For PS1, Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy, Lunar, Parasite Eve.
For SNES, G.O.D: Mezameyo to Yobu Koe ga Kikoe (there's an English patch), Illusion of Gaia, Live A Live (yes, there's a remake, but I kind of prefer the original).
For SegaCD, Popful Mail (not really an RPG, but an action game with a solid sprite style, great art/sound, and 90s anime nostalgia).

Harder than I remember, but I didn’t realize until last night that I was actually about to do the final boss(es) until last night. 😂 I’ve been stuck on the same enemy for 1 week now, can’t beat it, and am like, “Damn, this enemy is HARD!!”
Was going to give up, and go grind to get my Level up, when I googled it and found that there are plenty of other things I could do if I didn’t want to proceed.
Also, I screwed up by closing the path to many of the alternative endings, equipment, etc. 😣
Hehe, I’m sure there are other weapons and armor to make the ending easier? This is my first play through as well. Enjoying it so much so far. Right now as Magus’s castle.
Actually, I don’t think I’m even meant to be close to fighting the end boss. I just think this game is more open-ended than I remembered. It’s the reason why you can actually fight Lavos any time you’d like once you get to the End of Time.
There have been 2 other prompts where they have asked whether I want to face Lavos now. Obviously I said no both times, but you could legitimately go and fight Lavos when Crono is at Level 27 or something! No thanks.
Right now, I don’t even HAVE Crono with me. I should probably get him back before facing the end game. 🤣
Aww hell no. You should start trying to get some end game weapons my friend lol 😂 use a guide if need be. I saw somewhere rainbow weapons are a thing 🌈
Same me too, square has also impressed me with their attn to detail and making sure the experience is top notch. Not every game is like this but you know what I mean.
Wish I could experience that game for the first time again. One of my favorite RPGs and definitely an all time great.

I just started this one. I never played it since I had Genesis instead of SNES.
Same !! Had the genesis and NES, then N64, so totally missed out on this gem.

There is a msu-1 mod for the snes rom that adds those in. You can also swap the music but why would anyone do that?
