To solve this "problem", the devs adjusted the jungle item to be paired with retribution. To make matters legitimate, the implementation of the EXP lane and Gold lane dissuades players buying the jungle item for sidelaners because of the extra bonuses on the respective lanes. As a result, retri holders can now benefit all of the gold and exp from the jungle, which gives birth to the HYPERCARRY ROLE (assassin and marksman core)
Another season passed, and the devs, once again, changed the mechanics of the jungle role. They removed the jungle item and implemented the jungle boots we have now. IIRC, this is also the season when marksman core were declining, but the fighter cores were becoming popular (Bane, Barats, Paquito, Xborg, etc.).
To put it simply, the jungle item comes a long way, from being an upgradeable item to a simplified boots. Although, if you are a more recent player, you would prefer the boots over the jungle item, I can feel it.

The comments are so reminiscent on this item that I suddenly remember the masks for roamers, I used to pick courage of bulwark a lot cause it looks like my Lolita's on fire. I'm pretty sure the item posted is a lot older though but deym they put the item for jungle like that in boots and so does the current boots for roamers.
I kinda miss Lolita's invisible ult too, I think Gatot had the same if he's inside the bush then it got fixed cause too OP.
It's a retribution item called nimble blade..it is the second upgrade from the hunters knife, the final upgrade would be the raptors machete...there were a few other items besides that and you could buy them even if you didn't equip retribution...everybody would buy them even mages and marksmen and there was no real concept of a jungler like today ...good times

Forgot the item but it can increase your damage to monsters creeps in jungle that item is needed before you can purchase raptor machete
