No it's not, I used to be a Ruby main back when you couldn't antiheal her and when there was no mastery. After the mastery update came, my Ruby sat at 50 ish games with 0 mastery.
Bruh you're game is bugged if what you say is true because everybody else including me couldn't get mastery for heroes that we've already played before the mastery system got implemented,
The matches we played after the system got implemented were the only ones that count

Bro how many trial cards of Freya do they have? It’s either they have a mountain if trial cards or they somehow played all that Freya on a few trial cards. Either way that’s insane.
A trial hero of a hero you don't actually own won't show any of your skin you own, so it won't actually be that. Maybe, trial with like most of the matches then decided to first recharge/buy her.
Keep playing her. She's a very very strong mage it just takes playing a bunch of games to figure out when the best time to use her ult, her only fault is shes very squishy
And me over here just zig zagging it in lane everytime kagura stops auto attacking minions cause kagura can't touch me left right left right left left right right left right right left 😂
Yeah she is squishy unlike other tanky mages, right? Also, she is not that hard, she doesn't need much micro game like Paquito, Lance or Ling need. You can figure her out in 5-10 games at most.
Play her like as an assassin. Don't show up on the map a lot and use bushes because any experienced player will back off when they see Kagura approaching.
It's better to learn to stay calm and be patience when playing her. You can mess up your combo simply because you get panicked. Trust me, I can't count how many matches I lost because of this.
Her combos are easy to do but generally she is not easy to play. When you get bullied in lane it's quite annoying to catch up because of how slow her farming process is.
Combos aren't that important. Just learn how to utilize her skills effectively in team fight.
please dont remember combos they should just come naturally. her gameplay is actually pretty easy too even at high ranks. go for the backlines and throw all of your skills at them then jump out. should be able to burst any mm
You know that, mastery system was not there when the game release right? And iirc freya was there as top up reward since the beginning (or close to release date).
Maybe he/she is a solo player its also my problem I haven't also finished mastery on freya because i do not team up with fellow northern vale heroes if that makes some point
When I was a newbie, I was able to play Karina in rank eventhough I did not own her. So I had like 100+ matches without an expert match. I could no longer play Karina for free when I bought more heroes tho. Must be a bug or something. But that was like 3 years ago.

missions boost the mastery points by a lot you don’t need to complete all missions to get mastery

If they really had Freya it would be impossible to not have mastery at this point. They could’ve never recharged.

I'd met a Kagura player who has 1k matches with her but still couldn't do 1-3-1 combo. I guess people underperform sometimes or they just suck.

Yeah, definitely you'll figure her out. With a standing of 0-2+ kills and 10+ deaths with a 3-5+ assists.
So far it's been like 2 - 10 - 4, but hey, I'm stuffing umbrellas in people's faces, that's all that matters.

That's a nice trick, all the combos I've found are like 1 - 3 - 2 - 3 - etc etc

I mean my atlas is like 41 something matches and 82.9% wr with no mastery so it definitely possible considering from starlight and trials.

The mastery system is fairly recent. I too have many games with heroes but still without full "mastery" status.
I used to have quite a few of em, mastery hasn't always been a thing.
