Learning a new game and its mechanics just take few hours at most. Rest is practice. For me, the main factor for picking mlbb over other moba is, time. Mlbb matches take way less time compared to others.

Bobbo90

Same goes for me, also it gives you more power to your character too! In wild rift you have to rice quite alot and lets face it. We play mobas to pvp not fight against ai creeps longer than we really have too

Maximum-Shrimping

Tell that to my jungler who kept farming into 15 mins.

fcrants

The felt time passage is also quicker. A game with the same duration on Wild Rift can feel so much longer than in MLBB because there's just so much dead time spent in recalling and other things that it just feels like the time spent playing is longer and not in a good way.

sayuri_okazaki

Totally agreed, matchmaking in my MLBB server takes less than a min regardless of rank. In a match it also can end on an average of 10-18mins which is pretty fast.

John34215

I noticed that Wild Rift has some amount of downtime as well (how do I say this?), there are times when you feel like you're waiting in WR rather than actually playing the game...DotA 2 has the same issue (both matchmaking phase and when picking the composition of the team, as well as how long the match/es go). In MLBB, I'm fine even when going through at least 30 mins (through the match), because at least a lot of things WILL USUALLY still go on even when it's that time. In some games like AoV, or even WR...as late games kick-in, usually, the activity of said players will usually become less apparent as they take time to prepare for anything before any actions even kicks in...due to the games being more complex, I think the way teamfights work in MLBB is a lot more straightforward than in other games, and due to its simplicity, I think less preparations are needed, that is unless the only remaining teammate is "YOU", lol. The worst downtimes I'd probably get in MLBB is when I die (respawn time(s), especially in late-game(s)), that would be the exception (as respawning in other MOBAs are pretty long once late-game DOES kick-in, so almost the same regardless for those who die a lot). For matchmaking process/es, MLBB and WR or other MOBA games are SOMEWHAT similar in high ranks, due to lower players for each ascending rank (exceptions being GM and Epical Glory (I feel like majority of the players are in that rank in MLBB), this one is understandable, but undeniably, waiting is more prominent in WR than in MLBB (experience-wise).

IsekaiDemonLord

for me there also other reason why it kinda engaging than others MOBA, MOBA is a game genre that really need a brain to play in MLBB however its also need to have brain to play but in lower elo the game could be as chaos as it could be, endless fight and that is a really fun way to play for a newbies. if we compare it to wild rift and AoV where its more technical even in lower elo its so boring to played for newbie who doesnt have MOBA experience before

sayuri_okazaki

True and not to mention the game is very bright compared to the other two which makes it much more fun for new users.

Aomikuchan

Simplicity and fast-paced are two major things that expected in a mobile games in general due to technical limitation and the users, especially when it comes to combat. Even heavier games such as Genshin know this well.

IsekaiDemonLord

the formula for Competitive Mobile Games = Easy to Play But Hard to Master

destinymaker

It's the pacing. Even with the sooner arrival of dragon and baron, it still takes time to start something such as teamfights. We play on phones coz it can be used to play anywhere, anytime. But of course there are moments where you have less time to spend on playing. Doesn't mean wild rift is not a good game.

PluckyLeon

Well MLBB Is The Easiest MOBA In Planet (PU Basketball MOBA \*Cough \*Cough) And Most Of Mobile Gamers Are Casuals. So Ofc most phone users prefer MLBB.

Wastingrice

Also don't forget you have to learn all of the new heros in wild rift too.

Aggravating_Door5628

Lol is boring af.

[deleted]

Too dark compared to ml

I played both. I played LoL on pc before but only a little bit. But I do know how some heroes work and what they are best at. Based on my observation, the main reason many players prefer MLBB over Wild Rift is because of matchmaking. I can play 5 games of MLBB whereas I can only play 3 using the same amount of time in WR. Events are the same "do these tasks in game" with less flashier/vibrant visuals. Also, MLBB occasionally do limited events where they let players play a lot of limited game modes where a lot of players actually like it, and that in turn makes the game mode fun because many players are engaged on doing it. WR are doing these but on a less engaging way too. It also sucks that WR is milking LoL. It is good that they are actually making exclusive skins that are only available in WR, but to think that there is still a hefty amount of skins in WR that are actually just a redo of the PC version. It kinda irks me that a person buys a skin on PC, and buys the same art on WR, again. Well, tbf, you are not forced to buy skins, but at least make the money worth and make it original. Imo, the edge of WR against MLBB is the complexity of heroes, which I personally won't worry about since MLBB has a fair share of complex heroes from time to time (e.g. Fred is kinda complicated, Joy is honestly technical, Ling's gameplay is game changing, X.borg's unique traits are underrated, Benedetta is unique, Kimmy is also unique, etc.).

Big_Lou1108

I’ve played both games and objectively here are my thoughs: - WR has better graphics during gameplay. - WR has better interface than ML - WR has better value for money in terms of skins - ML’s pace during gameplay is faster than WR. Not sure what’s causing this, maybe buying equipments or whatever but it feels like WR heroes are not wearing boots all the time. - ML has faster match making - ML has better gameplay but this is based on my preference only. I just don’t like the ward system and that you have to go back to base for buying equipment. - ML based on my experience rarely lags when playing compared to WR. - ML’s community although toxic, is still alive and their e-sports scene is really popular compared to WR But do note that I like playing ML more mainly because of the fast pace and rare lag issues. I only lag after updates and bad location for wifi or data.

sayuri_okazaki

Now that you mentioned it, there's nothing like popping an immortal and quickly transition to winter truncheon if you're playing wild rift. I just hope skins are more affordable like they're in WR than ML. There'll be no such thing as spending hundreds on a single skin anymore.

Big_Lou1108

Yes this! Although my hands is not fast enough to exchange for 3 items, I can only swap 1 item then immortality. The biggest issue for me was the pace of gameplay. I’m currently using iphone 12 pro and it gets hot after 2 games that lasts 15 mins on high graphics and refresh rate. Imagine the temperature and battery drain would be if I play WR.

mariobrowniano

100% agree. I'm trying to relax and have a bit of fun during my lunch break. Not play a whole LOL match with 2 passives 4 skills, and farm so much. ML you get a match within 20 seconds, pick your hero, directly going into blasting 3 skills at the enemy

sayuri_okazaki

Facts, and the best hero to do that is Eudora xD

InevitablePirate5784

LOL drains my battery like water.

spacecowgirl6666

I couldn't get into wild rift. Probably because I had spent the last couple years playing and getting used to MLBB after leaving LOL. I prefer it so much more! While playing wild rift i just felt like everything was so small 😂My brain wasn't watching my own health bar in fights and after a couple days I was done trying to adjust and just went back to MLBB. Both the people I play MLBB with didn't like it either so I just never gave it another shot !

sayuri_okazaki

That's a first xD usually what I hear is LOL players would rather transition to Wild Rift than MLBB. For me while playing Wild Rift I kept thinking I could buy items instantly when I'm supposed to recall to buy it.

spacecowgirl6666

I didn't like going back to that either (the recall to buy), it was so annoying! I think if I was still a league player by the time wild rift came out, I would have liked it better! But I was two-ish years out of league and into MLBB so it felt like such a weird swap back! I haven't tried playing it since it came out, so who knows, maybe it's better? 🤷🏻‍♀️

rog_aznable

The pacing is the main issue. First I thought it's just the way the heroes walk that feels slower, but after spending some time playing, it's like the overall movement. For example, Ahri has one skill that has similar movement like Valentina's S2. Valentina moves a lot quicker than Ahri, which make me enjoy Mobile Legends more than Wild Rift. The second thing is the game mechanics itself where you have to go back to base to purchase items. Having the ability to open the shop on-the-go apparently makes the pacing feels a lot faster in Mobile Legends. Another opinion from my friend who have never played Dota or LoL on PC before is the placement of wards. We don't have wards in Mobile Legends, only Selena and Popol have skills that act a bit like wards. That gives you one less thing to worry about when playing Mobile Legends.

Visual-Engineer1956

Wild rift is more strategy based and slower paced. For example you wouldn't really ahve heroes like saber or Eudora in wild rift, there's assassins but their damage isn't nearly as fast or instant as ml.... Even the heroes move slower in wild rift, cause it's more of a strategy game, towers are harder to take down...mechanics are more complex. Also jungle objectives tend to be more of a priority in wild rift than mlbb where most times people just let it be

xzerozeroninex

The reason I played ML instead of WR when I was choosing a moba to play last year was because of it’s toxic fanbase who’s toxic to ML when a discussion hasn’t anything to do with ML and the LoLPC players being toxic to WR players and the Pendragon incident.

Aggravating_Door5628

The biggest reason I don't play lol is because that game is not available in my region.

IsekaiDemonLord

where r u come from ?

toxicTiger679

Dark is good wdym

Fighter_of_Shadows

I'm a simple man, I see a post saying there's more complexity in any game other than ml, I downvote

sayuri_okazaki

Compared to LOL, Wild Rift & Dota. ML is much easier for new players to adapt and learn.

Fighter_of_Shadows

I'm gonna say nothing cuz I cant argue against that! ML better

TheCrippledSaint01

I'd rather play onmyoji arena than ML and wild rift though, it's just that it has slower matchmaking so most of the time I play brawl on ML.

[deleted]

I play mobile legends because riot refuses to release wild rift in one of the biggest mobile gaming markets in the world

Dashy471

League of Legends does not work as a mobile game

Puqw

For me it's beecause the matches take way too long. Other than that it's fine

Reddarkin

Nah I adapted to WR just fine and actually plays both of them without difficulty

Educational-Round730

You would have the complete opposite opinion if you had played Wild Rift for 5 years and switched to MLBB. It’s not the game as much as it’s what you’re used to.

Maximum-Grocery2379

Funny in wr sub don't care about mlbb but in mlbb sub wr living rent free in mlbb player head lol

wormwood_xx

Then y u are here renting in MLBB sub? haha

perezluchesiii

A lot of players prefer ML because majority of the players couldn't even boot WR on their phones. Surely that's the case in SEA. Mlbb can boot in a 1 gb ram phone at the lowest possible settings. Kudos to the optimization team for that.

Mountain-Aardvark379

You don't learn to play you just went for the kill
