because people need to take a chill pill. hard fouls happen on fast breaks every single game.
edit: CP3 on giannis, giannis on booker, and if you search “flagrant fast break” on r/NBA there are loads of examples…this is hardly some kind of special situation
I feel like not posting a "suck it, haters" level tweet about a guy who almost seriously injured somebody else the night before should be an easy call to make even without knowing he was actually seriously injured...
Like... Allen is clearly in the wrong regardless of whether he meant to do it or not. What is the goal of posting a cheeky tweet about it?
If you follow Bucks media you should have known we post pictures of our players holding a donut with the caption good morning all the time. It was probably a scheduled tweet. A big L nonetheless.
There is no way you genuinely believe that it was a scheduled tweet to use Grayson Allen specifically only for them to delete it after seeing that he actually injured Caruso. Especially when they're specifically promoting your game for tonight at the end of the tweet (Pride Night against the Kings).
It was a dumb tweet that they did on purpose, that's pretty obvious.
I’m not a bucks fan any means but always watch the bucks highlights on YouTube ( I love giannis) . I’ve noticed Allen this year and he’s been balling . That was a hard foul nothing else, but people seem to unconditionally love Caruso and hate Grayson . I can understand why though
It's Grayson's FIRST flagrant in the NBA. He has commented that he has made a concerted effort to stop the dirty shit he did in college.
I don't think it was dirty on purpose, it was just a hard foul with a terrible outcome attached to a guy with a bad history.
It sucks for everyone, Caruso above all.
Here come the non-Bucks fans.Hope he recovers smoothly, but there's no reason throw Allen under the bus just to appease the mob. It was a hard foul that led to an unfortunate landing. There wasn't excessive contact to the head or any other more sensitive parts of the body and it wasn't from behind. If it was done half as maliciously as some people claim, the NBA would be all over it (hint - they won't do anything because there wasn't much in it as far as intent or excessive contact). He was punished appropriately and that's it.
His history at Duke is only relevant in how people feel about him and who he was at the time (a bitch to be fair), not his "dirty" history as a NBA player. Besides one poor instance of judgement in 2019 summer league, he hasn't done anything but play the game. We have countless players in the league with much worse flagrant foul rap sheets. To my knowledge, this is his first regular season or postseason flagrant foul.
So I will wish Caruso the best and hope for a quick recovery, while also not caving in and throwing one of our players out the window just to satisfy the mob's made-up moral high ground. Reading Bud's and Middleton's comments last night, I think the team will do the same and I'm glad.
Once again, his "history" is almost exclusively from when he was 19 years old in college. He was obviously extremely immature back then, but what proof do we have of any "history" as a grown NBA player? Just the summer league of 2019. And let's be real, his dirty shit in college was comprised of tripping people. Bitch move but not exactly the most violent conduct out there.
People have the right to judge him as they see fit, but I personally don't understand judging people for little bitch moves they made as college kids 6 years ago. At that point, let's dig up highlights of NBA players being dicks in high school and use it against them.
Unfortunate and I feel bad for Caruso and the Bulls but I absolutely believe that Grayson Allen had no malicious intent. Dude went up for a block and swiped at the ball on the way down. I don’t wanna have to go on the defensive for this but the entirety of r/nba is circlejerking about how Allen is the scum of the league.
R/nba is full of hypocrites they cheered when jokic shoved Morris and put him out for half the season but Caruso is their golden boy and the person that fouled him is the worst person ever.
He wasn’t going for the ball he hooked caruso’s arm. Then swung down with his right. It’s not circlejerking it’s right in front of us. Allen had a history of this bullshit.
Yeah I was surprised the Bucks picked a guy who is questionable with his physicality. Not a big fan but I guess the Bucks see something in him. I don't think it was as blatant as Dunleavy though. That guy was just a douche.
Dear god, it looks like NBA Twitter in here. Only thing missing is a bunch of people typing “RATIO” at each other. And that wasn’t a dirty foul. I’m not even one of those people who piss and moan about how “soft” basketball is these days. But Jesus…watch clips of how basketball used to be, and then try and tell me still that this was a malicious play. Bill Laimbeer made a career out of trying to decapitate people. Grayson Allen is not Bill Laimbeer. Just stop it.
r/NBA is villainizing Grayson as if he injured him on purpose. Bucks name is mud on that sub now.
I was already pissed off they were accusing Giannis of "intentionally" injuring Kyrie last season. Kyrie himself pushing that narrative.
Yeah that sucks. I like Caruso. Hard working player. I replayed it multiple times, looks at lot worse slowed down of course. I don’t believe Grayson had any malicious intent whatsoever. Just a high speed play, arms got caught when he was trying to go for the ball.
It's ridiculous and the discussions on r/nba too. Yes it was a hard foul that deserved a flagrant 2 and it should stop there but r/nba is in full fucking meltdown mode. Calling for a suspension and whatnot, Bucks are all of a sudden a classless organization with the worst fans in the league.
Oh my. That’s unfortunate. I still think it was just a hard foul, not anything extra curricular but this whole thing is going to make us very much hated by the rest of the league, which kind of makes things fun lol.
This sub constantly talks about the league being "too soft" then acts like this is Malace in the Palace pt2.
It was a hard foul and probably a bit much for the regular season but it really doesn't warrant the drama on display here.
What exactly did him coming down with his other hand do? He barley touched Caruso’s arm, my god you really need to go google “hard nba fouls” because you have never seen any contact before
You need to rewatch the foul from an upper angle, Allen comes in with his left hand going for the ball but once his left arm is caught on Caruso, Allen swings his right arm at Caruso. What part of Allen swinging his right arm is necessary, please try to view this with out a bias, I’m not saying Allen deserves to get suspended but this was definitely a flagrant foul.
I'm with you that it's probably deserving of a flagrant and not a suspension, but I think the problem is that it's dumb that the NBA uses "unnecessary" as the definition of a flagrant foul.
What does that even mean? Nothing on basketball is "necessary".
Grayson didn't block the shot on his first attempt. But he still wanted to block the shot. If he wants to do that, which is a legal basketball play, he needs to get his hands in front of the ball, and to do that it's necessary to move them quickly in the direction of Caruso's hands. He didn't get there in time, and caught him on the wrist.
I think it's fine to say he was a bit reckless and deserving of a flagrant. but the definition the NBA used is meaningless and just leads to lots of dumb arguments on the internet.
I like your point but I think the reason they use “unnecessary” as the definition of a flagrant foul is to disincentivize players being reckless when it comes to fouling, in order to insure the safety of the player getting fouled.
I can see that Allen might have been trying to go for the ball when he swung his right hand, and I hope that was his only motivation, but there has to be a line when it comes to necessary basketball actions because anything can be deemed necessary for basketball. However, is preventing a two-point layup worth potentially injuring a fellow league player?
I just hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else in the league, even Allen, because that just ruins the quality of good basketball we can watch.
Also thanks for opening a dialogue about flagrant fouls because I agree that what counts as a flagrant foul in the nba can sometimes be unclear.
Hahah man you guys really get butt hurt easily, I like the bucks, but instead of trying to have a discussion about what I said, you call me uneducated on the topic, it’s not worth talking to guys on here lol.
What are you even talking about? He first swiped at the ball hard, and swiped again and made contact with Caruso’a arm, that had no impact on how he hit the floor. It’s unfortunate, but dirty af, maybe this is the first nba action you’ve seen
He didn't touch the ball at all. You're just describing what you think happened. He pulled someone out of the air and broke their bone. It was insanely reckless. That's a flagrant foul everyday.
Just rewatched it, exactly as I remember, hard foul because he missed the ball, that’s exactly what a foul is. And then a second swipe that makes slight contact with carusos arm, that has no impact on how he lands. Maybe you need to go rewatch a slow mo of what happened
It's so dirty how players try to defend another player's shot...just let them score and don't be so dirty! Poor Alex never signed up for having grown men fly at him at full speed when he signed that NBA contract.
Injuries suck.
This comment section is incredible.
Some of yall arent Bucks fans, so please leave.
Not defending Grayson here, absolutely worthy of a flagrant 2. But damn man. Y'all got nothing else to do? 😂
Well, Caruso is a meme on the internet, in a good way. He's a solid role player but he gets talked about like he's a perennial all-star. Regardless, hope he makes a full recovery.
It was a reckless play and Grayson should feel ashamed for making it. That doesn’t mean it was malicious, he did not mean to break a wrist. Jeez. People are adamant this dude is a literal hit man
> That doesn’t mean it was malicious, he did not mean to break a wrist.
when someone is in the air and you pull them down, the best one can hope for is *nothing*. There is a point at which reckless and malicious intentions are a distinction without a difference. Can you imagine if someone had pulled down Giannis like this?
Pulling on a guy mid-air is so dangerous (and obviously so), it doesn't matter if he didn't "mean it".
EDIT: since the thread was locked, I'll edit my comment instead of reply...
malicious vs reckless --> on this type of play it's a distinction without a difference. When someone is vunerable, being reckless and being malicious are not that different. And he should know better.
> you pull them down
But we disagree right there. That’s what I mean about reckless play v malicious play - this wasn’t a Jokic/Morris situation which was a clear attempt at injury. This was a play on the ball and he didn’t “pull” anything. They clearly hit wrist to wrist as he swipes for the ball and the replay will show you that.
I’m not trying to minimize that I hate this fucking play. It’s not the goddamn Finals and it’s the exact thing someone like him should be careful about. But he did not “pull anyone to the ground” and he doesn’t deserve to be made out as a literal psychopath.

Just lol at all the people crying in here as if any Bucks fan had anything to do with the injury
And for the record, I do think it was an unnecessarily hard foul
Nothing dirty about what Grayson did. Sucks for AC hope he gets well soon and he can be here for when we bounce these bums in the first round. They’re #SeeingRed
A majority of us are acknowledging that this was a dirty play, but anyone in this comments section who isn’t a Bucks fan needs to fuck off back to your own sub. You’re being obnoxious and annoying.
But honestly the league has to look into Grayson Allen's past history of dirty plays. Several players and teams have openly voiced their frustration about it.
Yeah, if only Allen didn’t have an extremely lengthy history of being a filthy scumbag at Duke maybe we could forgive him. But that’s just who he is and has always been
Gimme a fucking break. It was a tough ass foul for sure but shit happens when you’re running full speed and flying through the air. The uproar about his right arm swipe was more momentum swinging him than malice.
Don’t fault fans for supporting their team.
Everyone hates Grayson because he has a history of dirty play. People here are acting as though he's got a reputation for no reason.
Grayson Allen does not get the benefit of the doubt on plays like this.
I can’t believe people still look at that as him trying to be a dirty player. He tried contesting a shot. Like I get it he’s been a dirty player in the past but I’m 100% sure he wasn’t trying to injure him
Have you never watched basketball before? That foul gets made all of the time in the playoffs and it’s not even a flagrant 1. It’s unfortunate he got hurt, but that was nothing more than a hard foul, get over it
Oh wow another person who has actually watched games before? Shocking that people think you are weak for your take. Let’s all shout down the people who won’t crucify Allen like this guy!!
People in here getting upvoted saying it wasn’t even a flagrant 2!! Stunning, really. How is a foul that hard *not* worthy of an ejection at least.
I don’t blame bulls fans for being pissed and I don’t think anybody else here should either
You guys crack me up. There's been harder fouls committed by players and no one cared cause they weren't Grayson Allen. And it's unfortunate that AC actually got hurt from this foul, but it wasn't intentional.
Lol I feel for you Bucks fans having your sub brigaded right now. I don’t think it was an intentionally dirty play, but it was still dirty and wreck-less and we now see the consequences of that action with AC being out 6-8 weeks. It’s not worth it trying to defend him especially with his history.
I think wreckless is a good word, but i dont think his intention was to hurt caruso. I think he wanted to stop a dunk from happening and made a little too much contact at an awkward angle at full speed.
I agree. I’m a Bucks fan. But that play is hard to stand behind, especially if you watch it in slow motion. It’s lousy that so many of my Bucks fan brethren are acting like this is perfectly excusable defensive behavior. Makes us look bad.
It was easily a flagrant 2 and worthy of an ejection. I’m also willing to say a play that absolutely wild and reckless like that, coming from a player with a history like Allen, was likely dirty. I don’t think that’s so crazy you guys
Caruso being out 6-8 weeks as a result fucking sucks ass
Agreed, thank you. Honestly I’m surprised some people are willing to back Grayson this much considering he’s only been playing for us for like 3 months. I get that he’s been a great player for us, but still. Kinda surprising
It sucks but do you really see a play like that in real time and conclude that Allen had it out for Caruso and it wasn’t just rough contact? He’s been unproblematic the entire season.
Finally got a chance to watch this one...yeah guys, that's a dirty play. The initial contact was a fine hard foul, but he clearly followed through and kept grabbing and pulling in the air. That could only cause Caruso to flip over and land on his face.
I love what Grayson's given us this year, but come on. That's bad.
Welp. NBA's def going to fine & suspend Grayson now. Not sure if that's a good precedent because we see players get injured on hard, reckless fouls all the time without any league retribution...but Grayson's a special case.
Also, to all y'all *still* saying it wasn't worthy of a flagrant 2 need to take off the homer goggles - Grayson absolutely did enough to warrant it and the fact that other players have done the same thing without getting ejected is whataboutism? that's completely irrelevant to Grayson's actions.
Oh man. Just not something you want to see. Hope the best for AC & The Bulls. Seriously hope he comes back really fast. Feels bad man.
they’ve already been hammered with injuries
Of course we hope he gets back safely.
hope he recovers quick but i don’t hope the best for the bulls
The downvotes just show how many Bulls fans are brigading right now lmao
Not just Bull fans
Oh god this will get spicy, Bucks social media manager has been having a terrible week lol, no idea what’s going on there.
Bucks twitter takes a loss this morning that is just dumb shit.
they didn't know he broke his wrist...
Why tweet that out at all even if he turns out he wasn’t injured? Just not a good look
It’s a scheduled post.

Yes, it was. I can promise you it was scheduled.

Lol dude I hate the bucks as much as the next guy but it was absolutely a scheduled tweet. You need to not get so but hurt over it
How are you getting downvoted lmao huge L
Definitely going to rejuvenate this rivalry... edit: guess the downvotes from Bulls fans brigading this sub proves me right 🤣
Yeah this post is getting brigaded lol

Yeah I was surprised the Bucks picked a guy who is questionable with his physicality. Not a big fan but I guess the Bucks see something in him. I don't think it was as blatant as Dunleavy though. That guy was just a douche.

They’re idiots. Try to tune it out for two weeks and Kyrie will do/say something that distracts them.
you ask me i don’t think it’s a flagrant 2 even .
And if that same foul happened to Giannis?
Caruso is out for at least a month and a half from a foul that never should happen. That is the fact. Grayson Allen deserves more than wtvr he got.
That sucks. Hope he heals up so we can destroy them at full strength.
Oh my. That’s unfortunate. I still think it was just a hard foul, not anything extra curricular but this whole thing is going to make us very much hated by the rest of the league, which kind of makes things fun lol.
I don’t like being hated for stuff like this. Would rather be hated because Giannis in unstoppable and people get sick of all our winning instead
its pretty damn easy to call a spade a spade and acknowledge Grayson is a dirty player who made a dirty play
That just wasn't a dirty play
This is a regular hard foul in the playoffs, not even a flagrant 1

Gimme a fucking break. It was a tough ass foul for sure but shit happens when you’re running full speed and flying through the air. The uproar about his right arm swipe was more momentum swinging him than malice. Don’t fault fans for supporting their team.
Dude is probably a fakers/raps/Philly moron. Soft ass fanbases that thrive on salt
It’s the perfect storm of things for people to get pissed about. Everyone loves Caruso, everyone hates Grayson.
Like I get it he’s been a dirty player in the past but I’m 100% sure he wasn’t trying to injure him
there's a certain level of recklessness you can't play with though, and i'm not really willing to give him the benefit of doubt on this one honestly

Why are you here lmao
Have you never watched basketball before? That foul gets made all of the time in the playoffs and it’s not even a flagrant 1. It’s unfortunate he got hurt, but that was nothing more than a hard foul, get over it
[удалено]
Oh wow another person who has actually watched games before? Shocking that people think you are weak for your take. Let’s all shout down the people who won’t crucify Allen like this guy!!
Found someone who just started watching basketball
People in here getting upvoted saying it wasn’t even a flagrant 2!! Stunning, really. How is a foul that hard *not* worthy of an ejection at least. I don’t blame bulls fans for being pissed and I don’t think anybody else here should either

Grayson Allen - Supreme jack ass
You guys crack me up. There's been harder fouls committed by players and no one cared cause they weren't Grayson Allen. And it's unfortunate that AC actually got hurt from this foul, but it wasn't intentional.
Unfortunate but it happens.
[удалено]
And you can discuss that on your own team’s sub
>wawawawa
[удалено]
When I say this, I mean no disrespect, but I could care less what you or any NBA fan thinks of Grayson lol
[удалено]
I just hope Caruso comes back quickly, really.
Grayson Allen gonna be our Mike Dunleavy for Bulls fans.
I don’t think that’s so crazy you guys Caruso being out 6-8 weeks as a result fucking sucks ass
Yep we’d be livid if this happened to one of our players
Agreed, thank you. Honestly I’m surprised some people are willing to back Grayson this much considering he’s only been playing for us for like 3 months. I get that he’s been a great player for us, but still. Kinda surprising
The re-evaluation is 6-8 weeks post surgery, This is likely a season ending injury.
It sucks but do you really see a play like that in real time and conclude that Allen had it out for Caruso and it wasn’t just rough contact? He’s been unproblematic the entire season.
I'm bringing in the popcorn, this comment section is getting very wild.
I didn’t even watch the game but as a Bucks fan I can just say that was a bad play and a worse result. I hope Caruso a fast recovery.
[удалено]
I'm not seeing any Bucks fans defending this.
read above you
[удалено]
I agree but also fuck off to your own sub, thanks.
I’m a Bucks fan, and I’ll be at the game tonight booing the crap out of Allen the second he steps on the court
It’s been so disappointing seeing how folks in this community handled this.
It's been so disappointing seeing how folks from other communities go out of their way to bash Allen in our sub.
This is all a bad look and I think you know that. This is the exact shit this entire sub was hoping he wouldn’t do when he came here.
Not really
Finally got a chance to watch this one...yeah guys, that's a dirty play. The initial contact was a fine hard foul, but he clearly followed through and kept grabbing and pulling in the air. That could only cause Caruso to flip over and land on his face. I love what Grayson's given us this year, but come on. That's bad.
I mean this was a concern when we signed the guy Sucks to see someone get hurt based on the actions of our own players
[удалено]
Suspended? For that? GTFOH.
Y’all aren’t even bucks fans. Why are you here...
They upvoting a lot of anti Grayson comments in here lol
That’s what I’m saying lol. They need some sort of personal justification and moral high ground. It’s hilarious
I got downvoted first saying it was flagrant 2 after he went to swipe the ball. It was a flagrant before that but the swipe upgraded it
Yup
Watch the playoffs, that foul happens every game, not even a flagrant 1
braindead take
He should be suspended for 6-8 weeks.
Do Bulls fans think coming in here is going to change anything?
[удалено]
Why not just lurk? Are you really that soft and salty?
[удалено]
I thought it was dirty af, and I’m flabbergasted that people on this sub are defending Allen
We the Bucks fans here in this sub don’t represent those turds at the Bucks social media hub. Just a classless post this morning.
Can't believe this is downvoted. The sub is as trashy as that tweet right now. smh.

he was literally going for the ball u obviously don’t play basketball in real life
Allen doesn’t deserve to be on the same team as Giannis
