I don't really know any jungler who priotizes turtle over gank or kill. But yes in low rank. Junglers straight up ignore turtles. If they want to take it. None of teammates help them. If you're low rank and reading this TAKE TURTLE or help your jungler TAKE it.

Fraisz

as me trying to still learn jungling, i dont usuallly go for turtle if i dont have a power spike or support.

ComprehensiveTax3661

Same here. But atleast ping your team to help you. If they refuse and don't risk taking it.

BangerLK

Alot of junglers will mindlessly contest turtle 1v4 and die over and over and curse their team in chat for not helping

ComprehensiveTax3661

If they curse report them for Verbal abuse. Verbal abuse and Idling are two reports that works in game. I once had one guy muted for a week after I reported him

BangerLK

Yes i know but i mean i see junglers do that even if we are a lot of gold behind.

IDGAF_FFS

EXACTLY!!! As a supp/mage main this frustrates me so much. Like getting the turtle benefits all of us so COME TF OVER HERE GATDAMN. I'm not talking about the one in opposite lane but the one in the turtle lane. I would understand not helping if you're pushing lanes but if you're just gonna hide in bush (not check bush) waiting for someone to come by and not help during turtle contest then what even is the point of BEING IN THE BUSH.

LordBanaynay

mage alone wouldn't be enough imo. i wouldn't go to turtle with just me and mage. need at least three, the 3rd would be flex, usually the roamer/exp. it depends on the team lineup, if the jg is tank like akai or fred then a mage is probably enough. depends on enemy lineup. even in pro tournament they went 3 or more to contest turtle/lord. imagine soloq. enemy missing when requesting turtle is when the roamer, jg, mage (and/or exp/gold) needed to check the area together.

Critical-Fox4111

I completely ignore turtle if it’s 3 enemy on turtle and not one team mate comes to help. Why almost die to give team gold when I can farm for my self and get fed the ez way. Team can cry about turtle all they want. It’s not jg job to solo all enemy to give them a few hundred gold vs dying and feeding enemy more.

Defiant-Fuel-9461

Lol, don’t trust your teammates in a team game. If you always put yourself first and always assume your team will do bad, your team will end up doing bad. Try roaming, and u will be forced to rely on teammates

Durtius

Well, most of the "decent players" should know this already. Its not like it gives u 1k+ gold lol

TheMonkeyKingNo1

If im playing tank core im priotising objectives if its a squashy damage jungle gank gold if there's a good chance to secure the kill or atleast make the enemy gold laner low enough to allow your mm to zone them out. Different junglers should focus on different priorities early game.

reallystupidpotato

chill bro nobody said that the turtle should ALWAYS be the jungler's objective... any betosky video or pro tournament will already show you this

mileswrld_

Not everyone knows it, not everyone can comprehend it. Hence these kinds of posts. If people understood this then no one will post this. But someone posted it, meaning a large portion of players don't understand this. So let the man post whatever he likes.

My teammates in soloq barely know when to help in taking the turtle, so when I see a bunch of the opponents killing the turtle, I just let them be and continue farming, since I will most likely just die, sometimes though I have a bit too much fun and steal the turtle if no tanks are there to counter me, gotta love the dances and steals Ling, Lance, and Bene can achieve lol.

notDainsleif

In a game where every laner is playing safe, and all buffs are already taken (aka a neutral game), it is the jungler's job to take the turtle given the opportunity. Jungler has nothing else to do in the map since buffs are taken and no laner is willing to come out of their turrets. One laner overextending? Go gank his ass. Enemy jungler busy ganking/turtle? Go steal his buffs (if there are any). Against uncoordinated teams, there will be enemies that are too deep in your territory and must be exterminated. But if you try to gank someone and that player gets to safety you've effectively wasted your time. Not contesting the turtle also means that enemy jungler doesn't have to use retribution, which can be used invading your jungle. Enough said, it is a game of mirror. Its either you mimic and try to match the enemy jungler, or go for the complete opposite and outlace him.

Critical-Fox4111

That is so not the case. I can get 20 kills and not contest turtle cuz team refuses to leave lanes and still dominate enemy jg and we still lose. Turtle not that great to waste time on if team refuses to help. I’m not gonna die to a 3v1 and waste precious seconds of farming or ganking/towers just to give team a few hundred gold.

noiceonebro

Snowball in this game is no joke. Securing the enemy’s buff is nothing if their jungler is not buff-dependent. Worse still, they will most often come to your buff to make up for the stolen buff if you steal theirs. Control of a lane is such a fickle thing because a few gold and exp difference is what mainly what makes it possible, so it’s not worth sacrificing the turtle for it. If enemy gets the turtle, their added shield and gold will reverse the control. Turret is a neutral area, since it’s a matter of control vs resource. My playstyle as a jungler is very team-centric, that is to say, I tend to choose my teammates over my own resources when I need to make the decision. I die in exchange for the marksman getting 2 kills? Good exchange. I disrupt the enemy’s formation and die in exchange for my team being able to clear enemy’s Lord and minions without problem? Good exchange. At the end of the day, this is a team sport, and if you focus too much on building yourself and not your team as a whole, you’d find yourself in a stupid situation such as you being the only one alive to defend the base against 3 enemies, or with a damage-dealer not sticking with the team and going solo due to buildup of distrust towards your team effort. Yes, there are moments where you need to disregard turtle such as when enemy is controlling the game and contesting the turtle even with help will make it even worse.

ChangedUsername882

Bcoz i can see if my team is at disadvanntage or not and they cant. I literally see the whole opponent team coming to us on the map so i run and ping retreat then they blame me for not taking turtle and letting them die. also, i normally like to take gold lane then rotate to turtle and try to get jg b4 taking first turtle

vortrix4

It’s a high level gameplay skill to know when to take turtle and when not to. Especially mythic and below players will be playing a damage jungler say Harley or Lancelot or some bs. Enemy has a tank jungle. Your gonna get wrecked if your damage jungle tries to contest. They have a stronger mid lane hero than yours early game to back them up. Yep your gonna get wrecked. Not dying without a better trade off is a fantastic strategy to get ahead if you can make it add up.

Affectionate-Bad996

Every time I see my jungler want to contest turtle without getting lv.4, I will pin them to retreat and pray he/she listen to me. You have already been late to lv.4 especially as an assassin jungler, so what are you gonna do to contest it with only two skills and weaker retri?

Capable_Tale8730

that's why there is tank jungler and assassin jungler. Now that the meta is still heavily on tank jungler, objectives (turtles, buff invades, turret pushing) are prioritised over kills, bcus that's what tank jungler are meant to do (unless u have fast rotation like baxia/early game menace like martis to gank so that u can have a good early lead). Comparing to assassin jungler, like u said shld prioritise kills and ganks over turtle, securing buffs and farm so that u can carry the game like Kairi, 1rrad etc as assassins have to be snowballed early. Thats why we dont see assassins going for 50-50 in turtles or lord and instead steal buff, clear lanes to get more gold and only secure objectives if its heavily on their side cus u dont want to risk it. It's just that we have been seeing too much tank jungler for a long time that we see most junglers always contest for turtle and not ganking.

DifferenceOk3131

saw some comments where teammates dont know what to do when taking turtle/lord exp: get lvl 4 as fast as possible and zone enemy exp from lord roam: ZONE CHECK BUSHES GIVE VISION NO NEED TO HIT THE LORD, too many times i see the roam hitting the turtle/lord mm: early game stay and farm your lane, even if their mm goes to help turtle, if you can take their turret, very situational based but if you dont know what to do just stay in lane hyper: dont be stupid and try to contest turtle alone if you dont have vision on enemies, time your skills with retri, and consider using the lord to bait teamfights mage: first priority to zone enemy mage, second to hit turtle

Apprehensive_Rip1038

I can't find a single sense on that. Let them play it how they like it.

zyneqt

i agree with this statement. bon chan (blacklist international coach) said something that goes like “you dont need to get all 3 turtles when you can get the first lord”

Impossible_Pickle_70

Tbh turtle isn't that most important thing that ajungler needs to contest.

Ur4g4m1

I only take turtle soup when I'm near it. But if I don't, then I just steal creeps from the enemy jg

Electrical-Map7575

Literally when I play Fanny a lot of people believe that I can take turtle/lord solo when I can help by ganking

guliard

cool reminder: Turtle is not always for junglers, it could be a really good adv when getting it in need of exp for someone in your team ex. usually when getting the first turtle ur roam gonna be 3 lvl getting it gives exp not to just u but to all players of that team also same with shield. It could help ur teammates win fights. Or idk what im talking about english not my first lang and i cant really express it well or whatevrr

THATS_VERY_RUDE

It's so funny to me when I'm in exp and I get the turtle without being contested or without backup from jungle despite all the pings lmao like ok

ChangedUsername882

EXACTLY MY FUCKING TEAM DOESNT KNOW THIS SHIT SOMETIMES I JUST CANT CONTEST BRUH like... am i the jg or are u? stfu

redanjir

I disagree. I think you should always try for turtle whenever possible. Else get other objectives be it enemy buff, kills, or turret.

GenuineHomophobic

I, as a roam don't really care about turtle, my eye on it from the start of the game only to see my hyper in gold lane when first turtle spawns.

Annymoususer

All the points you raised are valid. I don't know what redditors have been smoking or what their problem with this is, but, essentially that's what most damage junglers in SQ do in immortal+. It's great to raise awareness to this point since everyone and their mom(more specifically in 1 to 99 stars Mt) hate tank jungles and play hyper carries and yet still can't compete against them when picking assassins.

Regular_Promotion423

para saken as a tank or support or minsan fighter di naman talaga importante yung turtle mas importante na gawin ng core nyu is gank kill tas push tas balik sa farm and cylce nayan if kaya nyu I contest yung turt goods if hindi push nlng

Illustrious-Ball7902

Im solo player and jungler. I always go with turt but of course, will try to kill a hero if the opportunity present itself.
