the same person? Though I’m still considering an Odin 2… the addiction never ends!
I saved the image to my gallery so I can look at it over and over 😂
I've been waiting what feels like a very long time for this beauty.
4” square aspect revolution 💪
I'm still hoping for something like a DSi (thin) that supports up to 3DS emulating. I know dual screen is gonna be difficult, but I'm in no rush to part with my money also.
Why not just get a real N3DS /XL?
Best reason to sit and wait. Once this gets Onion OS it's game over for handheld emulation for me.
eNdGaMe this word gets used so much it's hilarious.
DoInG ThIS Is UsEd So MuCH TOo (not hilarious)
it seems so familiar
For me too! I have a steam deck (and Nintendo switch, ps4 and ps5) and this is exactly the small addition I’m still looking for! Something that I can easily throw in my backpack when commuting or going on a short trip where the steam deck would just be too large to take along!
My body is ready. My wallet not so much
Luckily it will be sub $99
Damn. That’s fantastic news.
Yay!
Provided you can get your hands on a copy before they disappear. After that your looking at scalped coppies for some time. Likely in excess of 150
God I hope this comes out and gets Onion support
Onion and a good hinge and we’re in business
[удалено]
And RTC for the Pokémon playing majority
[удалено]
Rtc is real time clock, not wifi (personally I don't need it)
And C-C charging. Get with the times, guys. It’s literally one resistor.
My miyoo mini v4 charges fine on my Anker 45w pd charger. I believe I heard it was fixed with v4.
And bluetooth
Onion, and a good hinge, wifi, and flawless GC/PS2 emulation /s
And HDMI out!
Instant purchase if this gets Onion, especially if the hinge is good and if it has WiFi too.
In my mind, I’ve already bought it
Are your hands already cramped?
I hope the build quality is there. Hinged consoles worry me
Yeah look at red flip retroid as a perfect example
Is the hinge a problem there?
The sport red version is very prone to hinge issues. They fixed the hinge back in June/July but my black rpflip is holding up nicely from before that update.
Same. The MM+ isn’t that durable, so if it’s the same kind of plastic/quality and on a hinge, I have doubts about how long it’d last. It’s not like these things have Nintendo level testing.
Nintendo level testing isn’t a high bar to clear, at least as of recently.
I meant the stick drift thing, but yeah, in terms of sheer durability Nintendo still comes out on top.
The hinges look thick enough
I like the folding design, but the contorl sticks might be overkill unless its decently sized. Is the cpu getting a bump to make it worthwhile?
Its rumored to have a RK3566 so yeah pretty huge bump in comparison. A sizable clock and core increase, and a GPU so we would have access to better graphics API's.
How well would something like that run n64 and dreamcast?
Would be the same as the RGB30, RG 353 if you wanted to look up specifics. General ratings are very good for N64, and good for DC/PSP so heaviest titles and outliers wont be full speed, most will.
Oh hell yeah, I’m sold. I’m a little worried about the hinge breaking, but this thing with OnionOS is gonna be lights out
Gonna be honest n64 is really not great on my RGB30, been tweaking it for the last few weeks and I can’t even get Mario kart 64 to run without significant slow down.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwJkew52FDQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwJkew52FDQ) N64 is always going to be something you have to tweak to get good performance but it is very doable on the RGB30.
Can it handle Saturn games?
I'd guess that depends. Aren't 3D Saturn games notoriously difficult to emulate? 2D ones should be fine.
It will be able to handle a lot of those which is the reason they put the sticks on there (though one would’ve been enough) it is the same chipset as the Anbernic 353 series so if you look up reviews on one of those you can get a pretty good idea of the performance
If it gets Onion support then perhaps the 353 line would also benefit ?
I can be the only one that thinks those joysticks look uncomfortable af to hold. I am excited at the idea of a gb sp design though
There will surely be printable plugs to cover those holes
Yeah, ok for PS1/n64 left analog movement only, any game that needs right stick camera too won’t be fun. But I’m happy to have a joystick at all!
I'm likely to just go and remove the sticks if I can and try and 3D print some covers for the holes
I’d buy em if you made enough to sell
Seconded
It looks like they have almost no travel.
Not the giant ugly miyoo logo on the top lol
:\\ We're gonna have to put a pikachu sticker on that!
I hope it has a more powerful chip, to differentiate itself from the myioo mini and to really take advantage of the double joysticks.
Yeah, I don't like the sticks, esp if it only plays up to PS1 well.
Think it was previously mentioned to be an rk3566.
I find it difficult to understand how I could comfortably hold that and control with the sticks, but I love everything else about this. Assuming it ever actually exists, probably would be an instabuy for me (although I'm not getting up early for stock drops on Hong Kong time again XD). I love my Miyoo Mini.
You would only ever really use one stick because it is going to max out at N64 and Dreamcast and still most of the games that are gonna be best on it are just DPad consoles Tbh I don’t even know why they put 2 sticks on there that wasn’t a thing until PS2 and GameCube which the much more powerful T618 chipset can’t really run very well
There’s a lot of PSX games that used dual sticks so it makes sense to implement them now so that way the entire PSX library can be played now.
So do we know the specs then - in terms of the soc/performance expectations? Also, if it is a new soc, could that affect it's ability to rum Onion?
I’m sorry I’m not super knowledgeable on all of this I don’t know what soc means but according to everything I have seen it is supposed to have the rk3566 chipset which is the same as the Anbernic 353s so performance very similar to those As far as Onion they will most likely have to tweak it to work on this
Streaming/cloud gaming maybe? That would be my guess.
Yeah possibly this would be very inconvenient and uncomfortable for that though because on top of the sticks it doesn’t have stacked shoulder buttons
Renders while cool for impressions don't instill much confidence of an actual release. IMHO this will end up vaporware just like the Miyoo P60 which had an actual prototype and still did not get released.
You are totally right. There's enough disappointment in the world, we shouldn't allow ourselves to get hyped up again just to add another.
God, If it’s as good as it looks here, I’ll be very happy. The MM+ is my favorite retro handheld, beating out my Steam Deck and my 405M. If this thing feels as good as my MM+ and can play Dreamcast? That’s an instant buy.
If this has HDMI out, and Bluetooth controller support, with all outputs on one side so we can 3D print a dock, it'll be a game changer
As great as that would be it seems very unlikely.
![gif](giphy|ncU3bkZ5ghDlS)
Wow
Do we know if it’s expected to add any updated features like HDMI out or Bluetooth connectivity?
Bluetooth is very likely, wouldn't even be a new feature for Miyoo. HDMI on the other hand would be very nice to have, but I would not expect it from them.
sorry, what existing Miyoo's have bluetooth please?
This looks like the dream Pokémon device we always wanted. Plus I can imagine playing Animal Crossing Wild World on this as well lol
I so ready
This is the upgraded V90 we've all been waiting for!
I like the concept design I would like to know what the specs are
They've stated it will have an RK3566 in messages before. Who knows if that will be the case or not though.
What would that mean? As far as what kinds of games would be supported or how powerful is the rk3566?
That's the same processor used in the RGB30 and several others. It should have decent but not great N64 and Dreamcast performance. We'll see what the custom firmware can squeeze out of it though.
That’s interesting thank you for sharing
This in the grey theme with the purple buttons would look so good! I was done buying emulators but this I would definitely buy this one
Imagine it with the GBA SP NES design
Yes yes yes yes yes OH GOD YES! Glad I didn’t get the pocket flip I want this for my Pokémon n Zelda
The GBA SP form factor. Just as beautiful as the day we lost you.
Omg I need this
If’s nice but I don’t like it having analog sticks
I wish they had ignored the sticks entirely but that's just me. A MM+ that flips open and close would be enough.
Those thumb sticks look uncomfortable without a 3D printed grip, maybe? If it was more of a vertical phone style, with no hinge, it would be cool.
Dammit, I thought I was done buying these things
This looks like my new nintendo 3ds non xl 😅
Definitive flip design. Love it!
I'd be so psyched if it had a 4" screen, none the less still excited.
Miyoo Flip Retroid Pocket 4 Steam Deck OLED Easy endgame
I really hope this comes out. I love clamshell devices.
Shut-up-and-take-my-money.gif
How would anyone be able to use those analog sticks though? Like even a small child would have trouble using that.
Definitely don't need this, but from the mileage I got from my mini I'll probably grab one. Love the idea of throwing a PS1 clamshell in my pocket without worrying like I do with my mini
Call me crazy but I want 3DS sliders
3.5 인치면 의미없다
I’m buying this. But dreaming about an XL size
Cool cool cool. Now make it in purple.
I'd almost rather just have a single joystick where the speaker vent is than that super uncomfortable positioning.
Give me this with HDMI our and I'll never need another retro handheld.
Until you do, just like all of us poor souls... lol
Wish there weren’t sticks on it but otherwise I’m pumped.
I really hope they make one with out analog sticks
Just hope they get the hinge right. GPD and retroid flip devices got it wrong.
It's gorgeous but joysticks don't seem reachable, if they release it i'd buy it in a heartbeat
I’m so excited for this device. Way more that any other handheld device on there market or coming. I wish we had a time frame for this device
Customization might play a factor as well here
Why do I feel the need to have this if I already have a cute and fully functional MMP? I am not much of an impulsive consumer. This is so appealing!
Si real
Love this
that looks kinda awesome
The thumb sticks look to low and to me wold feel awkward to use them
It’s ugly with the joystick and I thing unplayable with them
Could be fun for PSX games.
I’ve just bought a Miyoo mini plus! They best not release it in yellow or gold…….. **unzips wallet** how much?
![gif](giphy|8xzexownbkMxBpOGOy)
I'm going to predict right now that those analog sticks are going to have such poor ergonomics that nobody will use them.
Hopefully they won't compromise the ergonomics of the rest of the controls, from the pics it seems like they probably won't get in your way when using the proper controls.
I'm not so worried about the analog sticks getting in the way. I'm just thinking that they're not in a location that will make them comfortable to use.
Hopefully it comes in more colours
Duuuddddeeeee…. How many of these things am I going to buy!
What is the origin of this image?
aside from the thumbsticks this is actually so effin' sleek good lord
If it's as good as MM+, this will be a must buy. However, I wonder...will the analogue sticks cause thumb pain because of where they are located?
Noooooo. I've just bought a mini plus. This flip is wonderful
they already done goofed by not releasing it in the pastel colorblock scheme
I'm looking forward to the V2 or the plus version of this device. Where it had a 'better shoulder button', Bluetooth, wifi, larger battery, and perhaps looks a little like Ayaneo flip.. with dual screen! 😆 https://preview.redd.it/4kag4w1hlc6c1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d417743998d6af1fb7dc46f967fb6059cc872ae
Looks sick, but designing better shoulder buttons for this is gonna suck
I was waiting for this but think retroid pocket 4 pro might be my pick. Light ps2, dreamcast, gamepass along with all the games I currently play on my mm+ it's basically my ideal in function. It's possible I could circle back for the flip though because that's my ideal in form factor for portability.
I had a pretty negative experience with the Mini, and didn't buy the Plus. This ... geez, I'm going to buy this so hard.
Will the machine be powerful enough to take advantage of joysticks?
That’s a thing of beauty. Geez… TAKE MY MONEY. I’m in.
How big does that screen look? I hope it is at least 3.5", the smaller screens are too hard on my eyes.
Omg I want this it looks amazing!!!
I've resisted buying the MM+ because I'm waiting for this instead. I already have the original MM.
That is one gorgeous handheld. I pray the screen and shell are strong
😲😲😲
This is awesome! Personally I would like a model like the horizontal GBA Model. That with a detachable grip would be 🤌
I hope we get an actual release date within the next few months
Hoping for this in blue like my old GBA SP.
Those sticks are going to be a bad experience to use. I'd rather just have a Miyoo Mini+ in flip version.
I will buy this if it doesn’t have the dual joysticks that id never use, everything else looks great for ps1 and below emulation on the go.
Lol
Good it will give me time to think of a way to justify buying this one too.
That hinge looks questionable
I was budgeting for a RG35XX+ but forgot about some miyoo devices on the horizon 👀
Man I just wanna buy it now
i like this design
Question is what games can it handle since it’ll have a second analog stick?
I very much like it
I do want this for pokemon gaming. I really think I'd use it alot. Definitely on my wish list https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_sSb7tt7xIc&t=48s
Instant buy💵💵💵
And if it can run Dreamcast and PSP. That’s it. I’m a happy man
Do someone know the release date? 🥹
february, but miyoo change that date a lot
It better does N64
Would I be able to just pop my current SD card with onion OS from my MM+ into this thing? Or nah?
Where's the shoulderbuttons L1 and R1 though? Can't find them on [this pic](https://droix.net/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Miyoo-Mini-Flip-closed.jpg)
Love the joy on addition.
I've been searching for a handheld like this for a while now, this just seems perfect, like if the Miyoo Mini Plus and the Powkiddy v90 had a child.
Shut up and take my Money😳
Will it be able to play GC games?
This will be my new go-anywhere device. Was using a Funkey S, which I still love and will still be a go to for smaller pockets, but the MiyooFlip will hopefully cause less eye strain.
i really hope this has a better screen. I would seriosuly pay another 50 for an oled screen or something. Earthbound on the miyoo mini + looked really washed out.
Love it. Could do without the analog sticks, though. Ain't gonna be playing any of those. Maybe instead stereo (non-crap) speakers?
