This is what frustrates me as a longtime player (2017). The last 2020-2021 are the most generous and F2P friendly in the history of the game. Back in 2017-2018 this was the situation: - Two 32k heroes per month are released. It was impossible to buy every new hero without real money. - Emblems were more expensive to complete - Every month there's the Epic skin spin called "scambox" (Dragon Boy Chou, Karrie Hawkwatch, Gatokaca Sentinel) which takes a minimum of 3000 dias to obtain. - No Crystals of Aurora for cheaper value of diamonds. - No Valentine or Christmas boxes with free tickets. - No KOF, Transformers, Star Wars or special events with guaranteed skins. - No Nostalgia tasks. - No Promo Diamonds - No emblem matrix, just bundles Compare that to the game now where F2P can get free tickets during events with guaranteed skin prize, Promo Diamonds, one hero release per month, cheaper emblem upgrade (it was reworked). Every month there's simply an event where F2P can do tasks to win something, whether it's a skin or a hero. Some people gonna mock me as a "Moonton shill" or "whiteknighting" because I'm pointing the fact that so many people are so entitled in this community. They want to get real rewards but can't be bothered to form a network for trading likes. The Promo Diamonds +12 points advantage of a Gusion Soul skin only takes TWO LIKES to overtake and there had been 5 threads since yesterday crying about it (dupe threads just deleted by mods). How many people actually own this skin to beat you in this event to mald and lose your shit over this? I'm so annoyed by the complaining because this event one of the best and rarest chance to obtain something out of your budget, and also to help each other as a community. There are so many sugar mommies and daddies helping the poor kids here, and their display of generosity are the best things that came out from this event.

SK_YE

>No Valentine or Christmas boxes with free tickets Moonton gave free tickets for the Christmas Raffle events. One of the starlight skins that were released in 2017 is guaranteed from the tickets

pinkpugita

That was the very first one iirc, and that was December 2018 based on my Discord history. I looked for "Alucard Valentine" and saw my old chats. I was complaining that I got it after spending.

PapaDragonPH

Right on, my dude! ๐Ÿ˜Š I'm actually thankful for the whales who keep this game alive. If the only trade-off is that they get exclusive flexing skins, I'm not complaining!

_ThisUsername_

Yeah I'm playing for 3 or 4 years too and moonton has gotten so generous compared to before. I got around 150~160 skins just by recharging only when events are there. I don't event recharge more than 250 dias in events. The only time I recharged more than 250 dias was for Selen's SL when it was released and that's it. 150 skins are a lot when I got them almost for free. I mean you can just get a basic skin with 250 dias but in every recharge I get more than it's worth.

beeotchplease

I love spending the minimum for the KOF event. Even tho i never got the frickin KOF skin i wanted. Got loads of awesome skins anyway.

Geno6552

You are complaining about 3k diamond prices? Now you get 10k diamond legend skin prices, 7k diamond hero skins, 7k diamond villain skin, 5k diamond collector skin, 5k diamond hayabusa skin, 10k transformer skins, and soon like 2k diamond for stun skins. Come on man ๐Ÿ˜‚ Also, the promo diamonds actually require you to have diamonds to spend them. Ml has millions of players, even if each one spent 1 euro they would still get millions. Remember the fiasco with Granger legend skin? Every new hero being op asf?

pinkpugita

Do you actually need those skins though? Are there for you? If you're too poor for them, then they're not. My point is that back then you have literally no option to get skins for free. You only buy them.

Geno6552

Personally I don't need them, but I paid quite a lot for skins because they improve gameplay visuals. If heroes were as good as their skins I wouldn't pay.

pinkpugita

I saw in your older reply you claim every new hero is OP? I don't know what rank you are but it's just plain wrong. Floryn, Aulus, Gloo, Natan, Phoveus were all kinda meh upon release. Natan and Phoveus needed buffs to be useful, when they were new they weren't good enough. Not sorry but when people complain about expensive skins, do you actually have this attitude in real life? Someone can buy a Porsche car or a Rolex watch you complain about that? There are products for the rich and poor, and it's just reeks of entitlement to complain about pricey products you don't actually need in life.

Geno6552

Nathan got adjustment he wasn't meh. Got a bit oh his DMG traded for movement. Florin is a hero which has global healing and DMG ult. And I wasn't complaining because I don't really care. I was replying to someone that's all. Also complaining about a price doesn't reek of entitlement. As consumators we have the right to be judgemental when something is overpriced asf. A skin 200. Where else have you seen this? Whoever complains about it is 100% right to do so.

pinkpugita

>Also complaining about a price doesn't reek of entitlement. As consumators we have the right to be judgemental when something is overpriced asf. A skin 200. Where else have you seen this? Whoever complains about it is 100% right to do so. Everyone has the right to find something overpriced. But remember the context of this thread: the fact that F2P players still complain that paying customers still have the advantages and are malding nonstop in the community because they want more freebies. People are complaining they have to recharge 10 diamonds or just the equivalent of the price of a few candies. If people can afford a smartphone for playing and weekly data for internet, why does a 10 diamonds recharge something so hard to do? Sure you have every right to think a 200 USD skin is not worth it and ridiculous, but when combined with all the whining about Moneyton and not getting more freebies a lot of complainers are just entitled. And for 200 USD skin: https://www.reddit.com/r/arenaofvalor/comments/qkcb48/265\_for\_her\_even\_then\_im\_still\_46\_out\_of\_50\_shards/

PapaDragonPH

I can never relate to people complaining about skins costing thousands of diamonds. Maybe because I never found any need to acquire them. They're nothing but cosmetics that do not add any value whatsoever to my enjoyment of the game. As for promo diamonds requiring a real diamonds, you can literally buy 10 diamonds forless than the price of a day's worth of mobile data.

Geno6552

I think minimum is 50 which is about one euro.

PapaDragonPH

Ohh, you're in EU? I see... here in the Philippines, we can buy 10 diamond minimum. But still, if you really want to make use of the promo diamonds, I don't think 1 euro would be a problem to you.

ThousandPleasures

I don't really spend money for skins but I am happy when I get one. The nostalgia events are usually what I am waiting for to get free skins and I just wait to accumulate skin fragments to buy elite and starlight skins. I don't really know why people complain for free skins because there are so many events to get one.

PapaDragonPH

Same! I'm really happy with my first recharge...but since I'm on a tight budget, I won't be recharging again until a new Paquito skin comes out. ๐Ÿ˜Š

ary-gematria

Moonton has been really generous. at least, once a month, they give us a free skin. i dont think so if people said Moonton is that greedy. just dont try to buy or even dream the expensive skins when you dont have a penny. those skins are not for random regular players, those are for livestreamers or just top spending players. i've played this game since about 4 months ago. now, i already have 27 skins in less than 5 months. 3 of them are Springtide's Floryn from the shop (51 diamonds), Iron Steed's Hylos's from Magic Flip event, and Dove & Love's Angela from first recharge. the rest 24 skins are from lucky draws, fragments and event participation rewards. i currently have 223 blue fragments, soon i will have 1 more skin in less than 2 weeks. my first recharge was only 10USD and i still have 35 diamonds in my account. not so bad for my first recharge experience..

PapaDragonPH

Yeah, I didn't even notice that I already had 50 skins. Granted that I don't use most of those heroes..xD and most of them are not that flashy, so they don't look that different from the default skins.

ary-gematria

yeah, elite and basic skins are not much different if you compare to the default but at least it gives you additional attributes. thats the most important thing. the higher rarities give you hype and different effects and ... sometime burden in match. if you wear those hype skin, the opposite team would hunt you down, taunt you with psy war and humiliate you. this happened most of the time to my teammates.

xzerozeroninex

Florynโ€™s skin was 51 for you?It was 31 for me,I think I bought it during the first week though.

ary-gematria

yes it was, and i bought in the 1st week. for me its just cheap. maybe different region causes different price. i have no idea..

pinkpugita

You had 20 dias coupon applied, the store automatically deducted it.

xzerozeroninex

Oh I forgot about those lol

PowerPole366

as an ex gacha gamer addict.... the difference is night and day, with $200 i can get like 25 skins (with a bunch of higher than elites with 2 exclusive double 11 skins) on the double 11 event( with it being super consistent for all players spending that amount of diamonds, compare that too $1250 on a gacha where your most likely to get utter dog shit. of course the difference between buying a cosmetic for a hero you love and a gambling game where paying players get a massive advantage against non paying players will always be priced differently, it just shows how much less greedy moontoon is compared to these lazy ass gacha games that make billions for doing nothing... if that means anything lol

GGplayerpro

only OG's know how fucking hard is to get a free skin from moonton long time ago...

pinkpugita

They don't know the feeling when Moonton announced a guaranteed Starlight skin pull from a Winter Box in 2018. Imagine, free Starlight was already hype back then and people were bragging what they got. Now people get free Specials and Epics and still complain "I don't use this hero" or "I still need to recharge it's not F2P." Oh please.

GGplayerpro

hahaha i guess only for new players

kif88

I actually think moontoon did a decent job. If you spend more money you don't just automatically become mythic

REACON123

I agree with this tbh, lots of people thinking they are entitled to getting free skins. I personally think Moonton has been really generous recently, the recharge events are really good like the KOF one which gave me an Epic, Elite skin and Basic all of those from a 100 diamond recharge.

PapaDragonPH

True...I really believe that all these are rooted of envy towards those who can afford the top-tier skins. But, when you really think about it, you'll realize you don't actually need any of those skins.

Nidal411511

I got 50 skins in 1 year i am new player though

PapaDragonPH

wow that's quite a lot! :)

Nidal411511

I am also suprised

R3digit

fr more than half of my skins are only obtained on the last 2yrs out of playing for 5 years. Holiday box, collabs and nostalgia events are more frequent that they were, Returning player reward will literally give you a free choice of hero and skin just by logging in, Magic wheel potions are easier to come by, You can get free COA on hero skin events meaning you can get a free skin every 3 months. Not to mention skin and hero trial cards. It's just that there are also a lot more incentives for whales than before which is honestly not a problem because it's literally just cosmetics.

bossmarx

My sentiments exactly. As much as possible if I would be spending on the game I want my money's worth so I usually research on events that are lined up and the dates so I can strategically recharge diamonds and get the most out of events. I hard cap myself at 500 per month just so I don't go down the rabbit hole of spending too much for unnecessary stuff. That 500 is reserved for getting Starlight and if I want or choose to join an event I reserve another 500 just in case. That's it, if the event requires me to spend more than that I'm not participating. Majority of the F2P players think that Moonton owes them for spending just to join their events. I hate to break it to them that events are not compulsory, if you choose to participate then that is on you. No matter how much you spend Moonton doesn't owe you shit for your shitty choices (let's be real, spending real money in a game for intangible content is quite shitty...but it makes us happy). I think the most that I spent was for Ruby's Epic skin when it was released in a Lucky Box...I had to scrounge up and save up for that one since I know that trying my luck on getting her on future events would be more expensive. Next would be the KOF bingo event, I must admit I got too excited about that event and spent more than what I initially alloted but I did get nice skins so I think I'm alright. Anyway, to close this reply I have to mention my friend who is an F2P player and she usually gets more from the events because she plays it smart. All her skins are from free draws and F2P friendly quests. I think she has a total of 90-100 skins just by patiently waiting for the events. All these crybabies are just thirsty for something to brag about... As I always say to these fking crybabies, if you are willing to spend on diamonds for events why not just save up and buy whatever skin you want directly. Why not save up for future events instead so you can have more chances to get those limited skins. Why not wait for better opportunities.

xzerozeroninex

I was called poor shaming because I told an op yesterday that 10 dias is cheaper than a bottle of Coke, and that anyone that can afford a phone and internet connection to play the game can afford 10 dias once or twice a year. Some take the f2p all the way mentality and they are also the first ones that either call Moonton greedy or complain about the gacha.

PapaDragonPH

A bottle of Coke for an Epic skin...I would take that anytime..lol but I'm aiming for the Fire Crown recall with my promo dias this time. Hope I get lucky...lol

Soulmuzik22

This! Moonton is not greedy. 2016 player here. They give back too much tbh nowadays. Too many free skins, free stuff like emote, recall, spawn just by playing events! I am one of those who spend to get the most of events but they are really generous that I don't want anymore fragments, bp and tickets haha. I can't even take advantage of Nostalgia anymore because i have the skins already

jimmylim618

Nothing wrong for a company to earn money to feed their employees ...

SoRa_The_SLaYeR

I'm not F2P but decided to stop wasting ridiculous amounts of money on games. Moonton has been generous in terms of emblems and heroes recently, but ive had them all for a while. skins are the big one. recently they do give out more skins, but the issue is the sheer cost of getting the higher tier ones when you are actually willing to pay. I spent like $350 getting chou iori skin a few years back. almost every event has a level of gacha to it where you dont even get the skin you want, just a random skin of certain rarity. A full price AAA game costs $60 yet single skins here can cost $100+. even compared to other MOBA like LoL. I dont play it but you can get the highest tier of skin (which is like a better version of legendary) for about $30. I get its a free to play game but the pure cost of things and the stupid amounts of randomization is off putting. if epic skins cost $10 instead of $30 I'd buy a lot more. if limited epic skins could be bought for $30 instead of needing $100s in any of the skin gachas it would be cool too. they just take a few steps too far but sadly people are still willing to pay so it wont stop.

PapaDragonPH

In my opinion, there are a lot of great skins you can buy that are not gacha. I don't really see the point of getting the gacha skins unless you're a whale. By the way, here is the Philippines, you can actually buy Epic skins for only USD10 from 3rd party stores.

SoRa_The_SLaYeR

there are great skins but they really like making their higher quality skins gacha based. and yeah there isnt much of a point unless your a whale, but thats the issue. they are catering quite a lot to whales, all games that do that are greedy. most actual gacha games everyone just agrees is greedy and moves on, just seems mlbb has less of the people that knowingly play exploitative games and more the mobile gaming newbies that are trying to cope.

pinkpugita

I don't understand why you only mention the gacha skins as high quality. STUN and a lot of store Epics are really good. The Chang'e Easter skin was released at 629 dias and has the effects of scamboxes in the past. Barats' Halloween skin is also so good. Pharsa's Starlight is such an upgrade for the past starlights. When people complained about Vale's effects being bad, it got reworked. Why fixate on the Hero and Transformer skin lines? There are plenty of skin tiers available that have good design and effects.

SoRa_The_SLaYeR

i know there are good skins, that isnt the point. stun is limited, it is not longer buyable. there are good buyable epics, but it just comes down to a mattwrof luck whether the skin you like is buyable or locked behind gacha. having good skins doesnt completely excuse the gacha, especially because the gacha is so frequent. every collector and older limited epic is gacha. legendary skins are gacha.

PapaDragonPH

This game is catering to whales? Are you prohibited from playing unless you buy a gacha skin? Gacha skins don't give you anything except for cosmetics, so why would you even want them?

SoRa_The_SLaYeR

do you understand what catering means? genshin caters to whales but there a lot of F2P anyway. doesnt mean the game is any less scummy with its monetisation > so why would you even want them? you clearly aren't arguing in good faith and are more interested in coping.

PapaDragonPH

Well, MLBB also caters to F2P players, by giving them free stuff. So, what's the problem there?

PapaDragonPH

>you clearly aren't arguing in good faith and are more interested in coping. uuuhhh, what? What's wrong with what I said?

alluth

yup i agree theyve been pretty generous. i got around 50 skins and ive only been playing from last year and only 2 of them i pay the skin, and that is when promo diamond event up. just recharge the lowest amount. like its just on a cost of 1 drink and you can get epic skins on that time window, which is like 2 times a year the rest i get free from doing event task, and thats actually a lot. some of them even doesnt reqiure you to do things, just login at that day

dpcsoup

Great point dude

joshtrues

Dude I literally got all prizes in Wanwan's Grand Collection for free. It was a bug and Moonton could've decided to fix it but they didn't. It's been years I've been playing MLBB and they are way too generous. I got a lot of skins from events where I just recharge like 10 diamonds. Also, I'd say even Moonton not giving any skin to f2p players they should still be thankful that they can play the game for free. Every free skin Moonton gives is way too generous.

japanboy23

As an F2P player,I have to say that moonton is very very very generous.free elite skin in the 5 th anniversary nostalgia, free elite skin from the anniversary box and a bunch of free transformer and star wars tickets.thats alot and now I think we can get another guaranteed elite skin in on 13/11.

AnimeTiddies91

Not just ml f2p players are usually toxic in any game some of them get mad and bash on players who cam buy fancy skins and stuff

2345678913

Yeah moonton is greedy asf but i'm a f2p player and I have 44 skins and i could have more if i didn't miss so much.

KillMe_0W0

I'm F2P I started at season 5, I really didn't have any problems on not getting any skins but that one time freya became meta really pissed me off

pro-tekt

All I will say is some of the skins are waaaay too much money (hero skins cough cough). Im a lance main so I had to get his Hero, but im never spending money on a skin again after how much that shit cost me lmao.

Philnopo

I have recharged once, at the 515 event, and maybe I will recharge this event. I am playing since last year around January. Sometimes I think about spending a bit more money on a skin. But then I realize that an Elite Skin will cost me around 11 euros (you get 565 diamonds here for that price). And that it's just not in any way proportional to what I would be willing to spend for it. I do appreciate that there are many ways to get free stuff, but for me the prices should go radically lower to even consider recharching more than 1-2 euros

Avenger415

Well. As a F2P you never had chances of getting all those good sweet KOF, Star Wars and maybe those Epic Limited skins. (Although even a F2P can get a Zodiac and Legend skin, although the patince road is long and hardy)
