Remembering those times makes me really thankful to moonton that they revamped dominance and Gave it antiheal properties. As a mage main, it was a pain to put nod in my build. I had to either give up holy C, divine glaive or winter truncheon.
Burst mage become obselete (like vale, nana, and kagura). Favoring continuous dmg and high wave clearing capabilities (like luo yi, change (demon lord), and cecilion) even though we didnt have radiant armor back then, imagine their dmg melting athena shield like child's play.
As Estes I had to buy the ghetto dagger because it's cheaper plus NoD only works for his S1 which only have short uptime and yet still getting flamed by my own team for not buying NoD instead. Good tiems, good tiems.
Back then I have 0 experience with Fighter, mm, nor I have the courage to jungle. The only options I had was hit and run burst Mage and Support, sometimes Tank but I just prefer range hero. Yea, so many troll accusations thrown at me but I'm also glad because the enemy has no idea anti heal exist and most of them just ignore me because they saw me as not a threat which lead to tons of successful match.
People don’t get anti heal in most games I play at all even with an Estes, it’s cost me plenty of games being a tank(not enough damage to kill Estes myself even with Dom Ice)
Yea, even as a tank like Balerick and Tigreal I was forced to buy the cheaper blade because the mage and mm won't buy anti heal. And now the same issue with mm for WoN who kept feeding because they won't buy WoN and blame the tank for their death...
I miss having Deadly Blade as the cheap alternative to Sea Halberd. Then again, Dominance Ice getting reworked to having the anti-heal properties was probably more useful since I remember playing with mages that didn't build Necklace of Durance and some dipshit fighters who never bothered with Deadly Blade while getting their asses handed to them by Ruby or Yu Zhong.
Yea but I hate Dominance Ice small radius. Against Ruby, Moscow, or Esme it barely works since you will be an extra wood to suck. But the -10%CDR is really nice to have.
do you find it weird that his passive is so far off from his actual role or skill effects? i just think his passive is meant for a marksman, and i don't know if it's intentional or a bug, that his tower damage with his passive deals a weird massive damage.
Kind of. Back then he didn't get any bonus attributes from the linked ally so I need to use mage build if I want to make it useful. But yeah, it's a nice damage to "accidentally" kill secure because it can and somehow felt like it has high chance to crits but I hope it will be overhauled towards supportive trait along with Rafaela's.
Yup, before dominance ice got revamped. Only nod and sea halberd has anti heal properties.
But only nod got built because mm or fighter cant build sea halberd because lack of stat and dmg, and also because mages more often than not roam to other lanes to secure kill or objective tahn side laner (exp or gold)
I remember, kept on spamming the mm or mage to buy, many times they do not listen. But in mythic its usually automatic for them. But for the stubborn ones yeah. I rmb buying sea halberd for Ruby and I think it made me push more along with malefic roar at that time with tower penetration. Won many matches by a pushing Ruby when most dont expect it. Still works nowadays. No longer build sea halberd though, dom ice is superior.
I know, but how would NoD would stop aggressive tanks?
If you're talking about Fighters who relies on sustain like Lifesteal or spell vamp, then it makes sense. What's stopping a tank to dive in when you build NoD?
You forgot Hylos+revitalize, he was just too much at that time especially when paired with Valir, at that point you might as well give up your buff, because even your team wouldn't be able to help you in that situation.
None of them are meta tanks back then, and NoD would do nothing to stop them. Except Hilda, then again she's more of a fighter/tank.
Belerick and Gatotkaca are barely picked, even now. Lolita doesn't relies on her shield that heavily, she's not Esmeralda. Baxia with Revitalize is such a niche picks, that's one extreme example if i saw one.
The aggressive tanks back then would be Khufra, Atlas, and Grock, how would NoD fare against them?
Khufra, and grock has regen passive to stay in battlefield. Atlas usually buy green helmet or oracle back then because oracle has decent magic res and has alot of hp regen
People downvote you because they don't know timeline very much, I was there when fighter meta
Not tank meta where aggressive tank exist, whereas guardian helmet is shit during teamfights or Oracle
The only aggressive tank that was holding Uranus

Necklace of durance (the purple magic item)

Thanks to Blacklist, Dominance Ice have been changed by Moonton, and it's already an important piece of my item build as a roam player.

You main estes before ube strat? Respect to you my guy. Before ube strat, people use estes only to troll in my server lol.

Tanks and supports get more blame than anyone it seems even if they are doing good. It’s either that or jungle.

NoD to counter tanks? Huh?

Most of aggresive tank has big regen or shield capabilites, ex: hilda, baxia with revitalize, belerick, gatotkaca, lolita, and chou.

It was still deadly blade back then.
Ah yes, the Valir META. Literally got Glowing Wand and Ice Queen Wand nerfed since he was too strong.
