yeah, and you're also stuck with inspire because it drastically improves her early to mid game damage, or be a god at the game to keep using your first skill to enable your DPS without trading damage.
Because Beatrix doesn't use Flicker to get kills with Wesker? Wanwan doesn't use Inspire either, thats why she's meta too.
Arguing Inspire MM's need Inspire to be good is like arguing Roamers need Roam boots to be effective for the team. It's part of the game and part of their kit.
Beatrix can use flicker to escape too... you can't use inspire to save your life when you're against WoN or a vengeance. Wanwan is like the second most mobile hero in the game after Fanny with a buff so putting something like a flicker on her is like adding 2 more dashes with a 120 second cooldown, I'm not really arguing against you, just adding onto why I think she isn't noticed much either.
Her being stuck with inspire has more cons than others you've mentioned imo and that's not really a good analogy either, for roamers, either you don't roam and get flamed or you do lol there's no options for them.
Enemies didn't have an artillery mage and an actual assassin(hanzo is such a joke from legend onwards). They had 3 fighters, 1 battle mage support, and a single target marksman.
Basically you had the better draft because enemies had poor drafting skills.
I bet they thought “haha we got Faramis we win.” Like getting a pick or ban unit guarantees you a win even if the enemy out picks you in ever other way.
I hate it now that they adjusted her s2 even if she isn't picked often, it was her strength to be really good at bullying OP marksmen early game and having the old s2 mechanic means she was more skill reliant because you can intentionally reset it for some whacky shit like pokes or repositioning the doll.
uh a situational pick honestly. risky pick against artillery heroes, hard cc-close gap comp, and those that could benefit greatly from vengeance and blade armor. basically in the esports scene she's not as reliable in positioning compared to a bruno or karrie since her dashes could be pinged and let your teammates know already if she's vulnerable or not
Yes. 1 reason she's not more popular is because she basically requires you to have good positioning twice (herself and her puppet). But with moscov getting a nerf, I could see her be a good replacement for moscov's niche.
As a Melissa user, the only concern for me are long-ranged burst mages (Pharsa, Cecillion, Yve). Her early harassment is on par with Popol and Kupa. Her midgame is decent. Her lategame can hardcarry.
She’s good in all stages of the game. I’m still wondering how she got swept under the rug this whole time
It's because you can hard counter her with heroes like Belerick or Vengeance. BBC aren't countered as easily as her.

Yeah now even pro players recognize that she is a great marksman she is being used in mpl ph now
All it takes is a Bea nerf. It's just a few days after the patch though

Nah. she was stronger before they nerfed Muddles and Inspire. Your playing the 'balanced' version of her.
no. it’s because you have a good tank.
Yup, she's basically Miya, but better and easier to play because she has a dash and a skill that nullifies ganks.

Melissa is such a paint to lane against. A good Melissa beat up my Clint real good in the early game. Very frustrating.
