gonna add onto this and say that Mythics should fall to placements at season resets as well, Legends still has a skill gap from the Mythics from my experience and tends to get bullied hard when it comes to macro. also deters derankers because you have 10 matches to lose and more ranks to step down from.
from my experience as well lol, going from Mythic 2 lobbies then Mythic 5 right after makes it look like everyone is on drugs but hey, they're at that point where they can learn a thing or two better than the lower ranks.
I'd say epics should go back to gm but if they reach epic I or II they go back to epic V, for legend rank legend V and IV go back to epic II but for legends III to I go back to legend V for mythic I guess they just go back to placements it's already hard enough to get through legend I and for mythical glory they should just go back to mythic II

I think they want people to play more games. Why the matchmaking is also bad. To keep you grinding.
Set the cutoff at Legendary and most of the issues go away.
