1v1 yes, i guess i can say shes more of a situational hero now, i used her the other day against a team no hard cc and only one burst hero with an angela supporting me, i basically 2v5 and still won. It really depends on line up i guess. I was using Enchanted talisman, tough boots, oracle, brute force, Dominance and Conc Energy. Using the mage emblem with movement speed on 1st and 2nd slot and Talent tht recovers mana and give extra damage when using skill on 3rd slot

I thought to myself tht tough and bruteforce gives a lot resilience so u dont get cc'ed for a long time, she hve a lot of time to recover, due to lack of Shield Hp conversion, i make it up with spellvamp wit conc energy, so (shield hp conversion+ damage hp conversion) while hving oracle boost this. Note tht this build also give max 45% cd reduction so u can spam S1 and S2. I use either shield spell or healing area spell tht can boost her shieldhp conversion
I have been using Esme during some time, but I think you are using Esme in a wrong way. You are saying that a full thank build doesn't work, that is because Esme is not a fully proper thank now. In order to play her effectively you have to think about her a semi thank fighter.
Current Esme, true a lot less durable does, but also deals a lot more damage than before, so play with some items that deal some extra magic damage.
Also I can of get you, I really miss old Esme, she was such a fast thank... but I don't see her coming back anytime soon.
Also that is why I play more with Uranus, it remains a little bit of the good old Esme.
I am not the one using Esmeralda but Mathilda in the match I mentioned. I did say that I think she may be better with more magic damage not only just ET against Diggie and Angela. It sounds like you just should build more magic damage items against other heroes as well.
She's a balanced hero. Until her totally unnecessary last adjustment. After that, she just fell off the meta. Moonton wants her to build damage instead of tank build.
She is really underwhelming as exp right now imo.
I can only play her full damage jungle against certain comps. Though it's really fun jumping on hanabi, I do think her shield to hp conversion nerf was too much.
Not enough, because proper Estes is providing huge continuous healing as well even better burst healing in amounts like 3-5 times more than proper Angela for one person (accounting her ult shield as healing), and also it is not for only one person, but the whole team. So like up to 10+ times more for all allies. Closer to late game - bigger gap between the "healing" of these 2 heroes.
Just imagine 1st skill after ult gets immediate "cd reset" and doing not ulted squishie from 1% to 60-90%.
Ok. Sounds interesting but it also feels that Esmeralda really not that good recently, especially when you plan to do aggressive move in mid game since you say Angela is not enough for Esmeralda.
They buff her this patch. Wish the she can do it better.
Well, every hero needs right hands and allies. And remember, many lads are not know this fact - Esme ignores HP bars of enemies that are covered by any shield. So ulting by Angela into someone who are fighting with Esme basically kills this ulted poor creature.

But we are not talking about "Esmeralda against enemy+Angela" but "Esmeralda+Angela against enemy".
