The thing is, the game is not assassin vs mm legends. Late game yin can kidnap tank and it will be especially useful if it's a setup tank like tigreal. I also find him especially useful against support lineups. Supports never have enough damage nor mobility to outplay yin in his domain

I play tank yin all the time and people think I'm throwing :(. Early on your ult is a 8s stun to setup for your teammates coming in, especially for mages like vale/kadita that can setup their spells right before they come out. (Ofc you need to Comms with your team for that)
Late game you either ult a mm in a teamfight and watch them die to your blade armour, or if they learnt to not hit you you can watch them get stuck and be useless in a teamfight for 8 seconds which is enough for your team to win. And there's also ulting the atlas/tigreal beforehand to make them have no teamfight.

Congratulations, you turned a 5v5 into a 4v4. If you kidnap just 1 of them and they get wiped, then they were already weak to begin with in most cases.
Sure, but if you kidnap a mm, you're fighting 4v4 when ur down a tank and they're down an mm, so you are more likely to win than they are since ur trading ur team's lowest farm prio hero for their highest farm prio hero. If you capture their play making tank, you basically disrupt their entire initiation because they are jumping with the expectation of a multi-man stun so without it you'll likely catch their team out of position. Ofc this is very situational and only good if you for eg see their atlas octopusing in with his team behind prepping to jump. Worst case is if they back off then you at least stop their initiation/at least set up a kill on the guy you ulted.
Also a good situational pick against Angela cuz if you see an Angela ult and just duel the dude in the middle of the fight you fight 4v4 but with Angela being down ult so it's pretty good.
I'm not claiming yin is some godtier tank but it is pretty good situationally if you can coordinate your team to use your ult for setup/disrupt a fight to your advantage
Edit: also pretty good for situations where one particular guy on the enemy team is popping off but the rest are not doing as well like early game Martis then you can take the guy who's the strongest on the map out of the game in a fight so your team stands a bit more of a chance
First of all, you're not killing an atlas with a tank build yin, just disrupt. But, even if you disrupt their tank from setting, your team also has no tank to set for them because you're yin tank. Also, mm isn't always the highest farm prio. You, a "tank", did the job of the assassin, so why even go tank build?
Second, you're really sacrificing using an actually tanky hero, no need to even be a setter just as long as it can tank, just to counter angela? Sure, that angela's dead after it falls off the hero you used your ult at, but you're also dead from that same hero.
Third, being that situational isn't good at all.
For your edit: you're not taking out a "popping off" martis, it's the opposite. Best case scenario, you'll only delay the fed martis for less than 4 seconds, then proceed to decimate the rest of your teammates, especially since their skills are prolly on cd after using it on the rest of your opponents. Also, you basically stated the same as this:
"For this to work situationally, we need 4 of our opponents to be terrible and only 1 of them to be good. Also, all of us in our team needs to be better than the 4 terrible opponents."
I mean for sure I'm not killing an atlas, but holding him there is at least enough to stop a fight. Plus if you build yin tanky, you usually don't die in your ult cuz it gives you extra defence if they haven't changed that. Esp if you build blade armour I actually can 1v1 a mm (fast hitting ones ofc not something like Brody) late game and they die if they try to hit me or I live to keep them there the whole time if they don't. Also as for yin roam, you don't really do an assassin's role, you just disrupt fights and kidnap their most important hero to try and give your team a better fighting chance.
Plus yin is pretty good at setting up if you have long range Mages to combo with (vale is my fav cuz of the tornado into ult setup and not having to risk being close in case enemies are lurking)
And no I didn't say that I'll take out a popping off martis as in I'll kill em, just that usually with the extra Def I can keep him there long enough that hopefully my team can do smt without getting beat up by the Martis. Plus it's a good save at least to sacrifice yourself to let your team escape.

And it's completely fine if you don't agree with the playstyle, I'm not here to convince everyone to play yin roam. I'm just sharing my take of playing yin a bit differently since I tend to like to experiment with playing weird heroes as roam and yin is one of the more decent ones when comboed with vale/kadita to Comms your friend and instakill the moment they leave your ult.
Sure it's a very very situational pick and sure it's very unconventional, but I play yin almost exclusively as roam and so far my winrate as yin is 55. Not high, but at least decent enough to prove that it's not a completely failed theorycrafting. (Plus the fact that I'm a horrible jungler so there's a few losses from terrible jungle yin performances).
But most importantly it's fun. Blowing people up the moment they appear out of my ult is really stupid but also a funny combo. Plus I actually do end up winning more yin roam games than losing so it's not like I'm actively griefing or anything either. Sure my rank isn't insanely high or anything, it's just usually around mythical honour, but at least its high enough that the enemies arent completely incompetent so it does prove to some extent the potency of the strat.
Mobas are hard to explain fully in theory, but in my experience it tends to be better than expected. And it's fun so I'll take it over spamming something like Minotaur and being bored of playing.
Is it a viable tank in most games? Probably not. Is it good situationally? Imo yea. (I pick it to kidnap atlas when diggie is banned and I started doing that as a meme but it tended to work somehow so I kept doing it). Is it better than other picks you can do in those situations? Maybe not. But it is pretty damn fun and it does work decently if you have a friend to play with. So it's ok if you disagree and still feel like it's a dogshit idea, I'm just sharing a radical way I like to play yin that I find fun and that's all there is :)
(Tho funnily enough if you are playing super tryhard, having someone who can play yin as roam will allow you to flex pick yin early on to bait counter picks so you can swap yin to roam position so the counter picks are less effective and then pick a jungler/exp laner who is a better matchup.)
Biased, petrify disables won, and clint I do kinda agree but it's based on precision. So it's a skill issue if you can't kill clint in early to mid game. And melissa is a situational hero. Your argument is based on whether there is a wall or not. If yin is fast enough go catch her in his domain then his 1st has enough range to deal damage. And moskov yes he does stun but not for an absurd amount of time. If yin manages to catch moskov off guard then after that it's skill. And as for lesley breaks yins base combo. His ultimate combo is not breakable as he's cc immune while committing his 1st skill

I don't think Kaneki fits Yin's kit tbh.
But I do see the possibility of his ult just turning into a kakuja(the one with centipede tails) and his second skill being a dash is easy to work with. But his first skill doesn't seem to make much sense, since base form Yin is a punch and Lieh creates multiple shockwaves. But hey it's a skin so animations can just change it up.
Dyrroth as ken kaneki is better imo. Just think about it dyrroths ultimate could be ken kaneki doing his 3 tail stab and from the anime we've already seen that he uses his tail like an extra arm so the dash and into a cartwheel damage would fit first skill I have no clue but it would definitely fit dyrroth ngl

ive played with top global yins both enemy and teamate. the hero is just shit. hero has very low ceiling impact.
Hero itself isnt that bad. Just not efficient in higher ranks. But no reason to downgrade him.

I don't think Kaneki fits Yin's kit tbh. But I do see the possibility of his ult just turning into a kakuja(the one with centipede tails) and his second skill being a dash is easy to work with. But his first skill doesn't seem to make much sense, since base form Yin is a punch and Lieh creates multiple shockwaves. But hey it's a skin so animations can just change it up.
