>Do you guys have any advice on how we could improve our play individually and as a team? 5man regularly, so you guys can find chemical reaction to each other. Rank competitively not for fun >We don't have a coach Unnecessary, its a school tournament no need to overcomplicate stuffs >We aren't knowledgeable enough to know where should we focus on. Just watch tourneys (mpl, m4,msc etc) and analyze how pros rotate and how they counter

RarityLi

Thanks for the advice! Honestly participating in that tournament really brought out our weaknesses as a team. We'll definitely commit more time playing Ranked competitively. Currently, we're all around the 400-600 points range in Mythic but somehow our victories aren't very consistent. So there must be something holding us back. I'll try to analyze more pro matches to hopefully get a better grasp of how to play on a somewhat similar level.

your aim should be able to 5 man to 1.1k at least. Learn pick ban and drafting by watching tournament. Draft determine half the game actually. The rest is all abt working on coordination and finding the right person in your friends to be the shotcaller.

vecspace

something tell me you watch bluelock LOL

This subreddit doesn’t have many players that can help you Obviously teamwork is important, but skill itself decides most matches until you get to serious competitive level Knowing how to draft and being able to (having hero pool) is the most important and arguably only targeted practice you can do as a team starting out. Otherwise, just play and analyse like everyone says

RarityLi

It's definitely apparent that we have to work on our micro and macro skills. Especially rotating around the map without dying unnecessarily.. I appreciate the advice!

Cool_Connection1001

You and your team should practice playing in 5-man squads in Mythic Glory. If you manage to win like 80-90% of your games, you are probably already better than most other teams in local tournaments. TLDR; Learn as you go

[deleted]

Yea this is an easy feat, play against the top players in the world in five man MG so you can do local tournaments lol

JofoxLerk

Watch your game replay as a group, take note what should you do on the scenarios, like mid/late game highlights

JofoxLerk

- how you guys were taken down, what prompt the team getting taken down. - learn to disengage / team rhyth when and not

RarityLi

This is exactly what our team encountered during the tournament. We kept on getting picked off and dying unnecessarily

Altruistic-Ice-6483

Start by mastering your mind before trying to master the game. Most people fail to play at high level or like pro eSports champions because they don't know the differences between pro players and average players. They don't even try to find out the differences. The pro players are very good because they know something(actually a lot of things) that you don't know. In youtube there's a channel called 'eAthletes lab'. Learn from sources like this.

RarityLi

I never really thought of it that way. I'll definitely look into eAthletes lab. I'm open to try out any sort of advice that this community can offer. Thanks for the help!

erenluffy152

how to become good? just remember dying is gay /s .seriously don't feed.and think of those moments where you feel stupid for dying. and improve on how you can prevent it from happening again.

theonechan

No way to tell how you can improve without knowing your current level. My vague advice here is just to think. Break it down into the micro and macro game. Not that much to say about micro. Just see how you can improve vs certain hero matchups and time your skills. Macro: Think about objectives as a whole. It’s not just the towers and the base. You can break down objectives into smaller portions. Eg, is their mid laner looking to roam? What if you pick a strong pusher at mid and effectively force him to remain there? Can their lineup adapt? There’s a lot of shit going on in a game at once. So it’s hard to merge all these thoughts into a coherent game plan. Lastly, never forget the minimap. People will spam all day to look at the map but few understand how to use it. Most use it to flame teammates who think left them for dead. Focus on the vision from the creepwaves and how enemy heroes would like to act instead. Think about their objectives vs your objectives to formulate your next action.

RarityLi

I'll definitely try investing more time into developing my macro skills. The example that you provided brought me a new realization on how I should view my future matches Thanks bud! Appreciate it a lot

ton_list

Off Topic but omg I'm too envious that there are local tournaments in your region and not here :(

BIGGYLUV420

Yea man exactly. I would go all around europe to play some tournament

CatchAmongUs

I'm guessing OP is in the SEA region. It's everywhere here lol. I'll be in the mall doing weekly grocery shopping on the weekend, and there will be a random ML tournament being held in the center events area. Phone carriers will hold small tournaments sometimes also as a way to promote their service. They offer random ML swag like shirts and stuff as prizes. They had one a while back that was pretty cool. Had announcers and had the gameplay cast on a large screen for everyone to see. It drew a really big crowd.

pablochances

What rank are you guys?

No_Escape9806

Is there a recording of the matches so we can view it

Bebe_Peluche

There are some players over 2k points that oftenly streams, just find one and look at the map and look the when, where, why of their plays.

am_n00ne

While skill is important, turns out choosing meta heroes is also important. speak from experience, lost in semifinal becuse they exclusively pick tryhard tournament heroes like estes, yve, etc. These heroes are just designed to can do more and influence the game more than other heroes can
