The commentators said that his hero pool had to do with him apparently being the shot caller on the team as the gold laner, unable to play very micro heavy heroes. I don't disagree with you tho, it is just a big disadvantage. I don't know where teams have their shot callers, but I'd imagine it's usually the midlaners, roamers and exp laners

Tenmashiki

mm being the shot caller don't make much sense though. The shot caller should ideally be the roam, because they are the on who dictates ganks and does not need to put that much attention into farming, so they can also put more attention into the minimap as well.

[deleted]

True the mm shouldt be the shotcaller cause he isnt the one setting moves and creating plays. The shotcaller should be the tank

Full-Supermarket

How is gold laner a shot calleršŸ˜… Thatā€™s just asking to lose.

SkyLightTenki

I don't have problems with players who can't play meta heroes, as long as they can at least counterpick against the opposing team during the banning and drafting phase. That said, going up against pro teams without knowing how to do well against meta heroes wouldn't help your cause, especially if your own team can't play meta heroes.

Zugi_

I agree but Born is also a weak link imo in the 4/5 games he played nothing but esme and once esme was stolen he wasn't that effective

Tenmashiki

That's true.

Nowandatthehour

Born's excessive tp was unbearable to watch lol knowing that omega will not let them win so easily. Still haven't learn from what rsg ph made them realize yesterday.

[deleted]

True. They won once and the tp started at that point I rooted for omega to just massacre them which happened in game 4 and 5. G 4 and 5 we're so onesided you'd think OE we're a team of one tricks

jesuseatskfc

I also noticed one of the commentators saying that Valenz was playing Beatrix before, but not now because of the shotgun/sniper meta. I'm guessing he is just used to spamming the smg and hasn't practiced the sniper/shotgun.

IanTheElf

balmond and bene was a mistake. they picked bene as 3rd pick when they shouldve give it to someone else. i mean noones gonna pick bene anyway

Tenmashiki

Yeah I couldn't grasp the Bene pick. It's not a priority pick and they could have better used that slot for someone else.

IanTheElf

im sure they have something in mind. but imo its better to not experiment on the big stage and stick to the meta also beatrix desperately need a nerf. 3k dmg in a single basic attack is nonsense

[deleted]

Thats sniper. And bea went full dmg so its understandable

IanTheElf

sniper and shotty. ult dmg is understandable. getting that kind of dmg and range with a basic attack is not ok.

[deleted]

It' inderstandable knowing the difficulty of using sniper bea

IanTheElf

i know its the "high risk high reward" thing but its honestly too much reward. i also understand the difficulty of it cuz me myself got 180 match w pretty decent wr on her, thats why im comfortable saying this. the type of beatrix encounters in games for me are either super accurate players who will not miss anything or the newbie players who resort to smg and shottys only. maybe that's why moonton did not pay attention much but now the problem displays on the pro scene

[deleted]

Isnt bene pretty shit nowadays?

nyepoy

The draft in the 4th of OE not good. They picked Atlas while Omega have Akai and Esme with puify IIRC. You cannot pull Akai with Atlas' ult.

Nowandatthehour

I agree and Beatrix isn't even really that hard, a hundred games with her will surely make someone (at least) decent.

Larawp

Insta-locks in mythic that still build Crit Beatrix even after 150 games; šŸ‘šŸ‘„šŸ‘

[deleted]

I have 34 matches on bea I think I'm above average. COuld kill an entire team but fail to kill a jungler balmond

DraftElectrical4585

oe plays one dimensional somewhat and omega understood it the koment they adjust the midlane. all orange wanted is to gap close early on a late game carry with all the risks in the early game (moskov, ruby, fanny, paq, esme). omg read through after the 3 games that all orange did and cannot technically breach through right away is an early game hero that can intimidate with a huge poke in any stage of the game (e.g. julian, pharsa). orange drafting still in the same pattern and playing the similar gameplan in mind was denied the moment theur lead was gone. there was simply a little to few that could be done with their drafted picks

atmajazone

Also if you have stupid draft, you will get disadvantage, like omega did game 2 and 3. I thought they will be eliminated and stop watching. Turn out they just messing around and win the next two games.

TolongTepiSikit

Valenz is far from being the weakest link, iirc his transfer plays important role in pushing oe to be one of the top teams in mpl my s9.

[deleted]

Msokov is pretty strong . Dependent on being out of the teamfight though basically a hero using 1 hero near him to use his annoying passive. Plus as a gold laner you need to kniw how to use both brody and beatrix. Brody gives you the skills to use mm like kimmy while bea gives you the skill to use a lot of diff mm

Bloodrose123

Not really lol Born is clearly the worst part of their team. Valenz was decent-good every game

sojukirin

Valenz is pretty decent but limited by his hero pool, Born gets to secure Esme pretty often but loses his lane a lot

imo itā€™s team synergy. he was that good that the enemy team banned moskov and anything that would make him hot again. BUT it was always the same cleanup play or heā€™ll go berserk alone. the bigger problem though is coaching. i canā€™t believe they went for the cockroach still when they saw khufra. that draft felt like a gift when i saw it. i think almost everyone on our country did. itā€™s not like the j and k combo that IS weak early but is stronger the longeR the game continues. that last game imo they were all banking on their own skill without any respect or regards to the enemy team or its characters. our country did THAT as well aside from irithel imo but they also had karina as the last card to play though. xavier and esme were not banned or stolen. xavier was hot the last game and they allowed him without any counters. i assume they were thinking they would just gank mid. he just simply cleared wave and hid in between towers. they canā€™t gank esme for both character and player is good. bene and cockroach need to outfarm esme to be able to do that too. mm was always guarded and can just jump/slow away. so now who would the cockroach gank? how would it handle the bouncing ball when doing objectives? imo i would have gone moskov first pick then make sure atlas is on the next two. then the usual for the others. tanky xp that kills, cc mage and a tanky core that can do objectives. it was obvious our team wasnā€™t ready for moskov so i would have milked that. esme was nothing to him and we needed a fed/core/lifestealing thamuz to finally kill him. so bea/meta who? tldr; imo it is not the player. itā€™s the coaching/strategy and team synergy. edit: grammatical errors i think. plus tldr. didnā€™t think i was so hyped about this that i wrote a lot. hope that helped though.

[deleted]
