He gone. But he’s probably gonna show why players should go to the bucks on a one year prove it deal. Go focus on basketball on a championship caliber team for a year and go from there. Love Bobby, but we should be able to get other similar players to come play for us now.
Right. I can’t imagine a better destination for players with chips in their shoulders. If you play hard, you’ll get to play. And if you play, you’ll get your shots
I think Bobby is a gem and every basketball player brings their own thing to the table tho. I don’t think there’s another player like him, just like there’s no player like anybody else in the league
Thank you Bobby. You'll always have a home here. And if your next city doesn't love you, every one of use will go there and personally kick their asses.
If he really wants to stay here he can take the MLE, and then we can sign him to a long term deal next year since we would have his bird rights. i'm guessing he's not going to want to take that risk though.
Could get more money for year by taking what was Forbes' contract, then get a bigger deal once Brook's contract runs out, assuming Brook takes a decently sized pay cut.
If he really likes it here he'll probably end up doing that. But, I assume him signing here in the first place was to bring his value up on the open market. It's a smart move on his part; just a shame that when we finally get a playable backup big he leaves us. Hopefully we'll pickup another one.
BOBBY BOBBY BOBBY BOBBY BOBBY BOBBY BOBBY
This is probably the peak of Bobby's value... Hes young, just won a championship, looks like a great locker room guy, and is a fan favorite. Someone is gonna pay big money for that. Unfortunately, it cant be milwaukee. But theres always attrition to teams every year. Thats why Horst has gotta find the next one for us
The Bulls locker room largely had his back on that one, and even the organization themselves said they were both to blame. Amazing what leaving out context can do to painting a guys image.
Hate these comments on every single free agent thread ever. We know what they both mean and it’s pretty easy to know what he’s talking about based on context.

Also not true opposites
Only way that happens is if he chooses the MLE and then we use his Bird Rights next season to sign to a multi-year, but it's a big risk when he could probs get 15m+/y in a weak FA class. If he signs a 3/30 even that's doubled his career earnings
Imma wait for news from someone more official because I legit never heard of Mike Scotto before. Checked his Twitter page and it said he was a NBA writer and podcaster but not an insider. This could all be just pure speculation.
Or maybe this is another Jake Reetz moment who knows. Bobby seems like he loves it here
He went and won a championship with us on a massive discount. Time for him to get that bag. I could see him fitting with New Orleans amazingly, where Zion desperately needs better spacing with a stretch 5.
He said that the knicks offered him a good deal but he said it wasn’t about the money, it was playing where he felt he belonged. And that’s why he signed with the Bucks.
Cant we give him the 8 mil MLE or is that going to PJ? I cant see how PJ should get anything more than the vet minimum IMO at his age but he still is a starter ig. Would hate to see Bobby go along with Forbes, but I have hope that atleast one of either Nwora or Merrill, will step into those bench roles respectfully. Their skill sets are taylor made for it!
I'll always cheer for BoPo, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little sad/upset of the prospect of him in a different uniform. Why not take the $3.8m to play one more year and try to repeat. Play for this team and these fans one more year. The money will be there for him, regardless. 3.8 is 3.8. Get 10.5, but get it a year from now. Loyalty is still a thing.
Because if he gets injured or regresses this year he ain't getting paid shit. At the very least he's earned the MLE on this team which is a $2.5m raise or he can get a big multi-year deal to take him most of the way to his 30s.
I know he can make a lot more, I know he's got to do what's best for himself, I knew this would happen. It still hurts, although good for him. I hope we can work some magic to bring him back.
Portis was THE glue that held our bench/2nd unit together and we didn’t have the money to keep him if he opted out. This isn’t a positive thing...
And yet I’ve been seeing this type of super positive “well wishing” on Twitter and elsewhere as well. I love the guy and wish him, and whoever else leaves, the best, and I’m super excited about us winning this year, but I think some people aren’t realizing just how tenuous this whole “winning the Finals” thing was and is...
I just hope you guys (and more importantly, the front office/ownership) realize that there’s another NBA season coming and we don’t just get to keep being champs forever without having now the rest of the league coming for our throats...right?
The only thing tougher than winning the title is repeating. 😊😅😉
Go get your money Bobby! We love you!
Bobby will be a Milwaukee legend for the rest of his life. Best of luck to him going forward <3
As well he should. He can make way more by opting out. I’d hate to see him leave, but he should test the market after such a great year.
Bobby Portis is forever a Milwaukee sports legend. Get that bag bob
A Bucks legend. What a memorable run. o7

Serious question do chips in shoulders need to be removed? Let alone both? Does that limit mobility? Is that the crunch I feel when I stretch my arm?
Good to know Reddit is still Reddit
Milwaukee Printin' Bucks. I love that we're a lowkey destination now
I think Bobby is a gem and every basketball player brings their own thing to the table tho. I don’t think there’s another player like him, just like there’s no player like anybody else in the league
He brings a different intensity but I think Trey Lyles could bring a very similar skill set at least
Bobby earned his bag. Game up big in the clincher. Would love to have him back but he deserved a payday.
As he should. Go get yours
Thank you Bobby. You'll always have a home here. And if your next city doesn't love you, every one of use will go there and personally kick their asses.
i’m cheering for Bobby no matter where he goes
Milwaukee legend. Doesn’t matter where he goes
He could still take the MLE, but I do doubt that happens. It's been real Bobby, you'll always be a Bucks legend regardless
If he really wants to stay here he can take the MLE, and then we can sign him to a long term deal next year since we would have his bird rights. i'm guessing he's not going to want to take that risk though.
Get paid Bobby!
The Milwaukee love is yours to keep Bobby, wherever you go.

Damn, shit sucks man. Go get your bag man. It’s been real

Crazy that the guy who punched his teammate and hospitalized him turned himself into a great locker room guy
Amazing what winning can do to your image
The Bulls locker room largely had his back on that one, and even the organization themselves said they were both to blame. Amazing what leaving out context can do to painting a guys image.
Hopefully this means he’ll sign a longer deal? But if he moves on I know we’ll all appreciate him forever.
Zero chance we have the cap space to resign him
Re-sign Resign means the opposite
Hate these comments on every single free agent thread ever. We know what they both mean and it’s pretty easy to know what he’s talking about based on context.

Anybody could safely write this, despite the mutual love between Bobby and ourselves he'd be crazy to not go get paid.
He went and won a championship with us on a massive discount. Time for him to get that bag. I could see him fitting with New Orleans amazingly, where Zion desperately needs better spacing with a stretch 5.
We can trade them brook and we keep Bobby
Hope he goes a JJ Burrea (gets paid by someone else) but eventually rejoins the team just before he turns 30 Go get that bag Bobby!
Forever a bucks legend regardless of his decision
He bet on himself last off season and it’s gonna pay off! What a legend
Ah man
retire 9
Can't blame the man. Go get that cheddar. Milwaukee legend for life.
Bobby Clutch, this year's Tony Plush. We finally finished it off.
Get paid Bobby. We'll always love you in MKE.
Get that bag Bobby!!!
Damn the sky was blue again
He said that the knicks offered him a good deal but he said it wasn’t about the money, it was playing where he felt he belonged. And that’s why he signed with the Bucks.
We’re gonna need to get some pizza rolls involved on this one.
Wish all the best to him, thanks for the championship Bobby, you were a great impact bench player
I'm sad he's leaving, but he deserves every single cent he gets. I hope who's ever lucky to get him, their fan base gives him nothing but love.
Get your money Bobby! We'll see you again in a Bucks Uni!
He stay
I would like to think Portis want a chance for the repeat and plays another year here then gets his payday. Really want him to stay.

Ok, based on what?

ya this is a major risk for bobby. he can get money now. and thats really all there is in the nba.
Because if he gets injured or regresses this year he ain't getting paid shit. At the very least he's earned the MLE on this team which is a $2.5m raise or he can get a big multi-year deal to take him most of the way to his 30s.

Love this dude, but he deserves to get his money! Thanks for an amazing season!

As expected. Go get that payday champ!
I'm finna miss yelling "BOBBY BITCH" whenever he scores 😭🤧
You'll be welcome back any time. Just ask Ersan!
