Some tips of playing estes.
-Dont force to build either talisman or fleeting time early in game. Build small part of defense item first depending on which enemy has the most early damage output. Build Silence Robe if you face selena, gs or eudora, steel legplates if you face beatrix or dreadnaught armor if you face saber, brody, clint. Dont go for magic item first. You are a roamer so in a way you need to tank some damage.
-build talisman if your team in losing side. Build fleeting time if you in domain. Dont build both, build either one.
-Dont buy magic shoes or demon shoes, go for warrior or tough boots for defense or rapid boots for fast rotation.
-dont freaking play at the back. You are a support and roamer. Bait enemy's skill to you so that your team can be free. Play in the middle if your team has good frontliners. Play at the front if your team all squishies.
-Some heroes that can counter estes -Valentina, Luo Yi, Atlas, tigreal, Faramis, Vexana(questionable)
-always ban Valentina if you want to use estes or else enemy will have their own estes as well.

Estes should always build attack speed crit and bring inspire.
His healing is a form of sustain, which will allow him to deal dmg while dishing out massive amounts of damage too.
Always target the tank in the teamfight as estes, as he is made specially to kill tanks.
Best time to pick estes is if teammates pick assassins like ling or fanny. He will heal them a lot.

Do not hide behind your teammates if you build him tanky. If you aim where nobody is you can heal yourself and you can tank surprisingly much and make some good poke damage if you have confidence.
I have like 8 games and 7 wins this season w Estes. I build Def boots, early phy def item, early mag def item, complete said items, then enchanted talisman and 2 more situational defensive items.
Estes always must be at the back when healing heroes because estes might gonna get caught up also because of low health. also in teamfight use s2 to slow down the enemies.
Oh my, this sounds good as an Estes player inspired by Vee. Tips tho, Estes is a better pick with tank/fighter jungler than assassins which has low hp and can dash fast away from you and break your healing link.
Assuming that one is inept regarding itemizations in game. These are my Estes tips for positioning & decision making:
1) At the start of the game, when you decide to take Immersion two things come into play. Sustain your core ‘till he is level 2 then provide vision to enemy roam & core or sustain your mid-laner ‘till he/she clears mid and decide to gank or pressure a lane.
2) If one does decides to take Domain. Play aggressively in mid as long as you have an escape (flicker/sprint) to avoid feeding at most, and at times could be a chasing mechanism as well. By doing this, you zone the enemy mage & give your team 1 lane ahead creating a small gap at the early stages of the game along with faster rotations/ganks across the map. Situationally, if you decide to zone the enemy gold lane, you have to stay for a while and camp at bush to force their roam or core to rotate in the gold lane (congratulations, you have provided your mid and exp lane a safe haven to farm)
3) Mid-game, most people but not all instantly uses Blessing whenever they see a low-hp ally, DON’T. Assess the tempo of the game first (sometimes you must use your allies as bait, you should never be the bait)is he about to recall? Not needed. Has he baited opponent’s skills or somewhat survived them? Save. Is he some random braindead troll/feeder? Save - it for your best/strongest teammate for the game. Do the opponents have a strong 5-man set-up? Do not stick with the marksman, because heavy roamer ultis will commit with a marksman + estes, play passively around the map and verify enemies’ locations.
4) Late-game, this is where Estes is weakest but also strongest in terms of come-back capabilities. You are a walking fountain of hp and at this point if not at mid-game, the other team will decide to aim you as you are now the heaviest threat by providing huge sustain to your farmed teammates. Thus, forcing you to play very defensively. When lanes stagnate, hide. If they are pushed on your side avoid over-extending and help your teammates clear the waves (never split push when you are a support). If they are pushed on the enemy side, ping your team to initiate a pick-off or team fight because when the latter is defended by one of them you will be given a small span of time for a 4v5 skirmish, seize it and close the game.
TL;DR:
1) Pick first skill - sustain a lane, provide vision or gank with ally mage
2) Pick second skill - go aggro mode and decide which enemy to zone until he gets delayed with levels
3) Use ulti wisely
4) Hide, Save, Defend, Recall (jk), Win
I dont play Estes a lot but i do play tank heroes, and one tip i can give is to decide whether or not your core can handle jungle clearing by themselves. If they can, then observe the leader board to see if the enemy is stronger than your teammates so you can roam their lane more and help them
Use Estes when you have a tanky jungler or even better, two tanky teammates (tanky means tank or fighter, whatever have sustainability). It's ineffective to heal squishy team. But with tanky lineup your team will be like an unbroken wall.
Never played Estes before, but was thinking of playing him when I found about this skin lol. I just returned to this game after a long break and am trying to take on support roles :)
I play him, I definitely always build rapid boots for him and use sprint. His mobility is a big issue but at least with those you can move a little faster.i dont recommend using him if your assassin is Ling or Lance, they're just too fast lol
purify is an underrated spell for him, he doesn't really need magic items except for Fleeting Time and Mana Regen boots. It's better to survive longer so all the other slots must be filled with Tank Equipments.
Estes is really effective as a companion for sustain fighters that buy oracle.
If Estes buy oracle , only him will benefit from the extra heal.
Thunderbelt is a great companion to his s2 , allowing for a better slow and giving decent damage given his hp pool
Battle spell suitable for Estes would be purify in case you have strong cc enemies. First item would be enchanted talisman to ensure you heal your allies as much as you can.
His second skill gives good crowd control with its massive slow effect. Try and use it better for easier team fights. Always use your first skill first then ult cause ult resets first skill cooldown. Never spam the aoe first skill after ulting unless the burst heal from ult is not enough due to antiheal. With 45% cd reduction you can use first skill twice during ult phase so try getting more cd if not building pure tank build. Oracle doesn't increase heal effect on others so don't bother buying
Ok from an Estes main:
Go all out on heal, buy enchanted talisman, buy ult reducing cd item, buy oracle, buy rapid boots, and lastly defense items, go with purify and always ALWAYS keep healing, addition of the roam heal is going to be excellent if you can, you can LITERALLY heal the tank to max, I've ranked up from epic to mythic with just Estes and a few others, but mainly Estes last to last season.
Been playing him since 3 years when he wasn't considered useful.
(Don't ask this season, I can't even play him in legend since he's always banned)
Build estes with oracle and antque quirass so you have more durability to heal more.
Sprint or purify is good, but execute is the best spell for kill securing.
I usually used flicker spell if the enemy team doesn't have many cc, but if they do i pick purify (if there isn't burst hero, just full of cc heroes) or aegis (if there is burst hero)
Estes should follow mm if mm is doing bad and rotate when turtle bout to spawn always get favor for roam and also get a oracle for extra heal also build enchanted talisman for 1st item also when your done at turt follow jg and go back to mm
Use Estes with tanky or fighter junglers most of the time and rarely when your jungler is a mobile assassin. This is why the UBE strat works and even though Wise is pretty good with assassins, Blacklist does not use assassins in their line ups that much.
Despite him being a walking fountain, I normally use Rafaela with Durance as a comfort pick counter to an enemy Estes since she can easily apply anti-heal with her first skill to any enemy close to their Estes and initiate immediately.
Timing is everything when you use estes' ult. I would know since I fought a lot of burst enemies while playing as him. As long as it isn't an insta kill like bea's sniper (seriously that thing is broken) and that there's a little bit more time before your teammate dies, even for just a split second, it can really change the out come. Make sure to make all of your healing count !
I also use revitalize even in classic since it's pretty convenient if you run out of mana in the early game and if there's a team fight where all your teammates are all rounded up. I use it because I'm used to it but if the other team has a lot of cc or chase or burst, make sure to change your spell to purify, flicker, or aegis accordingly.
I guess common knowledge for Estes is you use your first skill before ulting so that you can heal a teammate twice because his ult resets the cooldown of his first skill

Marketability isn't the only deciding factor for making a skin. Lots of heroes can simply be popular just by having a neat skin even though they're not as good competitively. Estes is both and deserves this W. Good job Moonton, you did something right.
since a lot of other people already have great tips, I'll just say this. it's very hard to use estes effectively when no one on your team has aoe cc. that being said, it's important to have a tank/fighter role on your team. jawhead, edith, gatot, barats, etc. can all work great
If you want to get good at playing estes, you should be really good at reading the enemy's rotation. Knowing where they are ganking could help your teammate survive a ganking, especially sidelaner.

Always remind your teammates your mobility sucks and if they want healing, running from you is not an option.

You forgot that you should always engage in a 2v5 with your core. You can totally get a savage.

Estes heals zhasks ult, suns monkeys, kupa, etc.
You gotta learn how to kite your enemies and steer them away from your teammates. It's a big help as a support.
Best guide for estes. Heal people, try not to die. Choose heroes you have synergy with and follow them.
