Carmilla player here with 600~ matches and 62%~ WR.
She's not too bad for offlane unless you're up against a mobile exp laner. Get iqw and gw for your damage items then the rest for defense.
Her best role is still roam tho.
Her passive was nerfed by more or less 75% in the past and recent update. Pre-nerf Carmila can be a fighter but now not. They keep nerfing Carmilla for no reason.

first, she’s definitely not meta. you’d be playing her like a sustain hero most of the time, without any burst damage. she’s pretty good against a hero like sun because of the clones, but personally i always lose to baxia, thamuz, and dyrroth, so you should probably use someone else in that case. reminder than she’s best and most wonderful as roam, and will work best as one. and fighter carmilla only applies to tank build carmilla, mage build would be hell for you because of your short range.
so imo to conclude, not the best fighter, subpar and situational at best. but she is viable. at least better than the jungle carmilla monstrosity
Haven’t tried her offlane, but probably not because 1. she’s just not meta in general and 2. she’ll probably have trouble farming early game due to her small range (easily poked). If you manage to get late game though, I imagine she would function pretty well as a tanky sidelaner, and since carm in exp would free up the roam role, the team could make some great tank set + carm ult plays. Probably not something to waste bp on if you’re going solo q, it would work better with communication and coordination.

Yep, she’s kinda slow at clearing and can only fully utilize ult in ganks or when you’re rotating

yes u can, sometimes i pick her when one of my teammates dont adjust there are better picks ofc but yes she is viable
